the canon digital cameras have a great quality i know a few people who own them, and they have never complained. they do not exactly run cheap but they are worth the price. it is about quality and not quantity....

ferrismaggie says "Very nicely designed camera - fun to use" about Canon EOS 20Da Digital Camera

I purchased the 20D as an upgrade from my Digital Rebel. The cost was certainly worth it.

This camera has many, many advantages to the Rebel (as I'm sure other reviewers will point out), but I thought three were worthy of mention:

ISO 1600 and 3200 have very, very low noise. This means that I am now able to get low-light shots that I never could before. For example, I often take pictures of crowded streets at night. Before, I needed to use a flash or else my shots would be blurred by camera shake and the motion of people walking. Now (with the help of a f1.8 lens) I can set the camera at ISO3200 and have the shutter speed be fast enough that I can get clear images. In fact, when I use the Black & White mode, the picture is virtually noise-free.

Rapid-Fire burst mode. When the "multi-shot" function is on, this camera fires like a machine gun. It also writes the images to the memory card much faster than the Rebel ever did. I shot a series of 25 shots in 5 seconds, and it still had them all...
...

JonathanScottLam says "Nice and study body, but small LCD." about Canon EOS 20Da Digital Camera

Pro's:

-This is a great upgrade from the Rebel Series
-Shoots 5 Frames per Second
- Sturdy Grip
- Fits all Canon EF and EF-s Lenses
-You look great with this camera :) Also known as the Mini-1D

Cons:

-Crop Factor :(
-A bit big and bulky, but that may be a positive point for some users
-No custom menu like the XS, XSI, and 50D+ Models.
-Small LCD (1.8")

I've been using this body for almost 2 months now and love it a lot. I've done shoots and taken landscape shots and they're came out magnificent. I do post process with photoshop and other programs so I mainly shoot in raw. I use a 50/1.8, 28-105/2.8 and a 18-55/3.5-5.6. I do recommend using L glass lenses with these prosumer model cameras as you would receive much higher quality shots than regular Canon lenses. Overall, it's a great camera. Can't go wrong with the 20D... But some might like to step up to the 30D which is also 8MP, but has a relatively larger LCD panel. But if that really doesn't matter with you, this is an excellent choice....
...

This camera had given me quality images that can be printed in larger sizes without loss of quality. It was my first forray into the digital camera world from film, and I have enjoyed the Canon line of lens as well. Only con is the you get more megapixels with the new 30D....

The 20D takes wonderful photos. I have several extra lenses for all kinds of situations. The 300 2.8 is great for wildlife, especially with the 2X extender added. The macro is good for super close-ups. An extender gives it more flexibility. The basic zoom is fine for everyday situations. I need a 200 for good photos of pets, so the background will blur artistically.
...
