When it came to digital camera's I've always been one to use someone Else's. I loved the canon GUI (graphic user interface) that was provided to the user. It is very friendly and easy to use. This camera can be as simple as point and press (shoot, click, etc.). And this camera can be as advanced as one can think of. This camera has an amazing feature called micro and of course super micro. That allows the user (camera operator) to take pictures of objects at really close proximity. You can almost touch the object with the lens and still get a crisp shot. I have taken great indoor and outdoor pictures with this camera. I have to say the only thing I have an issue with is this isn't for the person who wants a camera on them 24/7. It's got a bit of weight to it....

This camera is bulkier than its smaller relatives which are also great cameras but the extra baggage is worth while. The array of features gets just about any job done. The macro is wonderful and takes extraordinary pictures. The zoom is also breath-takingly precise. My only complaint is that the camera is a real power hog and flies through cheap batteries quickly so make sure to buy the extra strength ones....

I have always loved to take photographs, of everything. But I have always found that my pictures were lacking. My husband got me this camera for mothers day and I'm taking so many wonderful pictures that I'm trying to find places to submit the pictures

The only bad thing I can say about the camera is the weight. When we went on a trip I had the camera around my neck the whole day and ended up with in some pain. But for the picture quality I got on the pictures I took it was well worth it.
...

The EOS 300D's plastic body is just one of the elements used to reduce the cost of the camera, others include the use of a pentamirror in the viewfinder instead of a pentaprism, a reduction of features (although I feel that much of this is simply firmware crippling) and a shifting of manufacturing from Japan to Taiwan. Additionally Canon say that they have altered the production process of the CMOS sensor to reduce costs.

To give the camera more consumer appeal Canon has also replaced the EOS 10D's neutral image parameters with a new default set called 'Parameter 1' which defines Contrast, Saturation and Sharpness as +1. Adjustment to Contrast and Saturation have the same power as the EOS 10D, however the EOS 300D's sharpness is twice as strong as the EOS 10D. Thus the EOS 300D's "Parameter 1" is the same as Contrast +1, Saturation +1, Sharpness +2 on the EOS 10D. The EOS 10D's 'Standard' setting is called 'Parameter 2' on the EOS 300D.
...

This was a Christmas present from my Husband last year.It is truely a great camera! The only downfall was when my Husabnd purchased it he did not realize that there was no internal memory. (Which I found a little strange) So I had to purchase a Memory Card for it, which really is no big deal, considering the card holds 263 pictures. I also have to say that the picture quality with this camera is wonderful! Although I am still learning new things everyday about it!
...

This camera, while an older model, still deserves a look for those wishing to enter the world of digital SLR, DSLR, photography. It is lightweight, easy to use and inexpensive. Browsing around eBay or pawn shops, it can be had for far less than a newer model.

An advantage to using this as an introductory camera is that any lenses purchased for this camera will also work with the newer Canon bodies. Therefore, if you purchase any other Canon, you won't have to get new lenses as well.
...

Matt says "Great camera if you are taking action shots of your kids" about Canon - EOS-300D Digital Camera

We have owned this camera for several years and are very happy with it. It takes great pictures, has good battery life and solved our problem of fast moving kids getting lost with our Canon Powershot. It uses the same battery as our Canon Elura 50 Camcorder which is nice. Sharing the same charger and batteries makes packing for trips a bit easier.

Because of the high resolution, the pictures tend to be 2.5 megabyes each, which is pretty hefty. We tend to only use this camera at home, close to home or on special occasions. It is a real committment to bring in on vacations.

So, my bottom line is that if you are looking to upgrade to a SLR digital camera, but you are not a super serious photographer, this is a good choice. If you significant other is skeptical of point and shoot digital cameras because of their slow refresh time, this just may be your solution.

...
