I've always enjoyed nature and products of nature. Having a few green plants in my office makes the time spent there more enjoyable and also makes the office look a little greener! My oldest plant is the big granddaddy Chlorophytum comosum or Spider plant as you may know it. It's huge and has been in my office for almost 20 years now.

Chlorophytum comosum is the scientific name for this plant. It is commonly known as a Spider plant. It has thin green leaves with white or cream stripes and sprouts off shoots that can be up to 24 inches long. At the bottom of the shoots is where you will find the "baby plant" which will grow into a full size Spider plant. You can leave the babies hanging for decoration or propogate them to make new Spider plants.

To propogate a "baby" plant, just snip it off and either plant it immediatey in a small pot and water it or stick it in a container or glass with water. Either way, the plant will root and you will have another start to a Spider plant.......
