I've had a few canon type cameras, anything from 35m to small pocket point and shoot type. I love the warrenty they offer. Its lightning fast with out alot of blurryness going on with it.Its a long respectable company. Specially when you start to see alot of commericals. Its a known name brand of very many photographers around the world. I love finding deals with canon. They offer so much with any camera you get. So much your almost over whelmed with the box and the stuff inside it. I like the extra lens and cd and free prints it gives you when you first purchase your canon. Theres so many out there that each year it seems to get better an better. I have over 4 canons personally. It is a great company and trust worthly. So if ever in need of a good long lasting trusting camera go for canon. Like I said its a known name in the household for over 40 years in business. One of the best features is the part you connect to your computer right away. Either use your memory stick or just plug it...
...

melissay says "Canon Rebel XT ----- Awesome Camera, Great Price, Easy to Use!!!" about Canon - EOS 350D/Rebel XT

I must say that the Canon Rebel XT is a great choice for ANYONE that wants great quality pictures and an easy to use, versitile camera!

I am a photography student and bought the XT in November of 2008 and think it was an excellent purchase. I shopped around and really loved the reviews for Canon as a whole. Went to the store to check them out found that it is pretty lightweight (compared to other DSLR's), tons of features plus the easy to use auto features and specialty features such as motion, landscape, up close, portrait, etc.

The options are seemingly endless for lenses so you don't have to worry about buying a new camera as your skill level grows. Lenses can be an expensive investment but they are well worth it...just like the camera.

My husband can even pick the camera up, turn it on and start shooting away and he really knows nothing about the shooting details of cameras and picture taking. But he comes out with great pictures.

Excellent choice for someone that LOVE taking pictures...
...

The Canon Digital Rebel XT is one of the best cameras ever made. It makes every picture look a thousand times clearer, crisper, and sharper. I recently enlarged one of the pics to a 11x14 and it did a fantastic job.

It is relatively easy to use, great weight to hold on to, and the lens that comes with it is a pretty decent lens. I have been learning slowly on this camera, what all of the special features mean, but it is also nice to have a fall back "auto" though my wife hates when I use it. I recently discovered the difference between the auto white balance and cloudy setting - and my pictures have been the proof! It's like a brand new image.

Our photos now look like a professional took them. The cost was steep, but it was worth it for the quality of photos that we are receiving. Its a great dependable camera to learn on and to use it for what you want. I have learned a great deal on this camera and truly think it is better than any Nikon that I have every tried.
...

I have always use Canon products but always just the point and shoot. I got the Canon EOS Rebel as a gift two years ago and have loved it! I had researched other manufacturers but wanted to stay with Canon for the quality and familiarity. It was a big step but the transition has been fun.

The Eos Rebel has automatic settings for the beginner and a complete ability to manually control all settings. Anyone can take a great picture with this camera. The settings range from landscape,to portrait to macro so you really can shoot any subject.

With one or two additional lenses your rig is complete, for a fairly reasonable price. So far, I have had no durability issue with the canon equipment. I have taken the equipment from the beaches of California and Mexico to the top of Four Peaks strapped to my back on a quad, and never missed a shot.

After shooying is complete, the preloaded software is very easy to work with. Pictures arevery easily downloaded to a computer for review and printing. Over...
...

My husband is a photographer and has this camera. he absolutely loves it! He shoots for alot of bands both live concert footage and promo material as well. The shots he gets with this camera are astonishing to say the least. Canon is such a reliable brand, he has never had a problem with this camera or any other canon cameras we own. It seems a little complicated for such a begginer like myself, but if you are as experienced as my husband ( he has been shooting for 10 yrs) then you should have no problem with it. this camera is so reliable, it has been with us through weddings, graduations and the births of our 2 daughters. He has never broken anything on the camera. but i seem to go through point and shoots like no ones buisness! For someone who is very much into making lasting impressions through the art of photography, this camera will definitely suit you. I do not reccomend however, that someone who is a novice/begginer try to use this camera without a little help or reading the manual...
...

EarthenMaiden says "Canon Digital Rebel rocks my digital socks!" about Canon - EOS 350D/Rebel XT

I've had my Canon Digital Rebel for almost 2 years now and it is still fabulous. I especially love the fact that the lenses are interchangeable with the Canon Rebel SLR I already own. There are many features that you can set for point and shoot capability: coloring (florescent, tungsten, cloudy, etc), type (portrait, landscape, etc.) or you can go totally manual. The graininess when shooting at 1600 is a bit too much, but allows you to shoot in very low light conditions. It's a great everyday camera, and can capture photos that look mostly semi-professional, if your settings are used correctly.

The price has dropped significantly since we purchased mine 2 years ago. It is definitely a great deal at the $500 package price I'm seeing advertised now. Even at almost double that cost, it was still worth it. Its completely compatible with iPhoto and works seamlessly with my mac. Overall, a great camera!
...

My Canon Digital SLR Rebel XT goes everywhere with me. We looked at several types of digital cameras. We decided on this brand for many reasons. First we had already owned a Canon powershot that was about 7 years old and it was getting slow. Second, I love having the interchangable lens. I have about 3 different zoom lens. All my lens have auto focusing on them, which I need. I recommend that to everyone. There is a little screen on the camera as well, but you can not use that when taking pictures. You have to use this camera like and old style camera. However, you can still view you pictures after you have taken them. It still has a delete button so you can delete the ones you don't want. The flash is auto so it pops up when you need it. Good thing as I would never know when I needed a flash or not. I have never had a problem with this camera. I am all for recommending this camera to everyone.
...

I researched and bought a Canon XT camera. I have never regretted it. I loved the fact that there were so many different lens options and the things that I can do with this camera and supporting software. I bought this camera at an actual camera store and not a "box-store". I wanted to talk to someone who knew cameras and all the different aspects of them. Plus, I wanted to be able to take my camera to the same store if I needed any kind of assistance. The Canon XT was the model of digital SLR camera that I could afford at the time. They are not cheap by any means and if you are serious about pictures, then this is a great jumping off point. I have been able to take some incredible photos with this camera and I am already researching my upgrade. I still don't know all the wonderful and awesome things that this camera can do, and I look forward to being able to do more and more with these awesome cameras. I am currently in the market for a macro lens which will enable me to take all those...
...

The Canon EOS 1000D Rebel XS is a sophisticated SLR digital camera for the consumer who needs great picture quality and full control. Using the automatic setting, you can start taking pictures right away while using the camera's other features as you need them.

The ability to change lens gives the photographer a limitless range of possibility in creating photographs. Canon's lens quality is excellent. Should you decide to move to another Canon SLR camera, the lens will work on those bodies as well.

At 10 Megapixals, photographs from this camera can be easily enlarged to 16 x 20 inches. The color is rich as well as delicate. The larger CMOS provides detail impossible to get from ordinary digital cameras. The Continuous Shooting features allows you to take photos quickly.

I'm a fairly new SLR user. I researched for over a year, before deciding to purchase a Canon 350D/Rebel XT. I bought my baby for Christmas 2008. Since then I have taken THOUSANDS of pictures. My poor computer is getting slower by the second. I've always been snap-happy with a camera in my hands but, point-and-shoot digitals were slowing me down. No more! With my Rebel I can shoot about 6 frames per second in action mode... which I will say drives my family absolutely insane! They don't appreciate their personal paparazzi. My daughter, however, loves the attention!

I'm still playing around with all the settings... I will likely never know how to use them all, as there are so many. This is one of the things I loved most about this camera - it grows with you. It's as easy as a point and shoot- just select Auto and click away. Or you can move the dial around and play with other settings- for portrait, action, night mode, etc. But it's also a serious professional machine with the ability to...
...

Two years ago I took a trip to Alaska and wanted a good camera without a good price. I did a bunch of research on the internets and based on price and reviews bought the Canon Rebel. The price was a bit steeper than I originally wanted, but since it was the trip of a life time I took the plunge. I have not regretted the decission one bit. Because of the large megabite size I was able to enlarge photos without losing resolution. In fact, in some of the photos I took of a grizzly bear you can see a lot of the details and I took the photo at quite a distance, which I'm sure you can believe. I did opt to get an additional zoom lense for the camera and if you choose to do that, go ahead and pay for the stablizer. Probably my only complaint about the camera, and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is the built in flash. I use the automatic setting on the camera and the flash washes people out. One day I'll have to learn how to use the manual settings to adjust it, but for the time being...
...

I have always own either Canon or Nikon SLR in the past. Recently, however, I ventured into the DSLR world and I'm now wondering why did I wait too long. I love it absolutely. Take as many pictures as you like and you can see the result immediately. I have a couple of Canon lens from previous cameras and they fit perfectly with my new Canon DSLR. The focus is fast, accurate, and silent. My camera can take 3.5 frames per second which is more than most people will ever need. I consider myself a more advance amature photographer and this camera has all the features I would ever want or need. Before I buy this camera, I actually rented a comparable Nikon DSLR for 2 weeks just to see what one I prefer. To me, the Nikon has a "better" built quality to its cameras but it doesn't have as many features as the Canon. But you pay for that built quality with weight. Overall, I'm very happy with my Canon Rebel. Only drawback is the short battery life. That can be fixed with...
...
