When I first heard that the film Buffy the Vampire Slayer was being made into a series, I have to admit, I was shocked. Being that I was a teenager when the movie was released, it was good for a few forgettable laughs and nothing more. But, as I learned after watching the series, THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ALIKE!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the series, is fun, witty, intelligent, and also just so happens to kick butt...what more could you ask for? It is the perfect blend of every genre out there: comedy, action, horror, drama, romance...you name it, Buffy has it. The show will break your heart one minute and have you laughing yourself silly the next. Buffy has a HUGE cult following and has spawned a successful spin-off (Angel) and a comic book series continuing the tales of Buffy Summers and her friends, written by none other than series creator (and genius, in my opinion) Joss Whedon.

I whole-heartedly recommend this series. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. In fact, I even loved...

I came to Buffy the Vampire Slayer a little late. Way late really, only found it when the last season was on TV, but I caught up on past seasons and was hooked. The fantastic characters. The witty dialogue. The drama, the comedy, romance, horror, action, you name it, it's there.

My favorite seasons are the first three, with the ill-fated romance between Angel the vampire with a soul and Buffy, our heroine. With my favorite episode being, "Amends".

The changing ensemble cast is terrific as are the characters they play. With a core group of Buffy, Xander and Willow, and usually Giles, plus at various times Spike, Anya, Oz, Tara, Angel, Cordelia, Amy, and of course the Big Bads they must fight off every season.

A terrific show, that shouldn't be missed.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was my absolutely, positively favorite series of all time. Which is probably pretty silly coming from a woman over 40.

I loved all of the characters. Each one was intrinsic to the success of the show.

I loved that, while there some seriously scary moments, there was also comedy and romance. There was serious teen angst issues and family drama The show hit on some very real issues affecting teens today.

I also loved all the transitions that were made as the characters evolved and matured. Each addition or deletion of a character was pretty seamless.

I have been a huge fan of anything vampire since I was a little girl. Of course the many versions of Count Dracula sent shivers down my spine but the Count Dracula Buffy encounters could have a go at my neck anytime. Of course Angel and Spike could also chomp down on my neck. How could anyone be afraid of vampires if they all look like that. Hello-here's my neck. Please.

If you have one series that you are going to watch, make it one of Joss Whedon's series. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an amazing show that had seven seasons on television, and still lives on in comic book form for its' devoted fans. The character development is consistent throughout the entire series. The comparison to how life is for a teenager is played out through stories about monsters, but is actually very relateable. They have one episode ("Hush") where the entire episode is played through with NO ONE talking. The actors are really able to convey emotions clearly at this point in the series. Then, Joss turns around and makes it into a musical, with the characters singing and dancing for an episode. Once you've been hooked on the TV Series, go check out 'Season 8' in comic book form - the character development continues, and they are able to expound upon so many different things because there are no time constraints, and no real budget restrictions. Go - become an addict!

Vampire, Slayers and Witches oh My !

What more could you want in a TV show. (Well.... A bald headed millionaire, a Kryptonian, and two brothers travelling around fighting ghosts ) Oh wait thats fanfiction. well this show is as good as it gets without having to plagiarize. I mean a vampire boyfriend or two. I'd would be all over it the story lines are fascinating the characters are loveable and are alway evolving and growing. dealing with situations without being preachy it really is a cult classic an d with comicbooks, Novels, and fanfiction Buffy and The Scoobies will never die.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the best tv shows of all time in my book. It is a show that can be appealing to anyone because it has action,suspense,horror,romance,and even comedy in every episode. A few other things about this show that are amazingly great are the cast, crew, and Creator. From the main characters sarah michelle gellar,nicholas brendon,alyson hannigan,(the scooby gang) to the sound,camera, and lights crew members and the creator joss whedon. They have created some of the most memorable scenes and dialog in tv history in my opinion. One example of this is the line "She saved the world Alot" it is a line that is a prefect example of compelling dialog. Or the most memorable scene is when buffy is sing and dancing in the musical episode telling willow,xander,and giles that they pulled her out of what she thought was heaven. So the next time your looking for a tv show that is entertaining and compelling to watch, look to the best tv show of all time......

I love the BTVS complete series collection! I have been in love with btvs forever, so I was really excited when this came out. It has every episode plus bonus features! It is great that it all fits into one box too. The only problem that I have ever had with btvs is season 7. It just isn't as good as the others....

This was the best money i ever spent! Buffy is one of my all time favorite shows and to have all the seasons together in one beautiful box is a dream come true. The extra material is so fun to watch. You almost feel like you really know these people....

I originally started watching Buffy when the series first came out. I had really gotten into the show and unfortunately, had to miss a season here and there. Thank goodness they came out with the dvd collection! I purchased all of them and watched them from start to finish! It's funny to think about it, but I was glued to the TV for quite a while. Each episode continued to draw me closer and closer into the "story". The martial arts/stunts continued to amaze me as well.

If you are looking for something to keep you on your toes and you love a good action movie...then this is the series for you!

It is the strangest thing, but my daughter actually got me into watching Buffy. I never watched it while it was on TV (it could have had something to do with my ex-husband being a remote control Nazi)!!! My daughter started watching the first season and I started watching some of them with her. Needless to say I was hooked! It got to the point where I was begging her to watch it so I decided it was time to get my own! I bought this collection when it went on sale on Amazon for less that $100 !!! My husband thinks it is so cute how involved in the charcters I got. I would even call him up crying because of something that happened on the show! I do not know why this series "clicked" so well for me, but it did! I can't imagine ever not owning this set. ...

I have watched every episode of Buffy so many times I have lost count. I love the comedy and interaction between characters. I think my favorite characters on Buffy are Cordelia and Willow. I actually cried when Willow's girlfriend got killed. I know, silly me. I loved the fact they made Angel a spinoff of Buffy. Now THERE is a wonderful series. I love the fact that they included Cordelia in Angel as well. She is hilarious!...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the greats. It definitely will interest even those of you who are not interested in science fiction. It has great action, sweeping story lines and extremey witty dialogue. Basically the great fight of good vs evil. It is one of the few tv shows that I can rewatch over and over. All in all, I recommend the Halloween episodes best! Definitely a show to catch.

I'm a quiet, home-town girl, mother of three kids, who loves watching vampires and werewolves to relax. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is so different from what most people expect if they haven't viewed it themselves. Joss Whedon is a terrific writer of dialogue, situational humor and character development. Of course, they have a bunch of great marital arts, if you get excited about that, but I really connected with the characters. Who doesn't dream of being told that they're more than they think they are, and they have mystical superpowers that will save the world? It's all about friendship, loyalty, and believing you can do the impossible.

I've got to say that my favorite seasons were the second, third, and fourth, but in order to understand the whole story, you've got to include the beginning and the end, painful as it may be. Whedon doesn't always consider the feelings of the fans when he writes his plots, and a lot of us have been heartbroken at turns of events. Overall, though, it's......

Joss Whedon is a great showrunner and writer. All of his television series have been great, at least while he was in charge. Buffy went downhill a bit when he left to concentrate on Angel. The first few seasons were outstanding- funny, well-plotted, and action-filled. Most of the principal actors were very good, especially Anthony Stewart Head and Alyson Hannigan. Some people felt that the show "jumped the shark" around season 6, but I think there were still some very good episodes in the final 2 seasons. I agree that some of the latter-season story arcs were a bit ridiculous, whih is saying a lot when you consider that the show is all about vampires. Nonetheless, it's well worth watching, owning, and re-watching....
