I received the Canon PowerShot A520 digital camera as a gift and I love it! Even if you are not technically inclined, this camera is easy to use. I can take pictures and review them as soon as I take them. I can delete pictures I am unhappy with immediately. I can download my pictures to my computer and send them via e-mail for developing of just the pictures I want to have a hard copy of. I have used more advanced manual cameras but I find that this little Canon PowerShot gives me results that are just as good. I really like the fact that I can carry it anywhere I go. It fits right into my pocketbook! I use the redeye reduction feature and I no longer have vampires in my pictures! This Canon PowerShot A520 is sort of like disposable cameras in size and it features many different modes for taking different kinds of pictures. There are settings for panoramic, portrait and night pictures. It even takes short videos! This is not a cheap camera but it is handy and small. ...

I have had my Canon Powershot A520 for almost 4 years. Ever since I purchased the camera I have been very pleased with the quality. In those 4 years I have dropped it a few times and I have still never had a technical problem that required any type of fixing. The maintenance on this camera has been non existent. I knew that I wanted to purchase a canon for the value of the name but I have very pleased with the duration of the camera. I am looking in to buying a new camera and I have already decided that the only brand that I am thinking about buying is a canon. Digital cameras need to be updated to stay with the most current technology and that is the only reason that I am purchasing a new camera. The process to upload photos on to the computer is very easy and someone who is not very technologically advanced would not have any problems gettting their pictures on the computer. I recieved the Canon Powershot A250 as a gift from my little sister, it was my very first digital camera. I have had this camera for three years and it still works like the first day I got it. My eleven year old daughter and I have dropped it so many times on accident and it still works great and does not even have a scratch on it. There are about 13 different selections for taking digital pictures and video. The zoom is better than some other brands of cameras I have tried. Now I have three digital cameras and I still use only the canon because it works the best and takes the greatest pictures. I bought the best sd card there is and I love the space it offers. I plan on buying a canon powershot for my daughter this year for Christmas because the price is great. I am not sure what my sister paid three years ago but the prices I am seeing for these canon digital camera's are perfect for me. I would definitely recommendthis brand of digital camera to anyone who asked me.

- It's been a reliable camera that takes clear pics. Just point, focus and shoot. It has many options that makes it easier to take pics.

- It also takes AVI video but it's limited to (3) minutes.

- Pics and video are stored on SD cards. When one fills up, slide in another one.

- Take it with you anywhere so you won't get caught saying " I wish I had a camera! "

The Powershot A520 is a 4.0 mega pixel camera with very many features for the amount I payed for it. Its a little bulky in comparison to most cameras nowadays but would I would still recommend it. Check out the entire Powershot series for some amazing cameras....

As a basic camera, for taking family photos and some scenery, it does well. But if you're into wildlife photography, but you can't get get very close to the animals in their natural habitat AND have good lighting, you need a better camera. I love it and would keep it even if I had another, better camera, but there's still things that just don't work well with it. It doesn't work with all subjects of photography....

Canon PowerShot A520 is the best camera I have owned. Simple yet high quality pictures. The software is a little "querky" but does the job. Good on batteries and a great zoom feature. The only drawback is the year you have to wait when taking a picture, need to shoot a dozen to get a good action shot!...

I have had the Canon PowerShot A520 for two years and it has been a wonderful tool for capturing my most special moments. This camera is wonderful. It takes beautiful pictures! The only problem that I've found with this camera is the fact that the lense collects dirt and grime and will often have trouble opening, causing the E18 error. Just take care of your camera and clean it often and you'll be set for any occassion....

Yes It takes great photos and is easy to use with nice features. Of Course that only happens when the camera is not malfunctioning.I bought the camera and had problems with it. It turns off when its not supposed to and sometimes the camera lens doesnt retract when the camera is off last time it stayed that way for 2 days before it finaly retracted. I sent it back to the manufacture for repairs as I was instructed to do and it took several months to get it back. Then it malfunctioned again after 1 month. I have never recieved any satisfaction

I think Canon has made a niche in Digital cameras. CanonA 520 has a very good picture quality with 5x optical zoom. The LCD screen is also very good. The different picture options and function to adjust the lightning conditions are some great features. The menu is simple and its easy to transfer photos to computer for future storage. The battery life is also good compared to other digital cameras I have used before.
I am also impressed with its video quality. Ofcourse not as good as of a camcorder but very good compared to other digital cameras I have seen or used before.

The camera is small and light weight. Easy to use. Is durable. Worth the money spent. It does have delay in taking the picture which is not always good. But the camera itself is a good buy. The pictures normally turn out clear. Comes with software that helps you create a picture album. It is only 4.0 megapixels though. All I could afford at the time.
