I first applied for the Capital One Visa when I started college and was looking for a way to build credit and to have an emergency credit card. The interest rate was, and still is, very high compared to its competitors. When I applied, I was told there would be no annual fee. To this day, I still call every year to ask them to remove the annual fee. Over tha past 5 years, they annual fee has been removed twice. The customer service with my Capital One Visa is not very well either. When I speak to the representatives they are usually rude and not willing to help. The Capital One website is not as friends as the competitors sites as well. I find it much easier to use the Chase website when trying to look at balances, make payments and check my statement. I have been contemplating getting rid of this credit card, and likely will by the end of this month because there are no benefits with having this credit card. I would not apply for this credit card unless you are a young person looking to...

The Capital One Visa is a great visa card to have. Whether you are in the United States or Internationally you can always pay with your card wherever there is a Visa logo. There friendly customer service representatives are always to help you out with questions you may have. I personally had an experience while I was in Europe and went to a bank using my Capital One Visa to withdrawl money out of it and I took out every dollar I had on the card. The money came in usefull while I was on my vacation and when I returned home and received my Capital One Statement I didn't even have any overdraft fees for going over my limit, my interest rate was low, and they let me make my payment and catch up on bringing my balance down which was a real good business like manner out of the company. Some companies when you get over the limit slam you with interest rates and over the limit fees and bring your balance up by a couple hundred dollars and really take advantage of you but Capital One...

Capital One is the first Credit card i obtained. But I wondering besides the no annual fee what are the benefits? I dont have reward points nor have i ever gotten a credit limit increase. On all my other cards they have increased me limit when asked but not Capital One.

At first, with Capital One the due dates often came twice in 30 or less days. One email questionare changed this, and to a date closest to my request. I asked if I could change the due dates to be only once per month without a fee, and not to come before the 10th of each month. I received a response within 24 hours reading that this would be done immediately, and would be the 12th of each month. No fee was mentioned for these adjustments. Since I already have a credit card that gains points for purchases to cash in for gift cards that I enjoyed the benefits I only used this card when I could pay it off in a few days or week. The other credit card has changed companies, and so I will keep this card longer, and maybe very long term since the positive changes. I will know after May 1 if the changes have, indeed, been made.
