Sou says "No foam & makes me break out" about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

I bought Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser because I had read in a magazine that it wouldn't make me break out or get my skin oily. I have a very dry skin, but some facial cleansers make my skin oily and I break out. The first time I used Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, it didn't foam at all ; so I put some more soap on my face, but it still didn't foam. It felt like I was washing my face with plain water ... Not to mention that my skin didn't feel clean at all and got very oily. The next day, I had a few zits on my face! I kept using it for a few more days, just to see if it would improve or get worse. And sure enough, it didn't get any better ... Luckily, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is not very expensive. It costs around six dollars. But it's never cool to have to toss a facial cleanser because it makes you break out or gets your skin oily. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser doesn't have any fragrance either, which I didn't like either.
...

Jo says "Cetaphil is a gentle skin cleanser but not so gentle on animals" about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

To the Point

I have been using the Obagi System for close to three years. I decided to try something knew and was told to use a gentle skin cleanser. I bought Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for all skin types.

A Closer View

Cetaphil advertises itself as a cleaner for every age, every stage and for every day. It claims to be a mild, non-irritating formula which softens as it cleans.

It claims to address the dryness caused by topical medications used in the treatment of acne, fine lines and wrinkles thus the reason it was recommended by my new product. I paid about $14.00 for a 16- fluid ounce plastic pump jar. That may sound like a lot but I need very little of this clear thin lotion. It washes the makeup off my skin well and afterward my skin feels soft and smooth - there is no feeling of dryness.

Other Information

Cetaphil is made in Canada and tests on animals.

On the website we read "This cleanser is gentle on your skin and sensitive to your skin's needs. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser...
...

I have about a half dozen other cleansers around the house that I picked up on clearance, coupon or free with purchase. (Confessed sale addict) I will try or use them once or twice out of desperation if I've run out of Cetaphil - but can't find anything else that removes the makeup, and especially, the mascara with such ease. No burning pain. Leaves kkin clean and soft. Use up the other stuff by putting it in the guest bathroom, or using it for handsoap......

As I get older I am more concerned about my skin and its condition. At a recent visit to my dermatologist I was diagnosed with rosacea. My dermatologist recommended Metrogel. They gave me a sample and a prescription. The Metrogel sample was accompanied by a sample of Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Wash. It is a double promotion and when I went to fill my prescription I also received an even bigger sample of the Cetaphil.

I am so impressed by this product. It is so gentle, yet it leaves my face feeling clean and soft. It smells slightly medicinal, but it doesn't linger. The only reason it smells the way it does is because they don't add any harsh chemicals to make it smell better. Kudos to them!

I purchased a full size bottle with a pump for easy dispensing. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great face wash product.
...

As a person who has endured a lifetime of severe eczema, I can attest to the fact that Cetaphil is the gentlest, non-irritating cleanser on the market. My dermatologist (who is one of the world's most prominent) recommended this for cleansing my painfully irritated skin. The cleanser is gentler than plain water. Even if you only suffer from dry skin, you''l find that Cetaphil will cleanse your skin without stripping it of precious oil. It is a little pricey, but don' be tempted to use a generic version that cliams to be same thing. It's not. I made that mistake once and bought my grocery store's version of Cetaphi. It was definitely irritating....

I have dry skin and my husband has sensative skin... so in comes our baby with BOTH. Poor little girl!

We were using Mustela, and still swear by it! It cleared up her baby acne and smells so good! But she developed excema that wasn't just going away. Our Dr suggested this, so we finally switched. It's been a week and you can barely see where the (half dollar sized) spot was! And her skin is so soft and clean! We still use Mustella on her body, but Cetaphyl is working so well on her face, we might just switch completely! And I'm starting to use it myself!

My personal cleanser is Bath & Body Work's Milk Thistle. I love it! It keeps my acne at bay and moisturizes wonderfully while wiping out makeup, and it smells so great.

I'm going to try this, though... we'll see if it works as well on adult skin as it does on the wee-obe's :)
...

This product makes my skin soft and smooth. I have tried multiple products from scrubs to gels to creams and after trying this I will never use anything else. It makes my skin soft and smooth and ready for makeup without using a moisturizer. While it costs a little more in the store the money saved on moisturizer makes it actually a bargain!...

I love this product, especially in the winter months. I have sensitive skin and it does not irritate my skin - in fact, it helps calm my skin if it's irritated. It is extremely gentle and can be used either with or without water. If you use without water and wipe off gently, it leaves a slight layer that helps moisturize your skin. I would definitely recommend this product, as it has helped my sensitive skin, sometimes prone to breaking out, become less sensitive....

Well I'm certainly not an expert on skin cleansers...I know what works for me. For years I tried many different facial cleaners and all of them left one problem time after time. Although my complexion is normally oily, after using other products I would have obvious dry patches on my forehead and around my nose. As I listen to the radio in the shower, I heard an announcer suggest to Bruce Willis ....Cetaphil for dry skin. I am very happy to say I use it daily and my skin neither too oily or dry.
...

I used to be a dedicated user of Mary Kay skin care, however, my dermatologist told me that I didn't need this fancy skin care line, all that I needed was Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Cetaphil is much more affordable than Mary Kay and does a really great job with my acne prone skin. It is not overdrying and is very gentle. The only fault that I have found, is that sometimes, it doesn't completely remove stubborn makeup, but after reapplication, my skin is very clean....
