lgas says "A GREAT PLACE TO BE FROM" about Brigham Young University

I graduated from Brigham Young University and feel that I received so much more than just an education. I went to school with an incredible group of people. Every single student and faculty member was tops. I felt safe at all times, never felt like just a number, no matter how large my classes were. I've been out in the "real world" for a few years now and look back with great pride at being able to attend such an incredible institution! The cost of four years at this top University is less expensive than other private universities for one year. The campus is beautiful and the students are so clean cut. Such good, solid people that really care about more than just getting through school- they look at life as a whole- preparing at college for the rest of their lives, not just their first job after graduating. I had so many wonderful opportunities presented to me while I was there- too many to be able to take advantage of them all!
...

lindseylaudie says "Top quality education with the values of former years." about Brigham Young University

I attended BYU for the first 2 years of my educaiton. The greatest part about BYU was that the teachers were respectful to students and required the same from the students. After my husband graduated and got a job in Arizona, I transferred to ASU and was shocked by the language and attitude of many of the teachers, as well as the students. I felt BYU was a much better quality of education, as well as teaching good, wholesome values that should be valued today as much as they have been in he past. It's sad how often words that are offensive are said in casual conversation. Despite that, the classroom should hold a level of decorum that is above this type of attitude and crudeness. It was interesting to see the level of respect students had for their education at the two universities, as exemplified by the very strict "no cheating" policy and lack of trust of teachers at ASU, versus the honor code which uses personal accountability as the guide for students. BYU definitely works at a higher...
...

nawtapinoy says "Awesome School, great environment, wonderful place" about Brigham Young University

Brigham Young University is a great school to go to if you have Christian values and standards. It is extremely nice to be in a place where drinking and smoking are completely out of place. Where there is not shattered beer bottles all over the ground, or people puking on the sidewalks. The cleanliness of the campus and the wonderful job that the grounds crew does with the flowers everywhere is awesome. However, only plan on attending Brigham Young University if you are serious about school. If you really just want to go to college to get away from your parents and screw around a lot, maybe a different campus is more suited for you. Because the LDS church does a lot of funding for Brigham Young University through donations of its members, the tuition prices are extremely low, especially considering the quality of education that is given. Due to this it is important to get in work your butt off, and get out, so that someone else can come in and get their education. After...
...

I loved my days at Brigham Young University. I was undecided in my major for my first couple of years, but then found my calling and future career field in Sports Medicine. BYU prepared me so well for my career. I got over 3000 hours of practical work prior to graduation, as well as amazing class instruction from some of the best professors on campus!

I love, love, loved the social scene at BYU. There was a variety of people to hang out with. There was always something to do.

The cost of my entire undergraduate education was less than the cost of 1 year at some of the private universities that I later worked at. I didn't realize it at the time, but I got an great education for an amazing price....

Brigham Young University is hard to get into, but once you are there it has everything. The education you receive is rich and varied, with a good general education program and even better colleges and study programs. There are independent study programs, the professors are approachable and serious about their work, and the atmosphere is one of fun but goal oriented learning. The library is excellent, and BYU is ahead of the game in getting students the best education possible in every way. Not just about academic learning, the higher standards you learn there will benefit your life in every way, not just while you are studying there but for the rest of your life....

The J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University offers a stellar legal education in a morally sensitive environment. The education offers instruction in law, but also discussion about issues of morality and ethics. The religious affiliation of BYU creates a unique educational environment that creates strong and educated individuals for future service....

Brigham Young University has an outstanding academic program, a great social scene, and amazing athletics programs. My personal favorite is of course the football team. Bronco Mendenhall has done a fabulous job of turning the program around and creating something amazing. No one will ever forget the Beck-to-Harline pass to win the BYU-U of U game a few years ago!...

I attended BYU 4 years and graduated with a major in history and minors in editing and dance. With my varied areas of study, I got to experience many different aspects of BYU. All were very satifying. The campus is beautiful, and for the most part, everyone respects and takes care of the campus. The students and faculty are friendly and kind. The faculty truly care about you and want you to succeed, not only educationally, but also spiritually, emotionally, socially, etc.
I felt safe on campus. People have high morals. I look back at my experience fondly. The value of my education can't be beat.
...
