valerigibbs says "Not a better dog out there. Boxers are the BEST!" about Boxer puppy

WOW....I can write a review on Boxers?!?!?! This is awesome!

We have two boxers living in our home. A male and a female (both "fixed"). They are both absolutely amazing. They cuddle and love more than any other breed dog I have ever seen.

And entertaining is an understatement. When our pups play together...It's like watching a great television show. Who needs a tv when you have a pair of boxers?! They jump and spin, play bite and roll, and the whole house is their playground.

When it's bedtime, they don't hesitate to let you know that beds are for sharing. They love to sleep with their people. We went through an experimental phase when we tried not letting them sleep in our bed. So they went and slept withour son. And our son LOVED having them sleep with him every night.

Boxers are NOT outside dogs. They don't do well in extreme heat or cold. However our male boxer loves to play in the rain. He doesn't even seem to notice it's raining. He just runs and runs...
...

We bought a beautiful white male boxer puppy when he was 8 weeks old. We fell in love with him and since we had been dog breeders before decided we wanted to breed boxers. I searched for a young adult female who was already old enough to breed but not too old to breed at least two litters because our nephew also had a male he wanted to sire a litter so our plans were to breed this dog only two times. Our nephew would get pick of females from the litter with our male and we would keep the pick of the females from the litter with his male and then she was to retire to be a pet only. Well we bred her one time with our male. She was an escape artist so even when she was in the fensed in back yard she had to be on a long lead so she could not jump the fense or push out under it. Our male never escaped. Well one day her lead was long enough that she got over to the gate and opened it. She could not get out but our male got out and since he had never been out of the yard without...
...

kbgirl411 says "I love my boxer baby! " about Boxer puppy

I just got my 7 week old boxer baby a few days ago. I used to raise and train labradors and shepards, so getting a boxer is something really new. I picked a boxer after reading on line of what great protectors they are, but not an offensive dog. So far, she's turned out to be one of the most interesting dogs and charactors that I've ever had. She seems to be easily trainable and a very easy going dog. I've already taken her out for a short 1 block walk on a leash, though she does tend to stop, sit and bulk about continuing. I have a pool, so am curious on how she will react trying out swimming with me. Now, on her potty training....I sure need advice on that! The last time I had a puppy was over 10 years ago, so this is turning out to be not just fun, but a bit of an adventure. I'd like to be able to get feedback on what to expect in the future from my boxer. I don't know if this site does that, but may someone can respond. Thanks
...

We have a male and female boxer. These dogs are very smart, loving, loyal, and get along great with the cat. They love attention and need room to release energy. They are by far the best breed I have ever owned. Should you get two you need to make sure you devote the same amount of time and care to each because they can get jealous of the attention you provide the other....

Daisy, our year and half old boxer believes that every human needs an armful of boxer preferably with her tongue stuck up your nose. Since we do not allow 70 lb boxers, well really, we couldn't if we wanted to pick her up. For right now she has resorted to what works best for her. Drive by Lickings. She will jump on the bed get a big lick in and then jump off the bed with a big huge grin. I swear this Boxer is lauging. I have never met a boxer that did not have that spark of humor in their eyes, Boxers seem to all have the potential to be the clowning around make you laugh til you pee Breed. .
...

tigerflower says "I love Boxers too!" about Boxer puppy

I do not own a Boxer but I love one dearly - my grand-dog TKO (teeko)! He is the brightest, most beautiful boy! I send him gifts with every care package I send to my daughter and son-in-law.

Boxers are a high energy dog and require both attention and enterprise - they must have something to keep them busy. Variety seems to work for them too. TKO has never been destructive because he has a wide assortment of toys to occupy himself and he has a companion for when Mom and Dad go off to work - granted, his companion is a bit unorthodox since he is a cat - but he is a very big cat - a Norwegian Forest Cat.

TKOs parents (owners) are very responsible and make extra effort to see that he gets the exercise he absolutely must have - by taking him regularly to the local dog park where they live in San Diego.

Boxers also require additional nutrition - because they are high energy - it can be hard to keep meat on them - so they may need extra fats at certain times of the year - they are a warm weather...
...

abrat says "Boxer puppy" about Boxer puppy

A boxer puppy is as cute as a button, but one must remember that all puppies grow up to big dogs. This boxer is no exception. Before taking her home, do research on the breed. Know the medical issues that they could experience as time goes on.

Know their temperment and analyze how it fits into your familyBEFORE you adopt them. When you bring home this cute boxer puppy, you are making a commitment for a minimum of 10 years. That's 10 years of love and affection. Walks, vet appointment, grooming, training, and lots of love. They are coming into your home as a new family member. They are now your new "kid". Not to be tossed aside or given away, any more than your human kid. They will devote their life to you. They will be there for your laughter and your tears. You must treat them as you would want someone to treat you.

A boxer puppy knows no rules. They must be taught their boundaries, just like a new baby. They will reward you if you reward them. This is accomplished by POSITIVE training....
...

Boxers are my absolute favorite breed! I've had lots of dogs in my life but boxer's make the best family pet. I have three girls ranging in age from 3 to 8 and all my girls grew up with a boxer around. My first boxer, Matilda, was very loyal and loved to play with my girls. After she died we rescued 2 boxers from a shelter and they have also been fantastic with my girls. I have my kids' friends in and out of here and it doesn't even phase them. They seems to be born to love children and love affection. They do have lots of energy and need to be exercised and played with every day or they can get into "mischief". But I have found this to be true of most dogs anyway.
...

We have a Boxer that is a year old. She is a sweet heart and loves to play. She want's so badly to play with our cat but the cat hates her because Daisy tries to hold her down and lick her.

These dogs are great but do have a lot of energy!!

If you are a neat freak this may not be the dog for you as they drool a lot, then when they shake there heads the drool goes everywhere. Also when they eat food gets stuck in their jaws and when they look up at you it falls on the floor. It is really quit comical.
