I tried Cold Stone first in Omaha and was hooked ever since. The first time i just tried the plain ice cream which was kind of ok. So if you wanrt to eat just plain ice cream you might want to skip this but what you should and must try here are their specials.

They mix ice cream with almost everything fvfrom nuts to wafer to candies to brownies. You can get fresh fruits in you ice cream to and you need to pick a size.

There is Like it, Love it and Gotta have it and the size increases by the type. So what I took was the Love it and trust me i could not eat it all it was so full. What i would suggest is to try the Owners Special. Its rocks totally.

They also throw the ice cream in Air and then one of them catches it in the cone which is fun. And they may break into a Flinstones song so dont be surprised. A place which will be always loved by Kids and us too ;)

This wonderful creation is action packed and just right for the nutty/chocolate lovers of the world. Mud Pie Mojo is a signature creation at Cold Stone. It features: Coffee ice cream, crushed Oreo's, Peanut Butter (which I substitute for Caramel), Roasted Almonds and Hot Fudge.

If you haven't tried it then go today, you should....

Kdavissa says "Great ice cream, poor management" about Cold Stone Creamery - Oswego, IL

We love Cold Stone Ice Cream, but the Oswego, IL store is dirty and disorganized. The service some evenings is really bad due to poor management - it seems. Long lines, and dirty counters make it unappetizing. We just went tonight when it was calm and there were receipts strung along counters, condiments all over and, ice cream dripping from the cabinets, etc. I asked for the manager and the teen behind the counter said she never came in. My kids use to love the showmanship and singing behind the counter, but they don't do that anymore......

I didn't get what is so special about cold stone ice cream. To me it had non specific sweet taste where you couldn't really tell what flavor you were eating. Also, let's talk process and price. You wait forever because everyone is creating an oh so special treat, and then you get the bill and it's crazy to pay that much for ice cream. Portions are huge and it's lost on kids who can't even finish it. Did I miss something, because I just don't get it. Sorry.......

One trip to Cold Stone was enough to cure my curiousity. I didn't find the quality to be any different than any other chain ice cream purveyor,( with the possible exception of Oberweiss, which has the highest milk fat content of ice cream than any other ice cream made in the United States-richness that you can taste, see and feel) I didn't really feel that I had the range of choice as I did at Baskin 31. And I somehow just didn't like the counter person treating my ice cream like a Japanese sushi chef with mahi mahi filets....All that scooping, slopping, turning, chopping....have no clue how that was supposed to make my mouth water. My mom used to yell at me for playing with my food, and here the server was doing so before I even got it. It is by no means the same thing as watching a skilled pizza maker twirl dough-so don't even go there, not do I consider it as a skill such as you would see by an old fashioned short order cook in a family diner. All this show and display......

When Cold Stone Creamery first opened in our town, I didn't know much about it. But after one visit, I was hooked! Just walking into the place is like pure heaven. The aroma that fills the air, from all the ice cream and the homemade waffle bowls they make, makes my mouth start watering. It is unlike all other ice cream stores.

But, the menu is so confusing & overwhelming. They have so many different kinds of ice cream. They have the regular stuff, like plain ice cream, or shakes, and sundaes. But then they have my favorite; their Signature Creations. With names like, Birthday Cake Remix, Coffee Lovers Only , Cookie Doughn't You Want Some, Cheesecake Fantasy, Strawberry Banana Rendevous.........among many, MANY others. These creations include ice cream, usually fudge or carmel, cake or cookies, nuts....there are a lot of variations and they're all good.

They also sell cakes. I bought my first one yesterday for my husband's birthday. I got him the Cookies & Cream cake...
...

Okay, I have to admit that I was really excited when I heard that Cold Stone was opening a store close to our Mall. I imagined myself leaving the Mall & dropping by for some delicious ice cream on my way home. My daughter told me they had opened but warned me that they were expensive. But, I thought, what the heck.....good ice cream is worth it.

Well, I take it all back.......stopped by once with hubby & it was so crowded but then, it was new. First off, I glanced at the prices & thought "Wow, for this much it must really be good".

Nope, wrong again. We got our ice cream & went out to eat. I kept looking at hubby wondering if he was enjoying his more than I was but he wasn't. He summed it up....it was okay ice cream. To put it simply, I've tasted better ice cream from Baskin & Robbins & the grocery store. This ice cream is not worth the prices they charge & I don't look for the store to be around long. Already the crowds have dropped off. Don't waste your money. ...
...

I tasted many icecream brand in America. Cold stone is my favourite. They serve a big portion of icecream. It's not too sweet and very rich. I especially like it's chocolate flavour. The staff likes to sing songs while making icecream. I enjoyed listening to them and claping hands. The price is reasonable, too. We go to Cold stone in winter time too.One thing I don't care about it is that the shop is not clean enough.
...

Bottom-Line: We have made our first and last visit to Cold Stone Creamery; cache isn't everything!

Baskin-Robbins is-in my mind and to my taste buds-the pinnacle of ice cream. And with 31 delicious flavors, there is something in the shops repertoire to please even the most discerning palate. The company was established in 1945 and until recently it could boost close to 5,600 stand-a-lone stores in over 40 countries-though I never saw a Baskin-Robbins overseas, sniff, sniff.

But lately I have notice a new ice cream vendor on the block. And as the traditional stand-a-lone Baskin-Robbins storefronts retreat, this new ice cream shop is expanding with small storefronts, mostly in large malls. This new store called Cold Stone Creamery promises to give the more established names a run for their ice cream dollar, so-to-speak.

The Franchise

Cold Stone Creamery, which bills itself as the "Ultimate Ice Cream Experience," was established in 1988 by a couple in Tempe Arizona who allegedly...
...
