I knew I wanted a digital camera that was easy to use, had tons of features and was priced decently. i think i got all that in the canon powershot a570 is. i did all my research on amazon, this one had tons of reviews and most said good things. it was priced about a hundred and fifty bucks. it came really basic kit, book installation guide camera batteries. well it takes double a's, which is good and bad. when i use the lithium batteries or other high end ones, they last for a while, but your standard double a's don't last. my favorite feature is the large clear screen. even my mother can see the shot she's going for! the zoom toggle on the top is nice too, not too stiff or too loose. but if you want over 16X you gotta hold it down then it goes really fast sometimes. great digital camera for beginner and intermediate digital photgraphers. I started out with this camera for amateur picture taking. After three years of having it the zoom no longer worked.
...

i;m not the most tech savvy individual out there, but i'm not a total retard either. i knew i wanted a digital camera that was easy to use, had tons of features and was priced decently. i think i got all that in the canon powershot a570 is. i did all my research on amazon, this one had tons of reviews and most said good things. it was priced about a hundred and fifty bucks. it came really basic kit, book installation guide camera batteries. well it takes double a's, which is good and bad. when i use the lithium batteries or other high end ones, they last for a while, but your standard double a's don't last for squat. couple hours of constant use and they'r toast. my favorite feature is the large clear screen. even my mother can see the shot she's going for! the zoom toggle on the top is nice too, not too stiff or too loose. but if you want over 16X you gotta hold it down then it goes really fast sometimes. it has a cool waterproof case you can buy for it too and takes the standard memory...
...

I chose the Canon A520IS because of the features. Within a few months it stopped recognizing fully-charged NiMH batteries as fully charged. Opening and closing the battery door usually solved the problem, but ultimately it refused to run and I returned it to Canon under warranty. They sent me a new one which exhibited the same characteristics right out of the box. I returned that one and they gave me an A720IS, similar but with a 6x zoom lens. This camera occasionally exhibits the 'low battery' signal at inappropriate times, but opening and closing the door solves the problem. I really hope it doesn't get any worse. I really like the camera and I've used it for about a year and a half now. Knock wood.
...

Bought the Canon - PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera with Christmas money and loved it, but now that we have a baby, it is not really fast enough to capture some of the things he does. It stalls before it actually takes the picture. I do love the features though. You can do video, picture (black/white, sephia). It also has night time settings. The red eye eliminator doesn't seem to work well. You can turn the sound off or have noise when you take pictures, when the camera turns on-I like that because if you are at a wedding, you might not want a noise everytime you turn the camera on or take a picture. This camera has lasted quite a while, and its pretty durable, as I have accidently dropped it several times. Now we are going to purchase a new camera and my husband is going to keep this for his work use. Canon - PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera will work perfect for his site pictures.
...

I love my Canon camera because all you have to do is point and click. It is simple to use and does not require a lot of extra thinking. It is great to use outdoors and has a auto flash so you dont have to think about the lighting if you are inside. This is also a camera that does not require regular batteries. It uses a rechargeable battery so it is good for the earth and does not cost a lot to use, unlike a lot of cameras that use batteries. This camera also uses a regular SD card and has a cord to link into the computer.
...

Before I got this camera, I went on Consumer Reports and read lots of reviews of different cameras in my price range. Canon kept coming up as a recommended brand. I narrowed it down to the A570 because it had a viewfinder and large LCD screen and was supposedly simple to use with great results. I'm not a tech savvy person and I hate reading manuals, I just wanted something I could use right out of the box. That's exactly what I got with this camera! It uses 2 AA batteries and an SD card which I immediately replaced with a bigger capacity 1 GB card. So far, I haven't exceeded that capacity. I use this camera for my Ebay business as well as personal use. I think it takes great pictures on the auto setting but it has lots of other settings for nighttime, children/pets (moving subjects), landscape, portrait, etc. I just have to read more about them. It also has a video feature which I haven't used yet. I like knowing that the extra bells & whistles are there when I'm ready for them, but for...
...

I bought my Canon Powershot A570 about a year ago and it's the first digital camera I've owned. I found it to be very user friendly.

One of the things I love about this camera is how fast I was able to understand it. I mean, I know this isn't rocket science but with no experience with this at all, I was taking pictures in less than 30 minutes after taking it out of the box.

It's not a very big camera but it's not one of those tiny, ridiculously skinny credit card sized ones either. It's just the right size for adult hands. It's size also makes it easier to replace batteries, find and use the buttons you need and see the picture on the LCD screen on the back. It has a built in flash, 4x zoom, image stabilizer (great for when you use the zoom) and comes with the software to upload your pictures to your computer. The directions that come with it are great too - one (skinny) book for beginner users and a thicker, more detailed book for advanced users.

Bottom line, for the money this is a...
...

Yes, it does make the camera about 50% bigger but I love the fact that it's powered by AA batteries and not lithium-ion. If you use rechargeable batteries, it'll last you a good amount of time. I travel to foreign countries a lot, so I find it much more convenient to just buy AA batteries than to find a power converter and carry a charger around.

I also take a lot of nighttime pictures and I hate harsh flashes, so the IS technology is great. It's not perfect (still a lot of blurry pictures), but a must-have feature.
...

The Canon - Powershot A570 Is a great camera for your teen or child. i had this camera all through highschool ( which only ended last year) and i loved it! my favorite option i would have to say is the switch assist option. for example you can be wearing a yellow shirt, choose the "yellow" option and only the yellow shirt would stand out and the rest of the picture would be black and white.
...

PCAddict says "One of the best entry level point and shoots you can get." about Canon - PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera

This has 7.1 MP and is one of the best entry level point and shoots your money can buy. It uses AA batteries and a SD memory card. Because of the battery chamber, you have a nice little grip handle which a lot of cameras don't have, making it easy to put fingers in front of the flash or lens. It also has IS (image stabilization) which really adds to the quality of your shots and allows for less rejected pics. I noticed it can be a little slow on flash recylcing but it's not a huge inconvenience as long as you are not in a hurry to get that next special shot. The colors are more accurate to natural colors rather than overcompensating which makes it nice. IF you want richer color or contrast, you can always use PSP or Corel, both of which I use depending on my preferences for the project at hand. It does better than a lot of models out there on the 1600 ISO which is one of the reasons I bought this model. I would suggest a 1 or 2 GB SD card if you want to use the movie mode...
...

The canon -PowerShot a570 IS is an awesome camera.

Phote quality is great. I have had several 8X10 made from the pictures I took, and they were clear and crisp.

The zoom on the Canon -PowerShot a570 IS is amazing. You can sit clear across a room and zoom in on someones face and get a clear shot.

There are tons of features on this camera, including video. One of my favorite feature is being able to hook the camera into the tv and see you videos and pics on a big screen.

The only complaint I have with this camera would be the flash recharge time, and that is kind of a bulky camera. But, even with that, I would buy it again.
...

I feel like I spent a year researching digital cameras before finally purchasing the Canon Powershot A570. I have been very pleased with my purchase. Although the design may look a bit clunky, I have come to like the hand grip. This camera can easily fit in a coat pocket or small purse, and yet has much to offer in the way of options. When I don't want to lug along my huge SLR camera, I know that the Powershot will still do a great job of capturing the photo opportunity as I envision it. In addition to a variety of preset options (which I don't really use, so can't comment on those), there are aperture and exposure priority options, as well as a fully manual setting. This camera is great for point-and-shoot as well as for those that want to be more creative with their shots. I have been very pleased with the quality of my photos....
