I am not a cruise lover because I think you have limited time at the ports of call but this Alaskan cruise was adifferent experience. Its not like a cruise in the Caribbean were all you see is water til you get to your destination here you are constantly looking at beautiful scenery. I also had the opportunity to see wildlife throughout the cruise. Best part of the trip was probably our visit to Hubber Glacier. Wow! is probably the only way I can describe it. We were right there. The staff on Celebrity was great as well. From the waiter staff to the people that made up the rooms they were all great. They also had an environmentalist (I forget his name) talking about all the wildlife we would see in Alaska and he was great (an I'm not an a very green person) but he was very funny and informative. If I had to say one negative about the cruise is the length of stay at the ports especially at Ketchikan. In Juneau we went on a whale watching cruise and were able to see over a dozen whales as...
...

Celebrity Cruises was great. The staff was attentive. The food was great. Our family aged 2 to 73 years of age enjoyed it. There was something for everyone. Alaska is a great place to visit. With the economy, USA is the way to go. Keep your money in the USA.
...

Just returned July 2008, from a Celebrity cruise to Alaska on the Infinity. We were tremendouly disappointed. The food was awful, the best meal we had was off the ship at a crab excursion. Our concierge level room was dirty, the couch was torn, the glitter from the last passengers dress was all over the furniture. The fresh fruit promised to us in our stateroom was the left over buffet fruit.

Our waiter and asst. waiter never had time for us, to get refills on water and ice tea, took major work. The food portions were small and tasteless. T

The entertainment ws very amateurish, almost like a school production. There were 2 wonderful hire wire entertainers that performed for about 10 minutes total on the cruise.
...

My wife and I went on the Alaskan cruise to Hubbard Glacier back in the summer of '06 and it was amazing. The cruise staff were all so friendly. The sights were breathtaking. The food was never-ending and mostly top-notch. I cannot wait to go on another cruise with Celebrity. The places we stopped at were beautiful; Ketchian, Juneau, Sitka, & Hubbard Glacier. The glacier was an awesome sight to see. My one peeve with the cruise was that my wife and I could not participate in the 'Newlywed Game' as we were not chosen. They chose four couples to play, picked by years of marriage: 1 couple from newlywed to married 8 years, another from 9 years to X years, and so on. The couple that was chosen from our catagory had been married eight years and had three kids already, meanwhile we had been married a day and a half as did another couple there, yet neither of us were picked. The first category should have bee for those married a year or less. Celebrity cruises never dd respond......

I went on the Infinity in July 2007 on a 7 night cruise to Alaska. Overall, I thought the trip was well worth the money. Best of all, I also redeemed miles through United Airlines and got a free airplane ride to Vancouver (port of departure). The cruise cost around $800 dollars for the 7 nights. The flight was free. I also stayed in Vancouver for the night before the cruise and the night after the cruise ended.

Going into the cruise, I was really excited to do nature related activities, see the glaciers, and experience what many have described a "valued" cruise for a mid budget cruise line. Celebrity has consistently been ranked as a great mid priced cruise line that has value for what you pay. It is also known as a cruise line that caters to older folks and not neccesarily younger children and teenagers.

I'm an early/mid twenties professional and for me this cruise was perfect. They also had excellent food selection for the price range that this cruise was offered to me. They had a healthy...
...

This cruise was great in every way except geared to an older and affluent clientele. I traveled with a girlfriend of mine and we are in our early forties. We were just about the youngest ones on the ship. It was a little to fancy for two women our age. The nightclub on board was dead by eleven o'clock. The cabin was perfect. It was well worth the added expense to upgrade to a cabin with a veranda. I would recommend paying more for a better cabin to everyone. 12 days on a ship is a long time to be in a cramped cabin with just a porthole. The food was just mouthwatering. Instead of the breakfast buffet I recommend getting to the formal dining room for a sitdown breakfast from the menu. You must be there by 9:00 am. There are less expensive cruises out there but this one is first class all the way....

Celebrity's 2 week cruise out of San Diego and then circling the Island's is one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had. The ship is stunning, the service great, the food terrific and plentiful, the ports of call interesting, although time there seemed too short sometimes.

The one drawback was stormy seas on the crossing to Hawaii. Swimming pools and hot tubs closed due to waves.

The movies were good on board. The shows are Broadway quality.

Room service is impecable.

I want to go again!

Janice
...

Mtngirly says "Great Weekend from San Francisco up to Vancouver" about Celebrity Cruises - Infinity

My husband and I went on this cruise in June 2006 from San Francisco to Vancouver. This was one of the short trips as they were moving the ship from one area to another

The biggest tip I have is take the tours before the boat departs. We decided to do a "spa introduction" and as a result, we were able to buy a spa package for the entire trip for the price of a single day pass by going on this tour!! We absolutely loved the spa aboard the Infinity as they had a wide variety of steam rooms and showers.

The food was great! I would highly recommend staying in the concierge level cabins. We were on level 9, so only one flight up to the food. Each morning we would order room service, and then head up to see what was out on the buffet.

The first night we did not go to dinner @ the normal dinning room. But went to the SS United States. Though this did have a fee, it was very well worth it!!

This was a great cruise, we will be going again. Next trip to Alaska.
...
