We are a military family so not only are we on a budget but we move a lot. When we did our cross country move, I did not hesitate to purchase two of these for my children. I had seen videos of single strap carseats vs 5 point harness and wanted the best. They are tethered into my van, NOTHING moves them. My 8 year old son feels safe as does my 7 year old daughter. Even my 13 year old sat it in and felt comfortable (hmm). I recently had a squirrel camp out overnight in my van and chew the foam underneath and its no problem, its ony 6 bucks to replace! I thought for a high prices carseat, parts would be high, not at all!

I couldnt be happier with these seats. They take up a three seat bench though, very large and from what I understand, you can not take them on a plane, but we dont remove them from the vehicle so it didnt bother us.

I am a bargain shopper, comparision shopper and safety shopper. Sometimes, safety outweighs the bargain when it comes to my childs life! We...

We are big fans of britax this is the only brand of car seat we use. We bought my oldest her first britax after she out grew her infant carrier it was one of the other seats when she got too big fro that one my husband found the regent and she is now 6yrs old and still sits in it she loves it. When my 2yr old was born we bought the Britax infant carrier it wasn't available when my oldest was born. When she out grew that we got her a regent and now we have a 5 month old that is going to out grow the britax carrier real soon and we will be getting him a regent,. I highly recomend Britax car seats they are the best and safest around. I tell all new moms and dads to check out Britax they wont regret they did.

I purchased the Britax Regent for my daughter when she was outgrowing the Britax Roundabout. I worry about the safety of my child, especially with more high profile vehicles on the road, more instances of drunk driving, texting while driving and teens getting their permits earlier and earlier. Add this to the everyday accidents and people just not paying attention and the liklihood of being in an accident is quite high.

The consumer reports review on this product was very highly praised. I was able to find a great deal online and get safety and value both.

The fabric cover washes up nicely and still looks brand new. This is a seat that will have longevity and a safe 5 point harness.

I think one of the most important things is that my child will willingly get into her carseat with minimum fussing, even when tired. It seems to be comfortable for her and the side pockets on the seat are great for her litterless juice boxes and baggies of snacks.

Okay so I spent $200 for this car seat for my son. We spend a ton of money for the car we want to drive around in and then 60 bucks on a car seat. No I wanted my son to be safe. This was one of the best rated car seats when it came out 5 years ago from britax. But boy what a pain to put in. We installed it according to the directions but then found out we did it wrong when a trained car seat installer saw it. She fixed it. Then there was a recall. So they sent us another part. But that part wouldn't install with my van so the car seat lady spent 45 minutes on the phone with customer service to install it correctly. THEN my son got to be 40 pounds and it had to be installed differently so back to the car seat lady. ANd you can't use it on an airplane, which in my eyes is good, because if I have to uninstall this seat I'm just getting another one, I can't install it myself! Oh yes, it's impossible to clean without uninstalling.

I cannot say enough great things about this Regent seat! We still have our daughter's Marathon in my husband's car, but we found a great price on this, so we have it in our van. That being said, please know that this is a HUGE car seat. We affectionately call it "The Beast." We have it in the passenger captain's chair of our van and it fits without a problem. However, if you have a smaller car or sedan, I encourage you to go to the store and try it for yourself. I can tell you that the Regent does not fit in my husband's Saturn Aura.

Getting it in and out is a real chore. However, fortunately, we don't have to do it very often. It's worth the effort though knowing our daughter is in such a great seat. I cannot imagine traveling with it or trying to move it from car to car.

The fabric cleans up very nicely. We've had a couple of throwing up episodes and I've washed the cover in the washing machine on the gentle cycle. We have the girl pattern and it's really cute. ...

This car seat really does fit my big kiddo! This seat is HUGE! It weighs a ton and takes up a LOT of room, so if you have a small car, it is not going to work, but for a large vehicle, this is PERFECT for larger kids when you want them in a 5 point harness. My daughter is 46 inches and weighs 49 pounds and she still has plenty of room to grow. I do wish the seat had the velcro tabs on the harness and hte sides of the sides of hte seat like the smaller seats in this brand so the straps would stay back when your little one gets in he seat, and a real cup holder would be nice, but even still, this is really the only comfortable seat out there that really does fit larger kids in a 5 point harness. It is pricey, but really, you can't put a prrice on safety with your little one. And it comes in pink! Thank you britax!

We bought these seat because I wanted to keep my 4 year old in a 5pt harness which I think is so much safer than a booster using the cars seat belt. It is a big seat and sometimes a pain to install but my son is very comfortable in this seat.

We absolutely love our Britax Regent. We got this seat for our then 4 1/2 year old daughter. She was outgrowing her other seat and we were not at all comfrotable putting her into a booster seat. We decided to keep her harnessed as long as possible and we knew the Britax Regent would deliver in that department. This seat was tricky to install in the begining. I had to find a car seat tech in out area (don't go to the fire department...please!!!) to help me out. I was just doing one thing wrong and when I figured it out I got an awesome, and very tight install. It took some time the first few times I installed it, but I'm an old pro at it now. It's just as easy as any other car seat install now that I know what I'm doing. My daughter is now almost 6 years old. She weights around 43 pounds and is 46 inches tall. She has more than enough growing room in this seat and will be in it for another couple of years I am sure. When she's in it I know she is being protected and...

We love this carseat! We had the Britax infant carseat as well and noticed that our daughter cried a lot when we put her in it. She has stopped crying in the car altogether now that we have changed her into this carseat. Not only is it forward facing, but it also allows her to sit upright and see where she's going as well as look out the window. Some of the other carseats that we've tried out didn't allow her to sit as upright. She definitely prefers that position. If you have a fussy car rider, try this carseat. It will change the way your kid thinks of the car!

I am the proud owner of two Britax carseats, and as far as I am concerned, they truly ARE the Cadillac of carseats.

This seat was almost too easy to install. It was so simple, I felt like that couldn't possibly be "it". But it was! The LATCH connectors have clicks similar to seatbelts, and easy to pull straps. I'm confident that the seat is installed properly, and it's not difficult to remove and install quick in another car, if need be. The tether anchor was also much easier to hook up than I anticipated. It's a great safety feature that only Britax has. The seat is large, but does not take up the entire back seat. With this seat, and baby's Marathon, there is still room for a passenger in the middle.

Some other things I LOVE about this seat:

I haven't seen one manufacturer meet Britax with the quality of the straps and harness. The shoulder straps are thick and wide. They don't fold up on themselves or get tangled. They are also wide across your child's shoulders.

I am glad they make this carseat! As I said above, I feel my boys are safe when riding in this carseat. It's the only carseat I found with a 5 point harness that goes up to 100 pounds. They can ride in these seats comfortably until they are seven or eight years old! The seats are very large and heavy, but well worth it. Easy to install and safe! I love these seats!

Have you ever seen the 5 point harness videos? If not search it and you will know that your kids should be in 5 point harnesses for as long as possible. How long is possible? With the Britax Regent you can use a 5 point harness till 80 pounds! That give you more protection than most seats out there. Actually there is only about 3 other companies that can even offer a comparison. Car seats and booster seats are not made equally. A child that is in a booster with a seat belt is not riding very safe. In a 5 point harness they have major protection in the event of a accident. You may never need a 5 point harness but if you are ever in accident you don't want to regret saving $50. I am a informed parent that budget shops to survive. I knew that I had to spend more for these seats but how can you put a price tag on your childs life? I lowered my spending in other areas and got the seats that my kids deserve. We have installed two Britax Regent car seats in my SUV. I have two kids (ages 6 & 7.5) and wanted to find a 5-pt harness for both kids. Although the kids are old enough to use booster seats, I just felt they were more secure in the Britax Regent seats. The seats are roomy and well cushioned so I knew they would enjoy riding in them. When my son falls asleep in his seat, he is not bent forward like he would be in a booster. This is a safer option for our family and well worth the price tag. I would strongly recommend it to other parents as long as they have a vehicle with a big back seat to accommodate it. Our family has purchased other Britax seats but the Regent is definitely the ones that will be used the longest. It has been a worthwhile investment just for the peace of mind it brings.

After searching for hours on the internet for a reliable, large, 5-pt harness carseat for my twins I discovered the Britax Regent. At the time when my twins were large enough to outgrow their convertible infant carseats they were still not mentally mature enough, and did not weigh enough, to sit in the correct position in a belt-positioning booster. I believe that my investment in two Britax Regents was like purchasing two life insurance policies!! I may not ever be involved in a crash, but my children are the safest in a 5-pt harness that can hold them until they are 80 lbs and very tall. They can actually stay in these seats until they are able to go directly into the seatbelt. Being a very safety conscious mother, these features spoke to me and convinced me of my right decision.
