Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer is the best unit on the market. Very easy to connect, use and so many features. Fax, Copy Scanner, and Printer. Photo Printing can be done directly from digital camera or flash cards. The Brother All in One has a tilt screen for easy reading. It will even let you know when a phone line is in use. The Ink cartridges are rather pricey, but the last a long time, compared to others that I have used. Photo prints look like the real thing that you can pay alot of money for. The computer software will let you make changes to photos, let you know how much ink you have left. A safety feature is that the Printer will shut down when out of ink to prevent damage to the unit. Copies can be printed in color or black/white. I use mine to print tax returns for clients and the forms look professional. My husband uses it to make copies of his club meeting minutes. I would recommend to anyone that wants a great All-in-One machine.
...

this2shallpass19 says "It prints, copies, faxes AND scans." about Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer

I purchased the Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer because it offered everything I was looking for at a reasonable price. It also got good customer reviews from several retailer's websites. My HP printer was a piece of junk, so I was determined to try a different brand and thus, chose Brother.

This all-in-one printer is very convenient since I own my own business. I can do all the things at home that I used to go to Staples to do in their office center. I frequently use the printer, copier and scanner, but have never used the fax.

I find the control panel to be kind of confusing for more high-tech needs. It is easy to print and copy regular things - you just press the "copy" or "print" button, but if you want your items copied a specific way, the control panel is not very user-friendly. I have given up on trying to figure it out. The pages print quickly and the ink does not smear, so that is nice, but the ink cartridges are more difficult to insert than in my old...
...

Al Ihave been able to do with this printer is copy, scan, and print. The other functions iclude be able to print out pictures in the picture tray and fax. Ihaven't been able to do those functions and now the feeder for the paper doesn't work and I have only had this printer for a year. It has paper properly entered in the tray but it constantly tells me that that there is no paper and won't feed. I am so upset.
...

Dee101g says "Brother MFC-465CN costs way too much" about Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer

I wanted the Brother MFC-465CN to cover some modest needs. While it was inexpensive to buy, that is where the savings end.

The setup was easy, whether for local use or networked except that the documentation was sparse. This made it hard to find where to connect the USB cable. Fortunately, there are videos online (locate through search engines).

The print is ok, not fabulous. While legible, it lacks crispness and intensity. Speed did perform within expectations.

Brother ink is expensive. There are some generics (refill shops) out there, but it tends to leak. I got about 1/2 ream per cartridge which is ludicrous. Page speed was good, though.

All told, cost of ownership makes this printer too expensive.
...

stryofmylife says "we all wanted to go "office space" on this thing" about Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer

Bought this to make everyone happy! It could fax, copy & scan! After two weeks it would pirnt nice copies but fax feed broke! We only used the fax function perhaps a dozen times before it gave up. It also seemed very expensive from a cost per page with color. WE found ourselves replacing a different color ink cartridge very often....

rgwilliams says "Excellent Printer, Blows Away the HPC6180 That It Replaced." about Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer

I was forced into buying my Brother MFC-465CN printer when my HP Photosmart C6180 died after only a year and a half (and after only printing/copying less than 5900 pages).

I have prior experience with both HP and Brother printers --- I have come to swear at HP for their products and customer service (aka, NONE) and have come to swear by Brother products. I previously had a Brother laser printer that performed without fault ---- it got retired when my step-son took it off to college. I replaced it with the HP OfficeJet K80 and then the HP Photosmart C6180 when we set up our wireless home network. I wasn't all that happy with the OfficeJet K80 and considered another Brother printer before I purchased the HPC6180, but the footprints of the available Brother models all were too large for the space where I needed to place the printer. I settled for the HPC6180 --- a mistake from the outset.

From the beginning, the HP Photosmart C6180 printed slowly (both black and color) and never scanned...
...

slugbug says "Performs as needed no complaints" about Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer

I just purchased this to replace our HP 712C so anything was an improvement but I am so happy with this printer. I read reviews and did my research before ordering. I have not used all the features as of yet but the print, scan and card reader features are all excellent. I see that Mac users have had troubles with this printer but I am a desktop PC user and I've had no trouble at all with this unit. For right around $100 this printer will hopefully last for several years which is partly why we decided on it. It has wireless ability which will likely be the way of the future sooner than we all think. The ink is reasonably priced (even better if you purchase compatible cartridges online) and has lasted for quite awhile so far (not sure how many sheets we've printed). Overall I am impressed with this printer....

grem says "doesn't scan with Apple iMac-black isn't black" about Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer

First, the black ink comes out as dark gray at best, even when printing in the best mode. And print time is not fast. The most irritating thing, though, is that the scanner will not work with my new iMac. I specifically checked for Mac compatibility before buying this printer, but I guess it is only compatible through Tiger. It does not work with Leopard. It prints, but I can not get the scanner to work. I haven't tried the fax yet....
