Vendzilla says "I got ripped off" about Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium Watch

I bought one of the first eco-drives, a Titanium one, I loved this watch for about 7 years, 2 years past the warranty.

Here's the problem, the "Power Cell" Stopped holding a charge, I've taken it back to the jeweler a couple times while under warranty and they found nothing wrong with it, when it completely died, I told them I wanted it fixed, Citizen said it had to replace the movement and the power cell, how convenient? For $140, I've looked on some watch web sites and I can find a new one for about $300. I think that even if it was just the power cell, they would still want to charge for the movement as well, this is a rip off!

I'll never buy one of those watches again, they say on the website you'll never have to buy another battery again, they lied!
...

SteveB says "Never change a watch battery again.." about Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium Watch

I admit that I am a watch freak; I own eighteen watches. I would now happily give away foutreen of them. Got tired of changing batteries.

I bought my first Eco-Drive four years ago. It is the titanium Skyhawk, extremely lightweight and digital/analog. I now have my 300M diver's watch (dove to 130 feet), a dress watch, and a titanium calendar. These are great watches; you never need to change the battery, because they are solar powered.

If you want a reliable timepiece that you don't have to worry over, Citizen Eco-Drive is it.
...

chrislaver says "Best watch I have ever owned..." about Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium Watch

I have had two of these watches - the first I inadvertantly took on a deep dive and managed to flood it. (Note WR 100 does not mean you should take it on dives).

The second had an issue with the internal battery about a year after I bought it. Citizen replaced it and had it returend to me within 10 days. They have very efficient warranty service.

I am a bit clumsy, so bash it on things all the time - both the band and the watch face do not show wear.

Overall quite a reliable watch for a much more reasonable price than the big-name brands.
...
