Before getting my Canon Digital Rebel XTi digital camera, I was mostly a point-and-shoot, low megapixel, occasional photograph taker. Since getting this little beauty, though, I've started getting more interested in learning how to take better photographs. The Rebel XTi has a relatively easy to use interface, if you know what settings you're looking to set. The standard lens it comes with does plenty good for my zoom-in and close-up needs. I've used it to take photos of my infant son, other family members, meals at home and out of the home, and some landscape shots. None of the buttons on the camera's body have proven to be misplaced, where I might bump one unintentionally while using the camera; this is a real plus for someone who's not super-graceful, such as myself. Thankfully, Canon's Digital Rebel XTi is easy to learn and use. For photo editing, I've found that since picking up this camera, I have less need for things like red-eye correction, white balance correction, and sharpening...
...

I love this camera. The rebel is an amazing camera. I dont know a thing about photography and even on auto the pictures are very crisp and clear. The pictures on manual are even better if you do know photography a bit. the cost is well worth it as your pictures will turn out much better.
...

This camera has completely changed the way I take picture. It is just wonderful to work with, and takes the best photos I have seen anywhere. It is very easy to operate, and even a novice can capture a great picture. While the cost to start up is high, it is not going to need to be replaced because it can take huge photos, and the shutter is incredibly fast with basically zero delay. I have enlarged a standard photo to 20x24 and it still has amazing clarity.

It uses Compact Flash or CF cards which are harder to find if say you lose yours on vacation in Mexico (Happened to me :( ) but you can get them even at Costco in large sizes for relatively inexpensive prices.

I have a young child, and with this camera I can capture real moments, and even create slideshows that look like movies. We have made flip books of him doing a little dance, and the pictures took so close together it is amazing.

I would recommend this camera to anyone who is a hobbiest or is interested in...
...

The Canon Rebel XTi is a perfect newbie camera. It's light weight and easy to use features make it perfect for the learning photographer. I've used mine for over 1 and 1/2 now and have no complaints about it. It's shooting rate and awesome auto-focus system make it amazing. I also like the width of the LCD display and I love how easy it is to navigate through all the settings and menu options on the camera. The flash is decent especially when you want to take night photographs, or sunsets, etc. Alot of lense options for this puppy as well which makes it perfect.
...

I have been a longtime Canon user and after having the 35mm version of the Rebel I finally upgraded to the digital version and I haven't been disappointed yet. I love the features it has, it has allowed me to rekindle my passion for photography and I have a chance to experiment.

One thing though, splurge on a better lens. The lens that comes with the camera is fine but I purchased a Tamron 28-300mm lens, it allows me to take close up and zoom out without changing lenses.
...

I love to take photograhs and have purchased just about every brand of camera on the market. I don't read the manuals and tend to start pushing buttons in hopes of getting it right. Before I purchased the Canon Rebel XTi, I took thousands of photos with other cameras, but was never quite happy with the end results. Now that I have the Canon Rebel XTi, I don't want to replace it with a new model! It is great at capturing action shots and in my opinion, works best with the Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300mm. After seeing photos taken with the Canon Rebel XTi, people tell me, "Wow, you are really talented. Your photos look professional". Little do they know I'm hardly a pro and the greatness is with the camera....

My husband and I have owned the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi for a year and a half and have taken some of the most AMAZING photographs we've ever seen with it! We use the kit lens for every day photos but when we wanna get fancy, we pull out the prime and zoom lenses and have at it! We just finished a wedding and the pictures came out great but we needed a better flash so we purchased a Sigma EF-500 Super for Canon Flash. This is an absolutely wonderful camera full of options for any type photo you wish to take! Awesome one to start off with if you can't afford to upgrade to the Canon 5D just yet! Love taking in raw file format!...

My first Digital SLR camera was this XTi (silver, though) and it has helped me produce fantastic photos ever since I got it 2 years ago.

Being a professional, the camera is more than a "hey, i don't miss any family moments!" thing for me. It's my life--how I pay my rent. So, obviously, I need a good tool to do that. It's like a painter needing great quality paints, or a clock maker needing good, steady hands--it just HAS to work, and it HAS to work well.

I really love the XTi because it's small and lightweight compared to other D SLRs in it's class. I like the smooth look of the silver model, and overall I think it's a very classy camera. My only "complaint" is that the menus can be tricky, and there are a lot of options that the average photographer or amateur photographer would have to read the manual carefully to understand, along with other books in order to understand all of the working components of the camera.

Overall, no complaints from me! I have 3 D SLRs for my work,......

I do love this camera. The pictures are great quality when the setting is right. However, when you throw in some tricky lighting or at night, the camera performs pretty much like any other camera. I'm not expecting miracles, but it would be nice to actually find a digital camera that took decent photos at night...with lighting of course (i'm not asking for infrared.) My other complaint is that there is no way to turn the flash on really if the camera doesn't think it needs it. At least if there is, i haven't discovered it, unless you use the manual focus which is a pain in itself. All of this aside though, I do love my camera and am quite attached to it. It does have great photo quality, especially outside.

Sometimes it will be "busy" a little longer than i'd like, but again this is in areas where the lighting is probably not what it would like...
...

I researched digital cameras for months before I settled on this, and I'm so glad I did. Consumer Reports and about 5 other tech-sites rated it very highly, and now that I've had it for a month, I know why. For an SLR it's surprisingly user-friendly, and it gives you the extra edge that you can't get from a compact digital. If you're into photography but haven't yet made the jump from amateur to intermediate (like myself), this is a REALLY good starting point. I definitely reccomend obtaining some sort of extended warranty; even though their factory warranty covers more than you would expect, most of the repairs you might need are free under their 1-year, 3-year, & 5-year plan.
...
