I really wanted a small camera that could do it all. I love my Canon PowerShot sD 1000. It is so tiny I can put it in my pocket, so easy to use I started using it without reading the manual, and I'm impressed with the pictures it takes. I'm no professional and just love to snap pictures for memories. This camera has been great as I travel. It doesn't take up extra space, last a long time on one charge, and seems very durable. It's been sat on, dropped, and not exactly treated nicely, but still runs great. Perfect camera for the unprofessional.

I recieved this camera as a birthday present. I had testing and using my friends cameras to find the one I wanted for a couple of years. Exactly long enough to figure out how to "break" the old camera with out being obvious and it was out of warranty. After extensive testing I found the Cannon Powershot SD1000. It is a great size for my purse. I use my camera all of the time. No, not as a photographer, as a person who likes to capture my life. I also use it for work. I am in marketing and at times need the highest resolution and other times need special tricks to make the back end of my job easier. This camera takes pictures of birthday parties, house marketing, charity races, cars, people, flowers... the list goes on and on. This camera has not failed me. I do need to get an extra battery. To have a spare on hand sometimes would be great. Or it would be even more awesome if Canon would make the camera rechargable by computer usb. AWESOME Camera.

Canon Powereshot SD1000 digital cameras is easy to use and makes taking photos fun and spontaneous. No bad pictures cuz you can erase the bad or embarrassing shots. Great for always having on hand to catch everyday moments.

I carry Canon Power Shot A1000 IS in my purse all the time. It is so light weight and compact it's hardly noticable and I never "wish" I had my camera with me anymore! This camera is so easy to use, the quality of the photos is amazing; colors are bright and realistic.

On a recent vacation we visited a garden, I took several photos of some unusual tulips hoping that they would come out o.k.; we were so amazed at the photos when we viewed them on the computer that we had several blown up and framed. We gave them as gifts to friends who had been on vacation with us. This is the quality that everyone wants without spending a great deal of money.

Everything about the Canon Power Shot is easy; the photos are professional quality. No matter what age or how much experience the individual using it has every photo comes out looking great.

I have only had 2 digital cameras in my "digital camera career" and both have been Canon PowerShots. For Xmas my husband bought me a Sony digital camera (not sure of the model right now) and I took a few pictures. Once we uploaded them onto our computer, we were shocked at the poor quality of the pictures... our pictures from our 6 yr old Canon PowerShot camera were WAY better quality. He ended up exchanging the Sony for the Canon PowerShot SD1000 (which had the same megapixels, and optical zoom etc. as the Sony) Have we have not looked back since!

The things I love best about the camera (keep in mind that I am a point and click kind of girl) is that it's small, and fits nicely in a purse or a suitcase. The controls are super easy to use. And the picture quality has never ever failed me!

I now have an unbiased opinion on why I love Canon digital cameras, and feel very confident in recommending them to anyone!

The Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH ($299) is an ultra-compact camera with a throwback design resembling the original film-based ELPH. Despite its high model number, the SD1000 isn't the top-of-the-line ELPH: the SD900 still holds that title (though some SD800 owners may disagree with that).

Those are some nice improvements! Other features on the SD1000 include a 3X optical zoom lens, an AF-assist lamp, a VGA movie mode, and point-and-shoot operation. If you're looking for a larger LCD then you may be interested in the SD1000's sibling, the PowerShot SD750. It gives you a 3-inch display, though you'll lose the optical viewfinder.

Canon includes a 32MB memory card with the PowerShot SD1000. That holds just nine photos at the highest quality setting, so you'll want to pick up a larger memory card right away, if you don't have one already. The camera supports Secure Digital and MultiMedia cards, as well as the new high capacity SDHC format. I'd recommend a 1GB card for this 7 Megapixel...

Ok, I love this camera!! It takes great great great pictures. The color is wonderful. You can select differnt color setting too such as: lighter skin tone, darker skin tone, black and white, sepia, and more!! This is great to make you skin look better even in bad lighting. I use to own Sony Digital Cameras in the past and not that I don't like Sony but I am liking this Canon more. Actually I lost my first one and went out and bought the exact same model. The only only downfall is the no battery indicator warning. You don't see the status of your battery life basically you just wait until it gets low and it sarts beeping at you. I love everything about this camera. The video mode works great and you can take videos for as long as your memory card allows. Oh, wait, another downfall is you don't have the date on the pic unless you're in panoramic or wide mode. Something like that. But you can do without that I suppose unless your'e really particular about that. Again,...

The Canon Powershot 7.0 Digital Elph camera has gone beyond all of my expectations as a "point and shoot" camera. On the Auto mode it works wonderfully for those that do not know much about taking photography but want good quality pictures of their pets, children and grandchildren or anything!

Not only does the Auto mode work well but the Manual mode has much to play with! Fun color changing modes that we love to play around with. A much much used "Kids & Pets" setting that can capture even the quickest running child! :)

On top of the great setting options it has a 7.0 megapixel camera which is a pretty nice shot for a camera so small it can fit in your pocket. It takes great video clips and can go as long as you need them to depending on how much memory you expand to (you don't have to though). The sound on the video is great, I've had some smaller cameras where the voices sound horrible and this one is great!

So far, my experience with the Canon PowerShot SD1000 has been great. Being a college student, my camera really takes a beating. I take my camera virtually everywhere, and it still works perfectly after having it for over a year. The Camera is small enough that I can fit it easily into a small clutch, but solid enough that I can still hold onto it easily.

I'm a novice photographer, so I needed a camera that I could use easily without a lot of confusion. The SD1000 has an automatic setting that works well in pretty much every light. It also has a manual setting that lets me play with colors and get semi-artistic if I feel so inclined. The menu is very easy to understand.

The battery life on the SD1000 is also great. I know that many people prefer AA batteries in their cameras, but I really like the rechargable ones. They keep their life, as opposed to my old Nikon powered by AAs that seemed to lose all their juice whenever I tried to zoom in on something.

One disadvantgae of the SD1000......

Perfect all-around camera. This camera takes high quality pictures and is very easy to use. It has a quick start up time, and has a lot of options for different types of pictures. (Macro, landscape, portrait etc.) You can also make panoramic pictures easily with this camera....

The canon-powershot sd1000 is a suburb camera. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a camera that is easy to use and takes clear pictures. It is easy to carry and has a stylish design. For those that are computer illiterate it is a great camera. Delivers quality results....
