This is the greatest DVD player you can own. It filters profanity and nudity from movies so you can enjoy with your family. There are levels you can set for blood, gore, profanity, nudity, etc. This is a must have for families.

I purchased the Clearplay dvd player in November of 2008. I too have tried many ways to view movies without all the language etc. I thought this sounded like a good idea. After 4 weeks of trying to get the DVD player to work I gave up and returned it to the store. I was never able to get the player to recognize the filters. I have called Clearplay 8 times and only received one call back. Their customer service is terrible. When the DVD player played regular dvd's the picture faded in and out. I think the quality of the player is very low. Save your money! While this may be a good idea they still have some major issues to work out!...

The Clearplay has clearly been the worst consumer experience I have ever experienced. I have experienced problems with every aspect of their product. These problems include website malfunction, unclear instructions, non-responsive telephone tech support, uneducated tech support both through e-mail and telephone, a corrupt filter stick (how does this happen out of the box?), software that doesn't work and is extremely difficult to use (both PC and Mac solutions are horrible), and DVD player that is both cheap and non-functioning (after two replacements a product should work)! What a fantastic idea but implementation has been nothing but a nightmare. I have spent over 20 hours of my precious time trying to get this product to work. It just hasn't. I would not purchase this product, nor recommend doing any business with their company. I can't even cancel my membership over the phone because their phone system doesn't work properly. I have had to call my credit card company to put...

My first Clearplay DVD player broke within a month. It had been sensitive the whole time, skipping, freezing, etc, but when it broke I was able to return it to Target for a replacement. The replacement broke within 2 months, but after the 1 month replacement policy at Target. I didn't use the player, and ten months later, Clearplay automatically charged my credit card for a renewal subscription (which I had NEVER authorized). I have been trying to get them to cancel my account and reverse the charge for the last month, but their customer service line puts their "current customers" on hold for over 30 minutes, and they refuse to cancel an account over the internet. This company is deceitful, their product is cheaply made, and they don't give a d**n about you!...

Fresh out of the box, and our June 2008 Clear-Play is unable to play a clean DVD straight through without crashing [ video locks up, exits to 'C' screen, unit re-loads, and starts the DVD as if for the first time (60 seconds)]. This is with No-filtering options engaged. There are routinely 6 to 20 crashes per video.

Watched Miss Congeniality, Clearplay device recognized video, listed incomplete objectional material (limited to revealing clothing), but basically no filtering was present. All offensive language got through on highest filter exclusion settings.

This is a very great DVD player. Its very compact so that can fit any where. Also it has a very good performance. It contains great functionalities. And the most thing is that it is very user friendly system. it has a latest technology in use. Look and feel wise also a great. Come in trendy colours....

The clearplay service is simply outstanding. It allows my kids to watch movies that they otherwise wouldn't (Superman, Batman, Star Wars 3, even LoTR) and allows my wife and I to watch R rated movies that we otherwise wouldn't. The only problem that we've had is that the player is rather touchy and we've had it freeze a couple times. My mom got one and had to send it back after 2 weeks as it just would not read any disks.

The best part of it is the ability to tell it which things to filter out (nudity, bloodshed, language) and each allows you to set a level at which to filter. When it works, and it usually does, it's great!...

We have enjoyed the editing of movies with our DVD player. However, it is very sensitive and tends to skip a bit, even having to skip whole scenes sometimes. However, we are really disappointed because two days after the 90 day warranty expired, the DVD player stopped being able to read discs. It has been freezing more and more frequently. After the last freeze, it either says that the disc is not playable or it shuts the power off. I'm not sure how much this will cost to fix. We're waiting to hear from the Clearplay customer service. If customer service is responsive, we might fix it. Otherwise, we might just see if we can't get some of the yearly membership fee back and just right it off as a loss.

I have tried several different ways to be able to enjoy movies with my family that are free from nudity and profanity. I greatly appreciate the work of the people at ClearPlay. They make it hassle-free to enjoy good entertainment. In addition, their customer support is real and very helpful....

The Clearplay - CP 007 USB is wonderful for people who are concerned about the amount of immorality contained in todays movies. Our family avoids swearing, immodest clothing, sex outside of marriage, and excessive violence, and we don't want to watch movies that glorify these things. Since we love movies, Clearplay has provided us the opportunity to watch what we want without worrying that our standards will be compromised. This is the second Clearplay DVD player that we have owned (we only upgraded to be able to take advantage of the great USB download system in the new ones) and we will never have another type of DVD player in our home. We recommend Clearplay to all of our friends if the subject of movies comes up.

The player comes with a USB flash drive (they call it a filter stick) that makes downloading filters extremely fast and easy. We thought it was actually inside the box when we first brought ours home, but the company mails the filter stick when you register your DVD......

We purchased a Clearplay DVD player to edit out undesirable content from movies. It is wonderful to select how much nudity, language, violence, etc is included in the things we watch. We used to subscribe to the monthly plan, but recently just downloaded a bunch of movies, so canceled the subscription, since this will keep us occupied for a while.

The players are now available at Target stores. I would recommend purchasing one from the store as the on-line site has logistics problems with keeping players in stock. We had to wait a couple of weeks to get our replacement player because of the stocking issues, yet they were in stock at our local Target store.

The customer service is very good and they respond promptly to telephone calls.
