This review is about a very respectable credit card company, Capital One. Did you know that Capital One, like some other credit card companies, offer insurance in the event of default on your monthly payment due? I found out in a bitter sweet kind of way. I bought the insurance when my autmobile contract was bought from the original creditor by Capital One.First, I did not know that companies did this,, Secondly, when my account went into default, I remembered purchasing this insurance. I comtacted the insurance carrier of this program. After completing some simple paperwork and returning it to the company, my first payment was made to Capital One. This was done when the next payment was due. These programs are often offered on the initial application for credit. It is usually a box that you check to request this insurance. I was extremely ecstatic when I saw that my monthly payments were being made. This program definately eased the financial crunch that I was experiencing. Thank You...

They have a very good system. They email you when your statement is ready every month. They also off you payments options on your account so that you don't miss payments which will help you maintain a good credit rating. If you are late with a payment for a very good reason, they will rebate the late fee for you. I recommend this credit card to anyone who is trying to establish credit for themselves.

JUST THIS PAST MONTH, MY INTEREST RATE ON MY VISA CARD WAS INCREASED BY APPROX. 6%. I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO PAY ON TIME, EVEN BEFORE DUE DATE, AND 80% OF THE TIME PAY OVER THE MINIMUM AMOUNT.

I KNOW THE ECONOMY IS IN BAD SHAPE RIGHT NOW, BUT INCREASING THE INTEREST RATE IS NOT GOING TO HELP ME. I AM FORCED TO LIMIT THE USE OF MY CARD IN ORDER TO GET THE AMOUNT OWED DOWN. I KNOW IT IS A PRIVALEGE TO HAVE THIS CARD, BUT THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS HAVE BENEFITED FROM THE CASH PAYOUTS BY GOVERNMENT, NOT ME.

DO NOT MAKE IT ANY HARDER ON ME THAN IT ALREADY IS.

I had charges that weren't mine on the card and I filed the paperwork to dispute them. An investigation was done and the charges were removed very quickly....

When calling Capital One's 24hour hot-line i waited over a half hour to finally talk to someone that couldn't even help me. Instead of sending me to someone that could help me they finally hung up on me. Getting the card canceled was another long phone call with more hassle and rude people on the other line. I only give them one star because frankly you can not not put a star in. When making a cash withdraw you pay a lot more back to them then what you took out and it is not fully paid back till the card is repaid off completly. And don't get me started on the web site. Their site is constantly down for some kind of work they are trying to provide a better site but every time i finally get back on to their web site nothing looks better. I have accumulated a lot of late bill payments just from that. Which cost you over a lag and arm to pay that off. People please watch the fine prints on credit cards they are no joke and don't give your teen one even if it's for emergency only, you'll pay...
