In February of 2009, my husband and I met up with 3 other couples in San Juan to go on the Carnival Victory for a 7 day cruise!! It was amazing. We met another couple the first day we were there and hung out with them every chance we had. We went on the Southern Caribben cruise and it stopped at a different island every day! When I booked it, I thought I would be exhausted because we would be busy every day. Well, we decided to do some active things and other days we relaxed on the beach. I would go on this cruise again if I could. There is so much to do and see and if we did do it again, I am sure that we would do and see things that we didn't see the first time. The ship was awesome and the crew was fantastic. There is always something going on and plenty of food to eat any time you want it. You don't have to go to dinner when you are scheduled to--just go to one of the other restaurants like we did. This was the second time that we went on the Victory and we would...
...

We were on the Carnival Victory in a balcony room on Lido deck for a 7 day western Caribbean cruise. My sister went with us (so three in a cabin) and there was plenty of room. It was great in the morning getting room service and sitting on the balcony watching the sun come up. The shows were very entertaining in the evenings. The food was great. Our waiters were fantastic. In fact my husband was sick one night and our waiter left the dining room and took soup to him (at the risk of his job). He was highly tipped for that! The ship is great. Embarkation and debarkation went very smoothly. We ended up going to Grand Cayman and swam with the sting rays (highly recommend it). I would not hesitate to book Carnival's Victory again.
...

azallie says "Uncooperative Guest Relations" about Carnival Cruise Lines - Victory

In March 2009 I cruised the Carnival Victory to the Southern Caribbean. For the most part the cruise was average. I have been on two other Carnival cruises and in my opinion the food was not as good as previous cruises, plus our server was really bad. It seemed like Carnival was skimping on the little things such as no longer serving fruit punch in the buffet area, charging for hand brewed cappacino, not from a machine, at breakfast, and charging more for both soft drinks and mixed drinks. The entertainment was not as good as prior cruises.

I was told the Victory had recently been refurbished. Our room was ok with the exception the mattress and pillows needed to be replaced, very lumpy. The ships bathrooms also needed to be serviced little more. The return portion of the cruise was very rocky, it appeared they were trying to make up time so they sped up the ship.

Most of the crew members were friendly expect upon departure. We had a problem with our bill upon checkout,...
...

My husband and I traveled to Canada last summer on the Carnival Victory...we absolutely were bowled over by the whole experience. Loved it!!! Even the crummy foggy weather couldn't dampen our enthusiam for the cruise. Our waiter was out of this world and we met some wonderfully nice people in the dining room.

Some cons... the buffet food was just average no big deal, bingo expensive, the excursions a bit pricey for what you got.

Over all though it was a great experience and we are about to go on another cruise next week with Carnival to the Eastern Carribean, we can't wait!
...

for-tigger says "Whoo Ho has a whole new meaning" about Carnival Cruise Lines - Victory

This was my first cruise so I don't anything to compare it with except for a regular timeshared vacation. For the money you get a lot. Lots of food you will never starve. The dining room experience is a must. Not only is the food good but you can order as anything off the menu as much as you like. Talk about your 5 course menu. The desserts were outstanding. Bingo is way to expensive. $20.00 for a set of 3 but only plays 1 game. Way too much and too quick. I'm a soda drinker and I don't think I got my $45.00's worth. If your going to make us pay, it shouldn't be so much. Ultimately the cruise experience was good. Received "Excellent and Friendly" service from all. Our cruise director was right. Whoo Hoo will forever remind me of this experience. Would definatly cruise again.

...

cbroane says "It's only okay. DO go to Canada, but not on the Victory." about Carnival Cruise Lines - Victory

It's only ok. Cruise was to Canada and it was FABULOUS. The ship sure is green though. Almost all decor feels "dated" as the cabins have the standard orangish decor and the ship itself had a LOT of green. She leaves a lot to be desired. No rough waters but the ship was just not as nice as expected.

DO go to Canada though! Just possibly on a different ship....

We had a wanderful time on our trip. We visited Puerto Rico, St Thomas & St Maartin. The weather was wonderful. All of the people on the ship are friendly and take care of you. There is always something to do. Cruises are now our favorite vacation. You can go and relax knowing that everything is already paid for excluding drinks....

jape says "Good room, average service, mediocre or worse food" about Carnival Cruise Lines - Victory

This was the first cruise my wife and I have taken. The ship was comfortable, our room was quite nice. Small, but enough storage, great deck and view and a comfortable king size bed. Plenty roomy bathroom also.

We were on a charter cruise, so not sure if the food varied from normal, but it was generally bad. Reminded me of Air Force mess hall food to a large extent. The dining room food was best, but even it was generally no more than OK.

Service in the public areas was quite good. Room service for meals was good also. General service from our room steward was not good.

The cruise was fun nonetheless, enjoyed our ports of call, particularly Jamaica, and think we will try it again, but perhaps on another line.
...

We've taken several cruises and this was our second cruise with Carnival. The service on this cruise was so bad that it was almost non-existent. In fact, we will probably never consider sailing with Carnival again as a result. As soon as we checked in to our room we reported a problem that needed to be fixed and it still had not been taken care of when we left the boat five days later! We met great people on the ship who also had cruised many times before and all agreed that the cruise line was not what it had been. We often had to wait to be served drinks in bars, etc. Food was mediocre, entertainment was often not worth attending....
