great food: sushi is consistently great - fresh, nice selection, appealing
get it: creamy, creamy spicy, crunchy spicy tuna and ebi tempura - never fail
skip it: coast crab - not terrible by any means, but too expensive and not fantastic
risk it: sunrise - love it most of the time, been disappointed a handful of times

atmosphere: atmosphere is nice. back room is better than the front room if you can swing it.

byob: i love that coast is byob. its so nice to have a more upcscale byob restaurant. i suggest make reservations in advance. the wait on a friday or saturday night (even thursdays sometimes) can get lengthy. i actually dont mind waiting sometimes though as they allow you to open your bottles and have a drink while you wait - dont expect a real wine glass though :) i mind waiting even less when a few of the limited seats in the waiting area are available!

delivery: a definite perk, but the coast experience at the restaurant much exceeds my delivery experiences. ...

I love Sushi! The only problem I run into is that my husband is not a fan so I am typically eating sushi as carry out and delivery. The rolls arrive as fresh as they are if you are lucky enough to have them at the restaurant. Coast is a great dinning experience either at home or there. When I do actually get to the restaurant I love to go with girlfriends and share rolls and a bottle of wine. It is byob but no corkage fee so it actually makes going out for a sushi dinner affordable....

My wife and I were thrilled that a few friends recommended we try out Coast. Easily accessible from 90/94, there was no corkage fee for the bottle of wine we brought in and the sushi was excellent. Highly recommend the Sunshine and Volcano rolls in addition to the Hamachi/Jalapeno. Also a huge fan of their spicy miso soup and spinach appetizers. We're going to make this at least a biweekly outing.

Coast has become one of the best sushi spots in town and is no longer just for folks living in Wicker Park and Bucktown. We love the "White Dragon and Volcano Rolls" which set Coast apart from other creative sushi places in town. If you like signature rolls, you must try Coast!

Sushi is quite good here. The pieces are not paper thin slices of fish atop a mound of rice. The atmosphere is casual and modern....

Coast is a great sushi restaurant in the Damen/Armitage area of Bucktown. The atomsphere is relaxed, modern, and dark and the sushi is top notch. The only minor downside is that it's BYOB, and we never remember that. Of course, there's a liquor store a block away if you need to snag a quick bottle of wine....
