&lt;p&gt;I had a very similar experience. &lt;br/&gt;We arrived in Toronto called the local number 3 times finally got someone to answer, when they finally decided to have someone pick us up a beat up van pulled up. The driver stepped out opened the back doors and made us put our own luggage in the back (I'm 5 months pregnant). Got into the van and it smelled like smoke!!&lt;br/&gt;Upon arrival the &quot;manager&quot; tells us that the require a $500.00 deposit that it's stated on the website and No it does not!!! They also fail to mention what credit cards they do accept!!!&lt;br/&gt;After all that finally got a car enjoyed our vacation went to return the car and yet again another surprise!!&lt;br/&gt;He had folded the receipt and handed it back to me and walked away I looked at...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Budget Car Rental at the San Diego Airport &amp;amp; overall company is&#160;AWFUL! You cannot use a Bank Debit Visa/MasterCard for their higher rentals.&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;We reserved a Scion &amp;amp; when we arrived, they were completely SOLD OUT of all their larger family vehicles. After flying 8 hrs with 2 toddlers &amp;amp; arguing with the rental people, we ended up having to take a Dodge Caliber. These vehicles DO NOT hold 2 pieces of luggage, 2 car seat, 2 pack &amp;amp; plays &amp;amp; a tennis bag.&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The people at Budget were very rude, not understanding &amp;amp; refused to&#160;accommodate us to a larger family vehicle unless we had a major credit card.&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Once we completed the rental, we called the customer service line &amp;amp; they refused to help us. I also wrote a letter to the corporate office &amp;amp; no return letter.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Budget Rental is the most unethical, unprofessional and has the lamest customer service ever!&#160; At Orlando airport, we stood in line for over an hour to get the car that I had rented online.&#160; The intermediate car that I chose was $204.74 and I wound up with a gold Mustang costing 379.74.&#160; The Budget rep says I have a really great deal for you in fact I'm ashamed for anyone to see it....so, he writes it on a piece of paper and shows it to us along with a picture of a blue Mustang.&#160; The rate of $175.00 was on the paper and I knew that it was less than what I had agreed to...I said &quot;Oh, that's nice&quot;.&#160; NO MENTION of an UPGRADE!&#160; I know what an upgrade is and trust me I would never have agreed to that. I never signed anything, agreement was in my name, credit card was in my name, and my husband initialed where told.&#160; The next day I look at papers and see that approximate charge is $520.71.&#160; I called 4 or 5 times and actually got to speak to someone on a couple of occasions.&#160; I left...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;I have used Budget for many years but no more.&#160;&#160; When I accidently went through an ezpass lane on a freeway (there was nobody manning the booth so I could not pay), the charge was 0.65.&#160; However 9 months later Budget sent a bill for $25.65.&#160;&#160; The $25 &quot;administrative fee&quot; is ridiculous.&#160; Furthermore, their customer service showed no interest whatsoever in keeping a satisfied customer.&#160;&#160; If they cared about their customers they would have waived the fee, which is excessive.&#160; They are just out to make a buck, they don't care about customers at all.&#160;&#160; They should have allowe me to pay the 0.65, instead they waited nine months.&#160;&#160; Make no mistake, they make a big profit off&#160;such fees.&#160; If they have that attitude, then I'm not going to use Budget any more and I hope others don't either.&#160;&#160; They don't deserve customers if they treat customers like this.&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Reserved a car for 1 week in Seattle on budget.com - small economy car, good rate. Landed in Sea-Tac, and rented the car, contract looked good. Went to get our car - was supposed to be a Ford Focus - it was a Lincoln Town Car! OK, no problem, the contract had the rate I requested.   Had the car for a week, no problems with it. We had an early flight out - so, per the rental agent's instructions, had to drop the car off with no attendant there. BIG MISTAKE - don't ever do this. If you rent a car, ALWAYS make sure you check out with an actual human being.&lt;/p&gt;&amp;#13;
&lt;p&gt;When I got home, my credit card bill was for $300 more than it was supposed to be. Efforts to reach Budget customer service have so far been useless. Their nationwide Customer Service is closed on weekends, and when they are open, they put you on hold forever when you call. I called a few times but gave up after being on hold. I contacted them via budget.com, received an automated email response, and that's all.  I still have no idea what...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Awful service. I have rented from Alamo and National before and this was my first time trying Budget. I made a reservation online and was late for pick up. The guy at the counter was a smart *** about it. He asked me what time I had made the reservation and asked me what time it was. So he said he had no car available for me. I really don't think that was necessary. I think that was very unprofessional and rude. I'm not saying all Budget locations are the same but I'm definitely staying away from this place.&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Budget Car rental are cheats and have the worst customer support I have ever seen. &lt;br/&gt;No wonder the company did not survive by itself and was taken over by Avis. &lt;br/&gt;I booked a oneway rental from Ohare on 7th June, the booking was done through expedia where I had declined the insurance. Also when I picked up the rental car I was told to sign in places to decline the insurance. The cheat/lady at the counter repeatedly told me that I was declining the insurance and that I would not be covered, which I agreed to as I have my own car insurance. &lt;br/&gt;To my surprise, I was charged insurance and when I contacted them they said that I signed for it. I agree I should have read what I sign for, but these cheats keep you engrossed in words while you sign for something other than they are telling. &lt;br/&gt;After contacting customer support, drop off location (as it was oneway) and even the Ohare area manager, all are covering up their location staff by saying &quot;You have signed it&quot; &lt;br/&gt;I beleive that the insurance coverage is...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;The trip to Disney was something we'd planned 4 months in advance and got a packaged deal. Everything went ok except our car rental. They, (Budget) may be cheap but look to get screwed when you return it. We seemed pressured to get the extra insurance, which I didn't, when I picked the car up. But when I returned it they don't tell you about the EXTRA taxes and fees which was almost as much as the rental alone. Then we got a letter yesterday,&#160;(a week later) saying that the car was returned with less gas than what was in it when we rented it and had charged our credit card for 2 gallons of gas @ $7.44 a gallon. And in case you are wondering, no it's not a typo but yes $7.44 a gallon,( $14.88 ). This really ticked me off since I made a point to fill up the night before, (@ $2.98 a gallon) &#160;because we flew out early the next morning. I have a hard time believing we burned 2 gallons of gas in the 20 minutes it took to drive to the airport. Plus, how do I know it was filled to the top when...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Budget Rental Car has a FastBreak program that allows you to put your profile information in their program.&#160; You can also pick a GPS, fuel options ahead of time.&#160; Then when you get to the airport, especially some of the larger airports, you get dropped off at your car or a screen that tells you which car to go to.&#160; You get in the car, show your drivers license as you leave and you are on your way.&#160; Clearly the easiest plan out there.&#160; Also as a FastBreak member, you can ask for a different car if you don't like the one they picked for you.&#160; At the smaller airports, they have a special Fast Break line at the counter just for you.&#160; The paperwork is already ready , once again, just grab and go. Very efficient and after you are done...they email the receipt to you.&#160; A great option for business travelers especially since Budget cars are available in almost all airports.&#160; The drawback is that their rental cars are usually the furthest from the airport so it takes their shuttle longer...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p/&gt;&lt;p&gt;We rented a car from Budget for 3 days, for a final price of $243. Our flight was cancelled and we had to fly from another airport 30 miles away, so I called Budget to ask whether I could return the car there instead. I was told they would charge me $110 for that. Although it sounded way too much for 30 miles, I agreed. When I returned the car, I was charged $500! After several complaints everybody kept sending me to someone else, and nothing happened. Some (but not all) of the customer service people were extremely rude. When I said that for the extra $260 they charged me for 30 miles I could have taken a helicopter (which is true), the man replied: &quot;If you are so rich, why do you care about the $260? Another man told me &quot;if you have a problem, sue us!&quot;.
&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;In addition, it took 40 minutes for the check out and I almost missed my flight. 
&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Bottom line: I was ripped off, plain and simple. 
&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I would never recommend Budget to anyone!&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>After a trip to Berlin where I rented a car for 5 days I found the rental price about half again as much as I'd expected. I had not filled the tank and expected there to be a sir charge for the half tank but this was a little much (about $150 much.) I called Budged to get an explaination. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The person I talked to said it would take two or three weeks (yes weeks) to get an answer on international inquiries. I asked to speak to a manager as this was a rediculous time period to wait. I was told that there was no one else I could speak to. The people who take care of international billing didn't take phone calls and there was not another level of management that could assist. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I asked to be transferred to the complaints department. I was told this was the complaints department. This is some&#160; of the poorest phone support I've ever had.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Two days later (not three weeks mind you) I was called by a representative and told that the additional charge was, indeed, a fuel charge. Refills are done at 2.85Euros/Liter...... </description>

&lt;p&gt;1 Week rental, business reservation.  At the end of the week my wife and son both have the flu and can not travel by plane; so we want to extend the rental and make it one way to our home city.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Budget: If you keep the car; we will increase the charge to a one way rental since the day you picked it up.
&lt;br/&gt;Me: Ok I will return it and rent a new car for one day.
&lt;br/&gt;Budget: That will be $371 for your one day one way rental.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I'm sorry but I just paid less than that for the entire week with the car; what are these people smoking?  If it had been as high as $200 I would've taken it.  I could buy business class tickets for the next flight out of the airport to my destination (one way) for all of us for $265!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Budget; you are in the same building with 5 other rental companies and 10 different airlines and you want to charge more for a Ford Focus than the airline charges for the flight!?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I will never even consider Budget for my rentals in the future; Hertz and Enterprise are my only...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>
