This camera is sleek and stylish; it's also small enough to fit into a pocket and go almost anywhere. I keep it in my handbag to snap impromptu photos of my adorable four-year-old. I'm a long-time Canon user, so I found it easy to transition to this little guy; if you're used to PowerShots, the interface on this is pretty intuitive. It's also easy to transfer the photos to my desktop using the accompanying software. I can capture video with no problem; overall, it's a great everyday camera.

However, I did have a rough start of it. I first got the camera as a gift right before our family took a long vacation to Egypt, Greece and other parts of Europe. I didn't realize that it takes a custom rechargeable battery and has no way to switch to regular batteries in an emergency. I forgot to bring the charger and when the battery drained, I was stuck without a camera for several weeks. I was recently needing to purchase a compact digital camera and debated on many brands. I wanted something that would be consumer friendly and provide me good quality photographs on a budget. I came across the Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital Elph camera. This camera comes in 5 different colors, so you are able to choose the color that suits your personality, I chose the pink myself. This camera with it's 8 mega pixels and 3x optical and 4x digital zoom with many preset modes has been perfect. I am always taking pictures and the battery life seems to last longer than most batteries. It is so compact, that I am able to carry it with me everywhere I go. It easily slides into a pocket of my purse or into the back pocket of jeans or shorts that I'm wearing, without creating a huge bulge. I love just about everything about this camera, it has a rapid download time and I am quickly able to view my pictures on my computer. My Canon Power Shot - SD1100IS Digital Camera was given to me by my children as part of my Christmas gift this past year. This camera is fairly easy to use, and as I am not a pro at operating any sort of camera/video equipment, which my children know, is why they chose this camera.

The instruction booklet that is included with this camera is easy to understand and with all of the pictures showing the parts of the camera and how they work, it is quite easy to follow and get whatever results you are trying to achieve when taking your pictures.

I especially like the 2.5 inch LCD monitor, as this makes for easy viewing to see 100% of the picture you are taking and/or for viewing after you take it. Another feature that I would like to mention regarding continuous shooting is that it's approximately only 1.3 shots/second.

Also, with a fully charged battery, you can take a great deal of pictures, even with the LCD Monitor on, and it doesn't even show that the battery is weakening....

The Canon - Power Shot SD1100 IS Digital Camera is a great camera for the average person. It is very easy to use. It has a great auto focus. There are many different settings that I like. I use the auto setting the most, but the children and pets setting works great outside. There is an aquarium and a firework setting as well as a lot of the usual ones you would find on a digital camera. One of the neat settings is the color accent. You can choose a color in a shot and only that color will come out; the rest will be black and white. There are only a few things I don't like about the camera. When setting time stamp it does not include a date. The battery doesn't last that long. I had to buy a couple back up batteries to take with me in case the battery dies. You can edit the picture while it is still in the camera. You can change the color quality, the size. You can also trim the picture. I received my camera, the Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS, for Christmas last year and I had a safari trip to South Africa scheduled. I brought along this compact camera and never imagined the quality of pictures it would take. The zoom was amazing and the details of my pictures could not have been better. I honestly thought the camera would be 'just alright' because it is a compact camera without all the bells and whistles the more sophisticated cameras have. Really this turned out to be the BEST camera! I noticed other travelers with huge detachable zoom lenses but I can't image they performed any better than my camera. It even comes in fun colors and the size of it makes it perfect for traveling light and worry free. The only downside is the night photos did not come out well and I have to figure out how to best get the night shots to look good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

I started out with a sony digital camera with a huge Lens and lots of different settings. It was good for taking simple pictures but couldn't capture the movement of every day life. After about 4 years of trying to get good pictures of my kids with it only to be disappointed with the blurry picture I got due to the fact that little kids just can't sit still and they shouldn't have to. I gave up and started my search for a new little camera that I could keep with me at all times. I did a lot of research for a camera that would take pictures of a moving person a camera that would focus on the faces of my target and I found one. My canon Powershot SD1100is 8mp Digital camera is a perfect little camera for me and my family. It takes great pictures of my moving children, and I can also use it to take very detailed pictures of flowers. The macro setting is perfect for close up and intricate pictures.

I like this camera and I never leave home without it.

I love this camera, it takes the best pictures and my 3 year old can take great pictures. I took a picture of a house going down the road while my son was driving 55 mph and it turned out great for going 55 mph. Here is a picture of it. You can move while taking the picture and it still turns out with no blur and don't have red eyes anymore.. Love the camera!!!

I truly love this little camera. It cost me under $150 at Target, and I've been very impressed. I love the fact that it's so small, but has a nice size LCD display. It takes great pictures, as well as quality video. It seems to have a very good battery life, as well. I'm not very good with cameras, but even I have gotten great pictures with it. Consumer Reports rated it very well, which was one of my motivations in buying it. Since purchasing the camera, I have to agree that it's well worth the money. It's relatively quiet, and seems to be quite user friendly. I can snap lots of pictures quickly and easily. I've had no problems with the lens like I did with my Casio Exilim, either. The SD1100 cost half the price of the Exilim, and I like it a whole lot better! It's the perfect size to always keep with me in my purse, so I've got it whenever I need it. I think Canon really got it right with this one, down to the little things. For instance, there's a little indentation...

I decided to buy a digital camera several months ago. I had no idea how complicated it was going to be. I knew nothing about digital cameras. I began to research digital cameras. It took me months before I decided on the Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS. But I am so glad that I did decide to buy this camera.

I love it. It takes beautiful pics.

I found it complicated to use but it was my first digital camera. Other people who are more familiar with digital cameras tell me that it is very easy to use.

It is a bit on the pricey side when compared to other digital cameras but Canon is considered top of the line. It was recommended to me over and over by many people including my trainers at the Apple Store. Canon has an excellent reputation.

I was not happy with the customer service that I received from the store where I bought it but Canon offers their own customer service and I have been satisfied with their customer service. Also, I have received excellent...

I love the Cannon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital Camera!! All of its various settings allow you to always get the perfect shot of whatever you are shooting. The size and shape of the camera is great for a mom with her hands full and fits perfectly in the side of the diaper bag or your pocket. It is also durable- twice I have had it knocked out of my hands at sporting events and it does not have a scratch on it.

I was very impressed with the video camera option - the PowerShot allows you to take small, medium or large movies so as to control the amount of space taken up on your memory card and how detailed you want the movies. The sound is another great feature on the camera - it returns clear, crisp sound both when replaying the movies as well as when viewing the movies once uploaded to your computer.

The only thing I would change about this camera is the software that it comes with; it seems to be somewhat redundant and confusing. I find myself manually uploading the content rather than...

I got this camera for Christmas last year and LOVE it! Maybe it's just because we haven't had a new digital camera since they first came out, but I was so impressed. Our old camera had a long delay when you took a picture or wanted to view it after. This camera is quick, the clarity is wonderful and it's small enough to slip into your purse or jacket pocket.

I've used a number of point and shoot digital cameras including Nikons and Sony Cybershots. I haven't been disappointed in any of these, but after my last Elph (an SD600), both my partner and I keep coming back for more. Most recently, I've been pleased to buy the Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS.

I'm not much of a photographer, but these little guys make it easy to take amazing pictures at a very affordable price. One of my few complaints about the SD600, occasionally blurry photos, has been well remedied with the new image-stabilization ("IS) feature on this model.

The size is perfect (pocket-sized yet sturdy), the viewfinder generous and the controls easy to use. Battery power is great. I was on the fence between this and another Canon which takes rechargeable AAs. In my experience, however, the LED batteries just last so long on these cameras it's worth the inconvenience of a proprietary battery.

The only downside I'd like to see improved upon is shutter lag time with flash. It sometimes...

I recommend this camera the Canon Power Shot SD1100 IS, it is ready to go you just turn it on and snap some pics and they turn out great. If you want you can mess with things and do some cool shots but it is a great size and nice camera. You are able to do a cool thing which allows you to capture only a certain color in a shot so you can just capture the red flowers in a bed or something along those lines which makes for a neet shot. I think the best thing is just the ease of use and the convience of the size, I wanted something I would carry around and actually use....
