I was looking for an affordable system with a strong safety rating. I loved the fact that I didn't have to buy everything separately. While my friend chose to buy a fancy Bugaboo stroller, I loved my Chicco because I could snap the infant seat into the stroller and pull both canopies over my baby to create a little cocoon. All she had was a clip-on umbrella for her expensive stroller. My only complaints are that the infant seat is heavy even WITHOUT the baby in it. Also, you can't really use the stroller basket while the seat back is reclined to accommodate the infant seat. Still, it's a great overall system.
...

This travel system was the best purchase out of all our baby gear! We had no problems assembling, installing or learning how to use the system as soon-to-be parents! It was incredible! The stroller rides like a dream and all the fabric pieces emerge from the washing machine looking brand new! We also loved that when we had a piece broken on the stroller by an airline, Chicco's customer service was incredible to work with! I've never been so pleased with an item in all my life! We've recommended Chicco to everyone who's asked us what travel system to get for their new baby, hands down!
...

steph80 says "Chicco Travel System was the best baby-shower present ever" about Chicco Cortina Travel System

The Chicco Travel System I received for my baby shower was the best present ever! I loved it and still do, only very little bad things to say. Overall for the pricy cost it's a good buy. The thing that made it different from the others was the weigh, very light! I can close it quickly with one hand and a knee (if I am holding my baby) and lift it with only one hand only to put it in the trunk of the car... now that's cool! Also I like that many parts come off for easy washer cleaning and the colors are nice too, I have the green and grey one. It has also a tray that comes off that it a nice plus and some storage room on the bottom and on mom's tray too! The canopy is nice, little short but at least it move all the way in front of the baby in case of strong wind or something you want to spare him (I used it with a strong wind and he kept sleeping).

The only bad things are that it's one of the most expensive (but worth it) and that sometimes some things (like the tray or the handle) get...
...

FlipflopsNH says "The best travel system on the market!" about Chicco Cortina Travel System

I have nannied for a large number of families, so in turn I have been able to "test out" many travel systems. From Graco to Maclaren and all that's inbetween. This Chicco system is by far the best I have ever used! When a friend of mine had a baby last year, she purchased this system after extensive research. It is rated highly in safety, and is able to be used up to 30 pounds!

The adjustable handle makes it possible to be comfortable in any situation, or could also be ideal for parents who vary greatly in height. The infant seat can get to be heavy towards the end of the 30 pound mark, but at that point you should be able to take the child in and out of hte car without having the infant seat in tow.

The stroller is plenty big enough with an undercarriage storage basket for all day outings. The tires are rugged and allow for travel on almost any surface including beach sand. The system is easy to fold, although it does take up a good amount of space.
...

pearsej says "Chicco is the best for transitioning through multiple stages" about Chicco Cortina Travel System

When I was still pregnant, I did a lot of research on travel systems because I wanted an infant car seat and stroller in one that could be used for a few years without my daughter outgrowing the entire system. There were lots of systems that were recommended, but in my childbirth class, it was an overwhelming preference toward the Chicco Cortina. I followed their advice and got the Chicco and I am still happy with it today, with my daughter being almost 17 months old. I used the infant car seat for a little over a year until she reached the weight limit. I loved it because my daughter was slightly premature and was especially small. With its newborn insert, she fit snugly and safely despite her small size. As she grew, we removed the insert and it continued to work well until she reached the weight limit. It was easy to get her in and out of the infant car seat and the seat itself removed easily from the car and snapped into the stroller base, another convenience. Since she has outgrown...
...

JunoDolly says "Totally awesome travel system, well worth the money! " about Chicco Cortina Travel System

As an experienced parent I know that a good stroller and car seat are really important. I purchased this car seat and stroller system ( Chicco Cortina ) after I had purchased a system from baby trend which I ended up returning. The stroller is extemely light weight and durable, it folds easy, the seat is comfy for baby and the ride is smooth, it has shocks which most strollers dont ususally come with. It can turn on a dime with an adjustable handle for comfort. Great for parents of varying heights.

The car seat itself is a little on the heavy side but you can tell that is because it is well made. Both the stroller and the carseat come standard with a headrest and belt covers. So you don't need to purchase those seperately. The car seat also has a little level indicator on the side which is great for first time and novice parents in guiding you on installation. The base for the car seat installs really easy, it has the latch system belts, you just level it out, latch and go.

Overall...
...

Chicco's sahara car seat is a very good car seat. i am commpletely satiefied with it... easy to clean and best for its value... my baby luved to travel coz of the comfort it provided.... as its not fabric its easy to clean... i have its travel system so it fits well in the stroller as well... the incline is perfect for baby to feed and sleep. we travelled with my 3 months old for long trips like 400 miles one way and he enjoyed the ride.

the only prob is with the weight limit... we had to get a new front facing car seat as my son was only 22 lbs but cud not sit as his legs touched the seat.. and all front facing car seat have wt recomendation of 25 or 30 lbs onwwards... so it was difficult to adjust for 1 month...

but i would still recomend this as its cheap and very safe. and the quality is excellent... if i have a second child i can still use this as its as gud as new....
...

The Chicco Sahara is one of the greatest travel systems out on the market. The colors are great and so is the design. Lots of sturdy parts not a lot of plastic that can break or crack. Very stylish looking as well. Great washable fabric. Very easy to adjuststraps for growing kids. Easy install base. The stroller is a little tricky to fold and unfold at first until you get the hang of it. Rolls like a gem and there are locks on all the whells not just the back ones. Two cup holders are a big plus.
...

I loved the Sahara Chicco infant car seat and travel system. It received excellent reviews and was one of the safest car seats on the market at the time. My son always seemed very comfortable. I loved that it came with extra inserts for newborns and that they were very easy to remove as he grew. The straps were easy to move as he got bigger and it was a cinch to loosen and tighten for every day use. It was light weight to carry even with the baby in it. The car seat snapped in to the stroller real easy. The car seat wont snap onto a grocery cart and some people didn't like that. But I thought it was smart because it seems dangerous to put a baby up that high when the grocery cart could topple over easily. Overall I was very satisfied with the travel system and car seat. My son has since grown out of it and into a larger car seat but we will be using this one for the next baby that comes along. I would recommend it to anyone!
...

My daughter bought the Chicco Cortina Travel System for my granddaughter. My, oh, my! Strollers and car seats have come a long way!! I was impressed with the ease with which this can convert from car seat to baby carrier to stroller seat. My biggest wish would be for this to also become a car seat for an older child (front facing car seat) because of the expense of purchasing another car seat once the child is older. Meanwhile, they are very happy with this product. The safety factor alone is reason enough to purchase this. They were told by a hospital worker that the car seat is equal to the safety of a race-car drivers safety seat! The stroller is so easy to push and it's wonderful to be able to easily click the baby carrier in and out of the stroller.
...

I absolutely love this stroller! I have a 4 month old daughter and we have used it since she was born. It's light weight, easy to compact and unfold, and easily cleaned. I would recommend this to anyone! One of the only con's is that the fabric they used causes her to get very sweaty even in the winter. It also doesn't fit in most shopping carts. It is more expensive than some of the other strollers like Graco and Evenflow, but I found that they make up for it in quality.
...

We LOVE the Chicco Cortina travel system. I bought it becuase both my husband and I are tall (I'm 5'9") so I wanted a stroller where I wouldn't have to bend forward to push it. That said, sometimes a friend will push the stroller and can adjust the handle height easily for someone shorter. With 1 hand on the handle, your other hand releases the car seat, and it's easy to transfer in and out of the car and stroller.

The car seat base is easy to install and uses the LATCH system. If your car doesn't have LATCH there's a clip for using a regular seat belt.

THe infant seat clicks in and out of the stroller. Once they out grow the infant seat, the stroller is great. Folds up easily (with 1 lever pull). The Stroller seat is adjustable and can be reclined all the way back if they are sleeping. There is storage below and storage by the handles including a cup holder. THe car seat has a sunshade, as does the stroller. The stroller shade has a plastic window so you can see them......
