When I went to a different doctor, I told him I wanted to get healthy and lose weight. I had no money, since I was unemployed and my health was so bad I couldn't work, so programs were not an option, unless they were free.

Since weight loss programs are not free, it was determined I'd be doing it all on my own. He orinally put me on 1800 calories a day, then went to 1500 and said if I wanted to speed it up shoot for 1200 a day. Calculating the calories is a problem, but not with the Calorie King!

They have small and large books, I keep the small book in my vehicles, and my parents house, to calculate while away from home. Many of the places you'll eat are in there, so finding a low calorie option is easy. It will fit in your pocket, the information in there is great, very helpful.

The website has even more than the books, it's very easy to navigate, though searches can sometimes lead you to more than one option from the same place, and best of all it's free. I think I only paid...
...

AmyC921 says "The easiest way to watch your weight!!" about Calorie King: Weight Loss Tools

I have been a member of the online program, Calorie King, for over 5 years now. I lost 42 lbs. using the program and stuck around for maintenance and stuck around even longer to rid myself of the few pounds that were creeping back on. I hate to even use the word "diet" because it truly is a life-style change. They have the largest database of foods that you'll find anywhere. Everything from store-bought to restaurants and fast food joints. They have a food diary that you can put in everything you eat for the day and it tallies your calories, fat, carbs...whatever you choose for it to track and lets you know what you still have left for the day. There is also an exercise diary that will track how many calories you burn depending on the activity. There are good graphs and charts to track your progress as well. It is full of great articles, a recipe section and there is a "university" that you can go through that has a lot of nutrition and exercise info. I have to say, though, that the best......

roserighter says "Calculate daily calories and more with online calculators." about Calorie King: Weight Loss Tools

Calorie King is an awesome Web site (www.calorieking.com) that features tons of weight loss tools. They are known for their calorie calculator, which I use frequently. It can be a real eye opener to see exactly how many calories are in your favorite foods. It is especially helpful because they also list foods from restaurants and fast food places in their database. I was shocked to see that my favorite chicken dish at Chili's was 1200 calories. Yikes! That is almost a whole day's worth of calories for me. So I don't order that anymore. Knowledge is power!

Other Weight Loss and Dieting Tools:

Create-a-meal

BMI

Child's BMI

Maintenance calories needed

Exercise calories

Target heart-rate

Waist-to-hip ratio

The site is easy to use. Just type in your food and go to get a full listing of the nutritional value. Know exactly how much fat, fiber, protein and calories you are really taking in. Take the guess work out of adding your daily calories and see how much you are really consuming. It could mean all...
...
