illinimama says "The Canon pixma MP530 printer does it all." about Canon pixma MP530

We've had this printer for about five years, and have to say that it hasn't disappointed us. We use it nearly every day, printing out everything from text to coupons to pictures. It is very user-friendly, which is good because we are somewhat technologically-challenged. For home users like us, the fact that it is a scanner/printer/fax machine is great! It was easy to set up and we especially like that it is compact. It fits in our home office very well.

The ink cartridges are easy to change; there is a graphic that comes up every time you print showing how much you have left in each of the five cartridges. We have to replace a cartridge about every three or four months. There are several online places that sell "generic" Canon cartridges at a much lower price; we buy from LD Products Inc. (located in Long Beach, California) and they work just fine.

We have been more than pleased that such a reasonably priced combo printer has met or exceeded all of our expectations.
...

My husband and I need to purchase a new printer because our old one didn't do everything I needed it todo for our small home office since I started to work from home.

I needed a scanner that I could use that wasn't difficult, a fax line that didn't have to be dedicated and a good printer for photos.

I will have to say we got all 3 of these things. The printer isn't very big which I love. It is able to fit in next to our computer with no problems. It is very very easy to use. I scan picture, letters, art all the time and the resolution is VERY good. It makes very good copies in black and white as well as color. I wanted something that I could use in my office day to day work but something I could use with making my art as well. We had looked at other all in one printers but they were so expensive or they were just too big.

We bought ours for $49.99 @ Walmart on sale. The only draw back that I have found so far is the ink is a little on the pricey side and you cannot get the cannon...
...

ladylafter62 says "It's an office printer made for the home at an affordable price." about Canon pixma MP530

With this printer, it's like having a copy center in your very own home! It can do everything -- copy, scan, fax, print photos, BW/Color printing, you name it. Most times, all-in-ones lack quality in some of their features, but not this one. It does everything perfectly. My scans are so perfect, I'd think I was looking at the originals. It is relatively quick with the copies or print-outs and the software is easy-to-use and versatile.

It is pretty compact as far as office printers go, but for the home, it's perfectly manageable. It takes up the same amount of space as my 5-gallon fish tank does. It's light-weight so it's easy to move around, if necessary.

Ink is just as affordable as any other brand. At Best Buy, you can buy a 2-pack of the black ink for only $30 and the color packs are available everywhere.

The only con I have with this has nothing to do with the quality of the product. It is the fact that it is not a wireless unit and it also does not have direct upload......

Ink prices are high, like all these units, but otherwise it is fast, and good quality. I use this mostly for black and white word processing, but I wanted something to add photos to documents. This does the trick. The printer is extremely easy to install and use with my laptop. No USB cable included, but I use the one from another peripheral....

I looked everywhere for a good printer before deciding on a canon pixma. Aside from the expensive ink... this is an amazing printer. The photos are awesome quality. A big plus is the bluetooth capability. Wireless printing = happiness. I've had countless printers in the past that just didn't hold up to my work load. I'm a photographer, so I'm always printing for my business. This printer has made my life so much easier. If I have to buy another printer, it will be another canon. Love my Pixma printer!
...
This printer will blow your mind, if you been using an HP, Brother or Lexmark PRinter lately. The quality of and speed of everyday printing is awesome and the option to print color photos, is well most excellent. Photos are very crisp and look just like store quality thanks to a pigment ink tank and the Candon proprietary enhanced color inks. the printer has five ink tanks including a super sized standard black ink tank.

The printer monitor shows on screen when your ink level and alerts you to when you need to go buy a new one. Further the printer features built-in scanner, fax and multi-feed paper slots. You can even print on both sides of the paper, thanks to the built in Duplexer (ie auto paper flipper). There is a view screen which is 2 line and also offers a low power saver mode.

Printing with this printer for everyday is even more helpfull with the ability to print more than one page of information on one sheet of paper, such as 4 pages on 1 sheet, you can also enlarge and reduce......
