MarksMom05 says "Britax Companion Car Seat is well worth the money." about Britax Companion

My husband did a lot of research on car seats before our son was born in 2005. He was convinced that the Britax Companion infant car seat was the way to go. And he was right! We never had any issues with this product. We felt that it was the safest car seat available. It was easy to insert and remove from the base. The handle adjusted easily. The padding was soft and thick. In fact, our son preferred sleeping in the car seat for the first several months! All-in-all we felt it was worth the money we spent....

Britax Companion with Side Impact protection - I love this car seat. I have a 4.5 month old daughter & this is the only car seat we have, so I can't make too huge of a comparison, but just seeing the graco or other car seats makes me glad I bought this one. It looks so much more substantial. Another feature I love is the anti-rebound bar which is on the base & pushes against the seat back so the whole thing doesn't go flying around as much as other car seats in a crash. The side impact piece fits around my girl's head and is 1000 x better for neck support in a crash than a useless fleece neck supporter would be. This thing is a beast- it is big & heavy- but you cannot compare that to the level of safety it delivers.
...

clcaudill says "This is the best car seat I ever used, and I have tried a LOT" about Britax Companion

I bought the Britax companion seat for my first child, and it was definitely worth the investment. The higher price tag was initially a turnoff, but after I took a look at the safety features and got to see/use the seat myself, it was well worth it. The adjustable head rest and the seat pad made it easy to fix the seat for your baby's size, and the fact that the head rest was the same material as you'd find in a bicycle helmet-I felt like I was putting a little helmet on my little boy! I used the seat until he absolutely would not fit in it anymore. I did a lot of research and the Britax seat, and the Britax brand itself definitely seemed to have the market cornered as far as safety features were concerned. I recommended the seat to all the moms I know. On the down side, it was very pricey, over $200. Also, it was small. It was a help to me because my child was very small, and stayed that way for some time. I also drive a small car, so for me that was initially a plus but I can see where...
...

I splurged on this infant seat for my third child. The seat is heavier than some other infant seats, but I loved the safety aspects of the seat including the head 'rests'. The sun shade is also large. Would buy again.
...

We were quite satisfied with the Britax companion. It was a little difficult to install the base but once it was in it was very simple to pop the seat in and out so daily easy was quite simple. Our child was very secure in the straps and the head protection cradeled her head properly. We felt certain that our child was as safe as she could be in a moving vehicle and that was our major priority. Great quality. Efficient. Safe. Super cute. There were a few downsides which we didn't perceive as dealbreakers but you might... It is very large and doesn't fit well in small cars. We have an aveo and my husband can't ride in the passenger side when the carseat is in bc his knees are in the dash. Also the handle is very difficult to switch positions.
...

I like knowing that my baby is safer in this car seat, and I really appreciate the head pillow that it comes with. However, I find myself frustrated in the day-to-day use by the difficulties I have getting it out of its base and by how hard it is to engage the buttons simultaneously to move the handle. The handle thing is the most annoying. If you're not positioned straight on, trying to engage the buttons for moving the handle, it's nearly impossible. Because of this, I hardly ever move it, which makes it less safe than it would otherwise be.
...

well this is one very good carseat and to tell the truth my family and the kids we have in are very happy. I have got into 1 fender bender and that was it and the baby was okay because of the safety constraints it had on it were very very good. it also keeps the baby asleep when you are driving, Because of the whole fact that it has so many cushions it keeps it quiete and comfortable for the baby. i would highly reccomend this baby seat to a mother who wants their kid to have a comfortable drive aswell as safe one. also it is very affordable in many diffrent ways. you get a very dense plastic indestrucable material as well as very soft cushion seats and i think he prices start at 80-100$ if you want the leather it is about 80$ and if you want the suede it is about 100$ i am very pleased with the whole option it comes with for the new borns and the older ones i am reccommnding this to every parent. thank you and have a wonderful day.
...

I loved this carseat. I was never worried about my daughter in this seat with all the extra safety features.

We bought the Britax Companion carset when we had our second baby. We never used an infant seat with our first and thought it might be handy when having two little kids. Britax had finally come out with an infant only seat so we knew it was the one we were going to get. We loved it. Yes it is heavy but that is one of the great things about it. It has a bunch of great safety features that make it one of the best infant seats out there. It is expensive but you can not put a price on safety. Plus since they are good for 6 years before they expire you can use them for more then one kid soit is worth saving the money for.

Is it more expensive? yes! Is it worth it? absolutely!!!! Straps that dont twist, super safe, easy in and out the Britax companion is the ultimate car seat for an infant. Comes in dark patterns (hides stains) and has the best recline positions of any other car seat ive used and im on my third child. Its durable and of an obvious high quality that other cheap car seats just dont have. The head support is sturdy and actually does its job. The worst i can say is its really heavy. The front bar is also an innovation unique to the britax companion any safety feature that works is a good safety feature. I also like that you can buy seperate bases and pop the seat in and out of multiple cars. My two wishes for improvement would be that it would be lighter in weight and had more patterns to choose from, it lacks a bit in the style department but it compenates in safety and ease of use. ALl in all the britax companion gets 4 point from me.
...

Well my wife and I chose to get this seat for many reasons and I will try to touch base on as many as I can. First off it has a rebound bar and no being an engineer I do feel like if we were in an accident particularly a rear end accident that the bar would absorb a lot of the force keeping my baby safe. We also liked it because it has the head pillow that keep your babies head supported when they are too weak to in the first few months. Our baby was 5 weeks early so this came into play much more than we would have ever thought. Being able to have multiple bases is a plus for us since we never know which vehicle we are going to drive we can just pop the seat in which ever base and we have the stroller so the baby can just pop into that as well. Adjusting this seat is extremely easy and straight forward. The last reason we got this one is that it comes in multiple colors and we opted for the teal color so we could use for either a girl or boy. It is a great, great carseat and...
...

After much research while I was pregnant with our first baby, we decided on the Britax Companion despite the weight and price. We were lucky to find it really cheap from someone who only used it a couple of times, it was basically new.

I am very happy with our decision! I was really satisfied especially when I saw our car seat standing next to a Graco which looked like it has no side-impact padding at all, it wasn't even soft and the baby looked uncomfortable in there. Our daughter looks super comfy in her Britax and I have the peace of mind that it is one of the safest car seats out there, after all, that is what the company specializes in!

She doesn't always like being put in the car seat, but usually does ok if she is either sleeping or if you talk to her and tell her she is going outside while putting her in. Once she is in there though, forget about it, she is sleeping like a princess. It seems very comfortable and snug for her, she was a small baby so I am guessing she should be...
...

Britax Companion has the most safety features, with a anti-rebound bar - something that other car seats do not have (believe me I have looked up and down). It is also a good value for a good price. I would recommend this car seat above all others. It also has a very stylish design. It's easy to use and install and has a secure attachment. I feel like my baby is safe in this car seat....

Britax is the best of the best when it comes to car seats, and you get what you pay for - and the Britax Companion Infant Seat is no exception. While not the most expensive on the market, they are pricey. But with features like Hugs protection straps, TSIP head protection, and the optional low weight birth foam insert (contact Britax to purchase), this seat is the most versatile, safe, easy to use seat on the market. It was a sad day when my two little ones both outgrew this seat. The base is easy to install using Latch straps, or use the seatbelt with or without the base. Very convienent when travelling with a friend or other family member - you don't have to move the base to continue to provide excellent safety for your little one. The base has a stability bar to provide even more safety protection. The covers wear extremely well, are machine washable, and very durable. Use this seat with a Britax stroller to make a wonderful Travel System. The straps are easy to adjust......
