The Canon 5D is a great camera. I have been a avid fan of photography for years and have been increasing my caliber of digital cameras as time has gone on. The 5D is a far leap from my first point and shoot digital cameras from years ago. The image quality is amazing as well as the new HD video shooting option. The video is crisp and clear with fairly good color attention. While I did notice a bit of color noise in the video, it is a small setback for having HD video recording capabilities in this already powerful camera. The main thing that really catches my attention is its ability to manipulate the focus range - just as with still photos, the SLRs capability to alter focal length and thus range of focus you can really see the effects of this with the video feature. When you see what is capable of you can compare the focus effects to an awesome rack focus seen in much higher budget productions using film cameras. I am an amateur landscape photographer (mylightscapes.com). I have owned this camera for almost 2 years now. I love it! I didn't have any problems and photo quality is superb. Highly recommend it for anyone. The new 5D mark II is going to be even better....

Canon - EOS-5D. Its a great cmaera. ISo is just fantastic - great pic quality at high ISOs. Fatatic buy. Would recommend for all those wannabe photographers....

I thought it would be too bulky and heavy.
Let alone too advanced for me to use.
But when I used it for a little while it was the best camera I have had anything to do with.
I recommend this camera for anyone who likes clear wonderful pictures.

I have this Canon Camera and am thrilled with the way you can change len's. The picture quality is outstanding. I can get the best nature shots ever and it is super for sports shots. I would love it if this camera did video clips but you can't have everything. I have 3 different lens for this camera and my favorite one is the zoom lens. I can take pictures of animals from such a great distance without disturbing them. Then when I switch to the Micro lens, I can get beautiful close up shots. When I print these pictures, people do not belive that they came from a digital camera....

I am a corporate photographed in KC. I absolutely love my 5D! It is lightweight enough for me to carry around project sites and not be overwhelmed when in all of my safety gear and it delivers fantastic crisp results. While this camera is NOT for an amatear, for a seasoned pro I don't think it can get much better in this price bracket!...

This is the best camera I have owned to date. Started off with the canon EOS D60, which produced great pictures but its high ISO noise level was a drawback. The 20D was an improvement but lacked the punch that D60 images had. The 5D is in a class of its own, best picture quality and great high ISO performance....

I am a complete photo nut and always have to have the absolute best camera. When it comes to dSLRs, it absolutely has to be the Canon 5D. Why? It has a full frame sensor, and this sensor performs incredibly in low-light (and really all lighting conditions). The camera has a great shutter, too, and is very easy to use. Plus, the price has really come down recently, making this camera a steal. Then, there's the fact that it works with Canon's full line of lenses, which are some of the best glass in the world. The next time you're at a sporting event or somewhere where there are lots of professional photographers, just check out all the Canon glass. Canon's quality is top-notch, and this camera will last you a long time....

The 5D is a fantastic professional camera. It's reasonably priced compared to some of the other choices out there, and unlike Canon's 1Ds series full frame cameras, it's not going to eat up your hard drive with impossibly large picture files, even in RAW mode. It's flexible for all your needs-- I've shot weddings with it one day and horse racing the next.

For those of you who shoot indoors without flash, it practically shoots in the dark-- clean images with minimal noise at ISO 1600+. What noise you get looks like film grain.

A word of caution: This is not a consumer camera-- if you need the hand holding modes like portrait and sports, they're not there. Neither is that useless little pop-up flash-- the 5D is based on the EOS-3 film camera chassis.
