This sewing machine is a good machine to learn on, as long as it does what it's supposed to do. For me, the thread tension was totally lost, so I ended up having to hold the spool with one hand while I secured the fabric being sewn with the other, which would not be easy for a beginner. Also, sometimes the machine would like to eat the thread and make messy stitches. Now, I only use the machine for sewing on zippers and using the tight zigzag stitch...only stitches that cannot be seen on the finished product. I have since bought better quality machines.

On the good side, the machine features 10 stitches. The bobbin winding and installation process are very simple and well explained in the manual. The threading process is also simple, although in some spots you will need a long slender object to guide the thread. The feet are also quite easy to put on and take off. This machine is actually the first one that i had ever actually gone out and bought for myself, as my others were hand-me-downs from family members when they had bought a new one. i love the different patterns that are available on it for edging and embroidering if you want to. It's a great machine for crafting and home repairing for clothing and the like. The Brother line is actually ne that I used when i worked for a local dry cleaning business here in our area. They asked me which brand i preffered and that iswhat they bought.

One christmas i started early in the year to make all of my family members a quilt. I had worked at a factory where i was able to home the scrape material and alot of them were already the size that i needed exxcept for maybe alittle trimming. i am not a profesional sewing person, but a few years ago i desided i wanted to start to learn to sew.i bought a brother ls2125 , it does allot of things i was not familiar with , i didnt take any lessons on how to use this machine or how to sew. i just read the book that it came with and a few times called the company to ask questions , i found a few people that were very nice to talk to a person who had no idea what they were doing and that is like gold to me when i pay money for something and someone from the company is willing to help me that is something. any way i learnd to sew clothes which is its weight in gold cause i am a full size woman and clothes are expensive to buy. but now that i can sew i make expensive things for less. i also learned to make quilts to keep us cuddly warm on cold nights..although this machine is not for makeing quilts or large jobs , it does just find for me at this time, and yes i would love to buy more brother sewing products later that will help me...

My husband bought this Brother Sewing machine for me for Christmas almost two years ago and I was never really impressed with the quality of stitching that it offered. I know that the price range was around $80, which is not too much for a sewing maching! I was happy about the price but realized I got what I paid for. So far I have had problems underneath with the needle hitting or scraping rather, the metel bobin underneath. Sometimes I would randomly get stitching that would come out looking grey...like it was twisted between metal pieces or rubbed agains something black. I would have to pull out the stich and start all over! It machine is very easy to use and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The machine is also easy to thread and easy to change the needles. The pedal gives perfectly and feels comfortable to use. There are excellent options for the stitch type. I am a light sewer so far only using the maching for repairs and beginning sewer projects. ...

The Brother LS-2125 sewing machine is the best bargain out there! I bought it for less than $100, and it really suits my needs. I'm sewing much more now that I have it, and I'm enjoying it more. When I first started looking around for a new machine, I really didn't consider this one because of its low price. But I read quite a few good reviews about it, and I have to say, I agree!

The machine is lightweight and easy to lift and carry. The instruction manual is easy to read and understand, and there's even a quick start guide to show you how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. The stitches are neat and the tension is easy to adjust. I used the satin stitch to repair my daughter's favorite stuffed animal, and it looks professional.

I've had several sewing machines, including some that had a lot of advanced features, and this one is my favorite. I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone, especially beginners and the easily frustrated, since this machine presents so few...

i own a Brother Sewing Machine - Mechanical - LS-2125 and it works really well. i almost no trouble with it. i say almost because most of the time its user error that is the problem. over all its a good sewing machine....

I too am an owner of a Brothers sewing machine...I've had mine for many years now and it hasn't let me down. I have sewn many quilts on this machine,even hemmed blues jeans..and it did the job...

It doesn't have all the fancy stitches, but didn't purchase it for the reason...good basic machine

I bought this as a gift for the children, ages 10 and 8. I got it on sale for under $40. This was the Brother machine, with the stitch selector knob on front.

This was very easy to use and to teach the children. It is a nice basic machine. A great starter for an adult or if you are just needing to do odds-n-ends, perfect! It has straight and zig-zag choice.

I love this Brothers sewing machine. This is my first one that I have bought and will continue to buy. The threader isn't always easy to use, so you must hand thread it but it is over all a good product. We have sewed on everything from Carhart pants, cotton and I have even quilted a wall quilt!!!!!...

Suits my needs. Portablility is a must if you do no have a large home. Have used it on several projects ranging from clothing to large curtian projects. Love the ease of switching stitch settings. Wish it can with several extra bobbins. Overall a great sewing machine for the money....

Brother LS-2125 Sewing Machine

I'm usually a hard-core Singer fanatic, but I had the opportunity to use this model extensively for a week long period. I was doing some last minute costumes for a church Christmas play and my usual sewing machine was at the shop getting a standard, scheduled deep cleaning. I agreed to work on the project late in the game and used this sewing machine instead of my usual machine. It doesn't have all the bells & whistles of some of the fancier, more expensive models, but it really got the job done effectively. It's really easy to thread, it sews very smoothly, its relatively easy to move between kinds of stitches. This machine is super easy to fill new bobbins with. I never could get the stretch stitches to work though. I looked at the users manual and had it on the right settings, but it just kept doing the regular stitches. This Brother LS-2125 is a great machine for beginners. Easy to follow instructions and you can get started on a project in a snap. Keep it cleaned and oiled and it will be running for years problem free. I use this machine for basic household tasks such as: pillows, drapes, garment repiar, placemats and tableclothes. I don't know how to sew clothes, so I have no input on how it functions for that. I do know it works great for every task I have put it through so far. I have used material as dense as denim and corduroy and as fine as sheers for windows....
