I received my Canon PowerShot A590 digital camera for Christmas last year, and have really loved it. I poured over reviews on the internet before deciding on this model, and have not been disappointed. Canon makes superior cameras, and this is no exception. It has a large viewing screen, many different settings for outdoor and indoor use and a great flash. I have used the delay timer many times and it has proven to work well. It is very easy to download my pictures onto my computer, and needs nothing more than the USB cord that came with the camera. It takes standard batteries, making it much easier and less costly to use. And best of all, I did not have to pour over the instruction manual to figure out how to use this camera. Most of it was fairly intuitive. I would suggest, however, purchasing a memory card, as the camera does not include a memory card that is very big. It also is not particularily great with action shots, as there is a delay between shots and the camera sets up the next......

I Love my Cannon PowerShot A590!! I takes wonderful pictures and has many different settings, which I am still learning. The picture quality is awesome and I have had many printed from local stores with beautiful results. It also has an awesom little video feature that when replayed looks just like it was a full-sized camera!! I have used it many times, including at my son's graduation.

Get one n try it for yourself.
...

Midnight says "Fabulous Canon Powershot!" about Canon - PowerShot A590 Digital Camera

I actually got this Canon Powershot A590 IS free for opening a Discover Card! Even more fabulous! I found it a little tricky for me to get the two double A batteries into the camera at first but after that~away I went taking pictures! It is so easy to work with and I think it is the perfect size. I wanted something small but not too small to hold onto and this fits just perfectly. I have room for it in my purse, too. The resolution of the pictures are great and the auto focus and image stabilization are good. My husband has a more expensive digital camera and was amazed at the features of this small and pretty inexpensive camera. Great camera, great gift for anyone, too!...

My last, expensive digital camera has either been stolen or is hopelessly lost in my house clutter. It did a lot of things well, but not nearly as easily as the Canon PowerShot A590IS. This camera's terrific!
It features 8.0 mega pixels, 4X optical zoom, optical image stabilizer, and face detection capacity. For all that plus ease of access to thinks like zoom and flash turn-off (far more difficult on my previous camera) the A590 IS is a superb buy at about $100 (or up to $200 if you don't comparison shop). Some may object to the plastic case. I find that it's sturdy enough for me and, with a neck strap, I minimize chances of dropping the camera.
Another of the features that really jazzes me is the way the shutter button responds. You press halfway to focus then all the way to finish. After that you can continue to take pictures even before the image changes.
For now, I'm keeping it pretty simple. But the Camera User Guide promises detailed......

The Canon A590 IS camera is an older model therefore it is priced right. This model has all the bells and whistles. 8 megipixels. It is small and compact but has a very good zoom range. It also has up to 1600 ISO available. The image stabilizer works very well. This is a very fine camera for the picture buff....

CyndiA says "Love the Canon PowerShot digital cameras - third one I've bought" about Canon - PowerShot A590 Digital Camera

The college HP digital camera went belly up last year, so I replaced it this year (with a new budget approved) and got the Canon PowerShot A590.

My personal camera is the PowerShot A570, and I bought the same model for my Mom.

The PowerShots are all similar with upgrades on the pixels and zooms for new years. My A570 is 7.1 pixels while this new one is 8 pixels.

The only real difference with this new model from Canon is that the case is a dark color as you can see in the photo rather than the silver on earlier models. I say this is the only real difference, because I can't see any difference in the 7.1 pixels vs. the 8 pixels. In fact, I find the photos a little crisper on my old PowerShot.

The main reason I go with the PowerShots is that they are super easy to use. They have a stabalizer which is not built in on most less expensive point and shoot digital cameras. Yes. That does make a difference. While I'm really steady, many people are not (like my students using my camera and new one...
...
