I love the Canon Power Shot SD 850 IS. It is the best small, easy to use digital camera I have found. The picture quality is amazing, and it doesn't require an incredible steady hand like many cameras in its class. It has very good point and shoot options as well as a few manual settings for the more talented photographers.

It is also a farily durable camera. Mine withstood several minor falls (off the coffee table, out of my purse, etc.) It even lasted a few months after a 6 foot fall onto rock... but it was a little tempermental after that. I finally replaced it with the EXACT same model because I liked it so much.

One of my favorite features is the custom timer. You can take up to 10 pictures on a custom set time, say, 20 seconds. So you set it up, press the button, get in place, and then it takes x number of pictures about a second or two between each shot. It means you can give the camera lots of different expressions without going back to the camera. My fiance and I used this feature...

My Canon SD850 compact digital camera has all I need in a small digital camera! I have a digital Nikon SD40 digital camera, and my Canon takes as good of pictures as the Nikon in nearly all situations. I can adjust the ISO, take pictures with or without flash, take multiple pictures one right after the other and take short movies as well. There are three settings: Superfine, Fine, and Normal as well as a macro setting that takes great close-ups of flowers, bugs - you name it. It has a self-timer so if I want to take a picture of a group, I can set it and get into the picture too. You can go totally manual with it, or you can use the automatic setting for everything. On the scene setting, you have choices of portrait, night, kids and pets, indoor, creative light effect, foliage, snow, beach, fireworks, aquarium, and underwater, thought I must admit, I tend to just let the camera do its thing on auto mode. This is a piece of work. It is strong robust and made by canon, need i say more. The pic. quality is excellent for a machine in its price range and it takes great videos also. I especially admire the default frames and the settings. it is fantastic and i love it more and more every day...

I have always loved Canon for digital cameras. This is my second camera and I like that it is small enough to take anywhere. The picture quality is outstanding especially for outdoor pictures.

There is also a manual option to adjust shutter speed and light. For those that do not like manual, there is a screen option that has preset aperture and shutter speeds for action shots, night shots, indoor, fireworks, etc.

If you enjoy ease of use, quality pictures, rechargeable long lasting battery, and small size, this is the camera for you!

cannon powershot was an escellant digital camera . I use it to make videos record church outing and to take still shots i always want to remember . It has been a great little camera easy to handle and program your settings. not to heavy to lug around

Love the camera, although mine is old and the button sticks. The main problem is Canon typically does not have a rechargable battery, and so you have to buy fresh ones fairly consistently, which can be spendy. But otherwise a great camera!...

it is pretty big compared to the tiny cameras these days

but the functions are pretty much self-explanatory

and compared to the easy functions the pictures come out great

no need to adjust - point and click - just about works on everything

love the quality of the pictures

Canon - PowerShot SD 850 IS is the best point and shoot digital camera out in the market, it has got image stabilization which helps taking pictures if you have shakky hands, the face detection technology detects faces and focuses more on that part. Plus its easy to use and there is lot of automatic preset funtions that comes handy.
