Brother Sewing machine-computerized Se-270D. This is the worst embroidery machine I have ever used. Brother Disney 150 was better than this machine. Too many problems with the bobbin on this machine

I've had this machine for over 3 years, never using it. I thought it only embroidered and was not going to learn how to use it for embroidery only. Well, did I get a shock when one day I decided to read the manual. I now love this machine and will never use anything else.

The Brother SE-270D sewing embroidery machine is one of the greatest sewing machines I have ever used. I have at least 10 sewing machines all different brands. I am so impressed with this machines embroidery capabilities I don't think I'll ever hand embroider again.

Capabilities

The Brother SE-270D embroidery machine has so many versatile functions and ease of use I can't imagine using anything else. It embroiders beautifully with no thread change if you purchase the multi thread holder for ($8.95). You just slip in a card or use the built in designs, load the different colors of thread you need, place material in embroidery frame and press the sew button. I have gone through 2 of these machines, the first one lasted about 6 months, I was quite pleased with it - user friendly machine, nice stitches and the embroidery feature was easy to operate. After using it for about 6 months I got an error message to loser the pressure foot, it was lowered, tried turning it off and back on to clr, called the company I purchased it from and they told me could not be fixed, computer glitch and they sent me a replacement as they had offered a one year warranty. The second machine has been a nightmare, will not stitch consistantly, skips stitches, especailly any stitch pattern that has to make a stitch to the left, it often skips that part of the stitch. Also has severe problem with the bobbin thread making a tangled mess, makes it virtually impossible to do embroidery, seems to be a real lemon, not worth fixing and warranty has expired...

I have had this Brother Disney sewing machine for a couple years. I bought it because I wanted the embroidery machine, but after buying it I also use the convertible feature to sew clothing. This machine has worked very well for me in everything from childrens clothing to formal wear....

I saved for a year to get the Brother SE-270D sewing machine. I thought i'd be able to make gifts with the embroidery portion of it. After only 6 months, i started having problems with it. I've taken it in to the shop 3 time already, and still it messes up. After writing Brother & explaining the problems i've had, they basically blew me off. I'm very disappointed with the product AND the company....

I personally own a brothers sewing machine. It has zig zag options and embrodery, it works great and it has a 100 year warranty! its beautiful and i make beautiful clothes with it. Every body should own a brothers sewing machine, its so easy even kids could use it.

This is a great machine for the home crafter! It is compact and easy to use but has tons of great features you will find in larger more expensive machines. The 4" x 4" embroidery area is large enough for many projects like handbags, towels, baby gifts and so much more. I have had this machine for almost a year and haven't had any problems with it even though I use it quite a lot. I love it! Especially the thread cassette - which I have heard many complain about. Thanks Brother for another great machine!...

I love this machine. I gave up my older machine after having difficulty finding parts for it and got an awesome deal on this machine. The kids were super psyched that I could now embroider on their clothing. I can make cute Disney embroidery on the baby's clothes. It's simple to use and it's a good quality machine. I can't complain at all. I wish the cartridges were a little cheaper, but these are licensed characters so I can understand. :)...

I love the brother PE 270. It is a computerized embroidery & sewing machine combination. I primarily use it from embroidery because I have another sewing machine and do not want to take the embroidery carriage off. It takes a little craft experience to get used to but it really is a neat addtion to my crafting room. So far I have embroidered bags, stocking and dog bandana's. I finally have the hang of embroidering the lettering without problem. If you are sewing savvy and want to move into embroidery this may be the machine for you.

It is my favorite new addtion to my crafting abilities

I have always been quite the crafter. I always have thought that embroidery designs were so cool, but I never thought that I would have the talent to do them myself. I bought this Disney embroidery machine at Walmart for a couple of reasons. First of all, it's the only machine I could ever afford, and secondly, I love Disney and all the characters. I finally decided to give it a try.

I could not believe how easy it was to set up. I have never sat within a foot of an embroidery machine, and yet the set-up instructions were terrible to follow. Even with that said, within 20 minutes I was ready to go. I also purchased some inexpensive wash cloths to do some practicing, as well as a variety of colored thread. You can use any thread you want to embroider, but I reccommend that any color you are going to use a lot of, your basic colors, buy in the expensive kind. There is a lot of thread on the spool so it will last a long time, and it has a nicer shine to it....

I have used this machine to do many projects, But the reason I use it most is for the embroidery. I have made many gifts for family and friends. Even though you can purchase additional discs you can also upload a lot of designs from embroidery pattern sited....

This machine has over 200 preinstalled designs. I find that the cards are easy to locate on e-bay and are not as pricey as some of the other machines. It does not require a special needle, it uses a standard size 14 needle, which is less expensive to use than the machines that require embroidery needles.

The directions are easy to follow both in the book and on the machine.

The threader makes it east to thread the needle.

Additional hoops can be bought and used with this machine
