AngiBowman says "Nice Idea but Impractical Design " about Colgate Wisp Disposable Toothbrush

On the surface, it's easy to think that Colgate's new travel-sized WISP brushes are just what you need. Although the idea is there, it's unfortunately a fad-item that produces marginal results.

What Is It?

In short, it's a waterless toothbrush that with a pearl of hardened gel in the center. The gel dissolves as you use it to brush your teeth and by theory you have sparkling teeth and fresh breath on the go. There's even a handy little pick you can use!

How Does It Rate?

I would have to say that this would score a C- on my tests. Not quite flunking but nothing to write home about. While it does clean my teeth just fine, the overwhelming, almost bitter after taste dominates. It's just as easy to pack a toothbrush in your purse.

It does come in three flavors (peppermint, spearmint and cinnamon) and comes four to a pack. Opening it up is simple, and it really does fit in your pocket or purse well. I don't think the positives would go on further though. Remember - there's a little ball of a...
...

MRSverret says "Have clean teeth on the go" about Colgate Wisp Disposable Toothbrush

I picked up a four pack of Colgate Wisps from Walgreen's, I paid around $2 for them. I liked the idea of having a "toothbrush" in my purse to keep handy. You never know when you might need one.

The Colgate Wisp comes in a convenient little pack. Each brush is individually sealed to maintain its freshness. The pack folds up like a little book and has two toothbrushes on each side.

The Colgate Wisps are only about 2 1/2 inches long and one side has a brush with a bead inside. When the bead is busted it releases the breath freshener. The bristles of the brush aren't soft. They're actually pretty hard. The are much different from the ones on regular toothbrushes. The other side is a hard rubber point which acts like a pick. There is no water or rinsing needed. Just brush and go!

They come in a few different flavors but I chose the spearmint. Overall the product is pretty good with a few minor flaws. I think that the bead inside of the brush is just a little hard to break. I actually...
...

philosolaw says "Great for camping!" about Colgate Wisp Disposable Toothbrush

We took a pack of the Wisps on our recent camping trip with us and they were excellent; very convienent with no need for water, and the brush has just enough "toothpaste" on it to get you a clean feeling. The pick end of the brush works great too! We definitely enjoyed the spearmint and cinnamon flavors.

This product appears to be a tad bit overpriced at $1.99 though... at 0.50/brush it can get pretty costly to depend on these constantly. I would recommend saving this purchase for traveling, a backup for the glove box or just a brush for your purse so you don't have to make room for a traditional brush and tube of paste.
...

My teeth are important to me I've spent a lot of money on them and I'm going to treat them good. I used to carry around a travel toothbrush, a tube of sample toothpaste and box of floss with me everywhere I went but now all I do is buy a few packets of Colgate Wisp Disposable Toothbrushes and I'm good to go. I don't have to worry about carrying out a damp travel toothbrush, have pastey water drops in my purse or toothpaste tubes that burst in my glove compartment. I can have fresh breath whenever, wherever!! Wisps are the perfect size and are convienent to have a few brushs in my purse, some in the car and a few more in my desk. They are easy to use with or without water. I've started carrying around more Wisps with me because when I'm out with friends they see how perfect a product it is and they want to try it out themselves! They come in spearmint, cinnamint and my favorite peppermint.
...

I first discoved Colgate Wisp when my son was in the hospital for an emergency. My friend brought them to me, and I was skeptical. You really don't even need water! I was suprised at how refreshed my mouth was.
...

this2shallpass19 says "Clean teeth AND fresh breath!" about Colgate Wisp Disposable Toothbrush

The other day I ate a Greek gyro with tons of fresh onion. After I ate it, I had horrible onion breath. I wasn't at home, so I couldn't just brush my teeth and floss like I normally would have done. I remembered that I had just purchased the Colgate Wisp a couple days prior and put one in my purse, so I found a bathroom to try out my new product.

The Colgate Wisp is a small, disposable toothbrush that contains a dental pick on one end of the handle and a mini toothbrush on the other. In the center of the toothbrush is a small, hard "freshening bead". The toothbrush is very small and has mini bristles surrounding the freshening bead. Each Colgate Wisp is for a one-time use. When you are finished using it, just toss it. There is no water or rinsing necessary.

I took one Colgate Wisp out of the package and began to brush my teeth with it. At first I thought the bristles were too fine and the toothbrush head was too small, but it allowed to me reach all of my teeth easily. ...
...

bristles are to stiff

brush is way too small

freshning bead is too strong

made me feel like I swallowed Listerine (mouth wash)

not conveniant to carry (pick at one end)

I have a travel size trush brush that is way more useful than these.

Waste of money!
...

Part of the fun of ordering from Drugstore.com is that sometimes whoever packs your order will throw in a free introductory sample of a new product and so it came to pass that, as I was unpacking a shipment the other day, I ended up staring riveted at something I had never seen before ... the Colgate Wisp Disposable Toothbrush. This was a new one on me and that is unusual since I am a veteran of many survey sites and know all about most products before they even appear in the stores. I have got to admit that I would have never dreamt that someone would come up with the Wisp. It seemed bizarre to me but the siren song of getting a chance to review something else was too strong to resist. With some difficulty, I wrested the little rascal from its plastic bubble wrap and carefully proceeded to use it. I won't sugar-coat it -- suffice to say that brushing with the Colgate Wisp Disposable Toothbrush was one of my worst oral care experiences since the day I ran out of toothpaste and...
...
