TwinMommy2008 says "Love it, Love it, Love it!" about Chicco Hippo Hook On High Chair

Where do I start?! I LOVE THE CHICCO HIPPO HOOK ON SEAT! When my twins were old enough to start sitting in high chairs, we went to a couple of different restaurants. At one restaurant, they had NO high chairs. Another, they were all being used. Still another restaurant only had 1 and that doesn't work with twins. So, I knew that I had to get my own. I wanted a seat that I could take ANYWHERE with me.

I began researching hook on seats and kept coming back to this one. The reviews were pretty good and it looked comfortable. At $50 per seat, it seemed a bit pricey so I waited until Babies R' Us had a sale on boosters, stacked my coupons with rewards bucks and my twins discount......and ended up getting them BOGO!

I LOVE THEM! My girls are happy sitting in them. They are comfortable, STABLE, easy to set up and are SO cute! Every time I use them, we have several people stop to ask about them. They work on tables up to 6 inches wide. The only restaurant that I've found that they wouldn't work...
...

sweetserendipity says "Chicco Hook On Chair a better alternative to a bulky high chair." about Chicco Hippo Hook On High Chair

The Chicco Hippo Hook On Chair has been a life saver in our house. As a mom of 3 young kids who have quickly outgrown our space, I love that this chair takes up very little space. It simply hooks onto the side of the table. No legs to trip over, no bulky high chair to store. It folds very small and is easy to take along when visiting friends or family or eating out. It is easy to use and the seat cover is stain resistant. Of course, toddlers are messy eaters, so when it does get dirty you can wipe it clean with a damp cloth, or simply unsnap it, remove the seat cover (which snaps over the support bars, and throw it in the wash.

We have been using this seat for almost a year now and my 19 month old really seems to like it. It is nice to be able to have him right at the table with the rest of us, which is where he really wants to be. With the three part lap belt and sturdy design this seat is secure. I don't worry about him falling or climbing out.

I am so glad we bought this seat and I...
...

This was my favorite summer item of all. The chair hooked on to picnic tables everywhere. We also used it in our travel trailer where space is always an issue. We had plenty of floor space because of the hippo chair. I would recommend it to all campers....

MinD111 says "Miles beyond the old style! Can't live without!" about Chicco Hippo Hook On High Chair

We had an older model for our oldest child. This one surpasses it by miles. The cloth seat is so much more comfortable, easy cleaning, easy transport. Only downfall, it is quite difficult to get the seat on/off of the support frame to wash. Chicco could have fashioned that a little better. This seat has saved us many times when going out to dinner at busy restaurants that are 'out of' high chairs. Convenience at its best! We couldn't live without this chair!...

I bought this chair last month after getting fed up with those awful wooden high chairs. My daughter loves sitting in this chair, I think mostly because she is right up to the table with everyone else. It does take a minute to set up but the more I use it the faster I get at it. You also have to be careful of the table you put it on, you don't want it to tip over. We always get comments on how great it is when we use it, it really is a nice looking chair....

I was so excited to get this so we could take our daughter out to eat without having to worry about high chairs. Well, I don't know if I got a bum unit, but it won't fold easily, there's no way you're getting the item back into it's carrying case once you've used it, and I never felt like the chair was 100% secured to a table. We bought a high chair cover and are super happy using that instead....

We absolutely love this item! It has allowed us to eat out with our baby without any fuss! Our son grew out of his infant carrier long before he could sit up. We would have to hold him when we went out. We started taking this seat with us (he could hold his head up and sit supported with help) to eat out. We usually ask for a booth then attach it next to us, so he isn't out in the aisle. We have a suction cup toy that we keep with it to keep him occupied. I put him in a resturant high chair once. It was dirty and gross. I feel much better putting him in this seat instead. We take this product with us everywhere. We love it. ...

redstarr97 says "Nice chair if your tightfor space" about Chicco Hippo Hook On High Chair

Well if your tight on space this is a good match...although it doesn't fit all tables. it's easy to carry on the go with it's carrying bag. A good buy for your money. I decided to go with this seat because I didn't want the big bulky high chair like I used for my first child and it is much better than the portable seat from first years. I don't have to worry about those restaraunt high chairs. But it does take some time to learn how to open and close it....

julbug says "great for travel, easy to clean" about Chicco Hippo Hook On High Chair

I shopped around for a long time before deciding on this chair. I really liked the idea of having a clean seat for a baby wherever we went. Relying on restaurants to keep their highchairs clean and in safe working order is not a risk I'm comfortable taking for my children. I used to work in restaurants, ask me how I know.
The chair is much more sturdy than the Regalo Easy Diner and stores relatively flat in a convenient carry bag with a shoulder strap. It does take a little practice to get the setup process down quickly. Go through it a few times at home before stashing it in the car. Of course make sure any table you affix it to is sturdy and well-balanced and keep glassware and steak knives out of the little one's reach.
We've taken this chair eight hours away to a family reunion and it definitely took up a lot less room in the van than a full-sized high chair. We've hooked it to the end of picnic tables and washed it (in the washing machine!) several times and it still looks brand......

I like this chair!

We don't use it for every day, but take it when we're going out. Folds flat for easy storage, easy to take apart to clean. Relatively easy to use, but doesn't always fit on every table (if they have a big frame, it may not work) Be careful if you have a table with folding ends - it can't go on the ends or the parts than fold!!!!!!

My son had a bit of a problem with it until he learned to sit up well on his own, but we used some towels in front of him to keep him from sliding forwards.

...

Jessica says "Chicco offers a small, stylish alternative to high chairs." about Chicco Hippo Hook On High Chair

This style of feeding seat attaches to a table by a hook or clamp that presses against the underside of the table and two arms that counter the weight on top of the table. The Chicco Hippo seat works with a clamp that can hold your table in a vise-like grip. The ends of the arms are a pair of hippos. I'm vehemently against juvenilia in my dining room (or just about anywhere, for that matter) and usually avoid little animals, but the all-black Chicco hippos almost have sculptural appeal.

When my daughter was under a year old, I liked using this chair at home because the baby could sit with us during meals. My baby behaved noticeably better when she got to sit near us in her hook-on chair while we ate. She didn't act up as much for attention because she felt more included, and she didn't squirm around as much because I think she was more comfortable than in the high chair. Now that she is two and a half, she has fairly good table manners for her age and understands that meals are social...
...
