Seriously...don't waste your money on any other docking station. &250+ may seem like a lot of money, but if you love listening to your iPod this thing truly makes the music sound incredible especially for the small-ish size. Just bought it for my husband for C-mas and we've been using it every day and it's very portable throughout the house (i.e. teenage party in basement or even out by pool). We also have the Bose stereo w/ multi CD player and that's awesome, too, but we got that prior to the whole iPod thing really taking off and I don't think Bose even made this docking station then. While we can hook up an iPod to the stereo, something is lost w/ the connection in that you really have to crank up the volume to hear it, not to mention you have to have a separate adapter and monkeying around w/ plugging it in, etc. With the Bose docking station you just place it on there and you're ready to go, plus it charges the iPod at the same time. I absolutely love the Bose IPOD Dock. My husband and I bought ours last year and have not stopped using it since. The sound that comes out of this little portable device is amazing. You can truly have a houseful of music just by turning this on. You can also hook it up to your computer through the audio jack so if you do not have extra speakers or speakers at all in your computer, this is another great option for that a sit can be used for multiple tasks. Super easy to move around as it is lightweight. Love that the docking station for the IPOD rotates back into the speaker so dust and dirt do not accumulate when you are not using it. Compared to other IPOD docking stations, this is a bit pricey, but it is worth it for the Bose quality of sound! And it charges your Ipod while you listen. It charges faster if it is plugged in to the wall, but the cord can also be taken out and it will still charge. Great item to spend a little money on!

The Bose Sound Dock is one of the best gifts I have ever received! The sound quality is incredible, crisp, clear, and you notice undertones you don't with ear buds or a less expensive docking station, and the size of the dock is unobtrusive. The dock has several different inserts which allows it to accomodate different appliances, different mp3 players, with or without cases; I have yet to find an insert which doesn't work.

The Bose Sound Dock is fairly portable, and is small enough to fit on a kitchen shelf, or anywhere your music or audiobooks wish to be! The Bose Sound Dock also comes with a small, thin remote, so you can control your music without having to get up out of your seat!

The Bose Sound Dock is expensive, but you definitely get the quality you pay for. You will realize the full potential of your music, hearing every beautiful innuendo that the composer intended.

My mother-in-law's Sound Dock tends to require a sort of "rebooting" from time to time; just unplugging...

I personally love the Bose sound dock, the sound is amazing, it compact, it's a Bose. Bose in general rarely turns out bad products. There are a few things that would help improve it, like an input for something other then the ipod, but I believe the new generation has that. I also lost all the different inserts for the different types of ipods, we started with the 5 or 6 inserts that come with the dock because we started not needing any, but then my ipod broke and a got a nano, I found that you don't need the inserts, the nano sits on there just fine without any support, maybe a heavier ipod would need the insert.

So far we have had no technical issues with the unit, just hook up the ipod and press play. The remote on the other hand doesn't really have a very long battery life and you have to practicality be standing on top of the unit to get it to work. It wouldn't work across my living room, perhaps it was because the battery was dieing, but it's not a AAA, it's one of...

I've wanted the Bose SoundDock for about a year now. My father brought it with us on our Cozumel vacation and we used it to listen to the music on our iPhones as we lounged in the sun. I told my husband that I ABSOLUTELY WANTED ONE FOR CHRISTMAS. That didn't work so well, but I eventually received one for my birthday in March.

The Bose SoundDock works with iPods and iPhones. You simply pop your device into the dock, turn it on (using the internal rechargable battery or the AC power cord), select your song, and hit play. It is very easy to use and control this SoundDock with the included remote control. I figured out how to work everything without even opening the instruction manual.

I've heard various types of music played on the Bose Sound Dock both indoors and outside. The sound quality doesn't disappoint, even when the volume is turned up and it is running on battery power for 6-8 hours. Frankly, music played through the Bose SoundDock sounds as good as many stereo...

I love my Bose Speakers. The sound is amazing. My ipod fits perfectly. It's sounds like I am playing a cd on our stereo. I would highly recomnmend this to anyone....

The Bose iPod docking station has great sound as do all Bose products! If you buy this docking station you will not be dissapointed! Comes with a remote and charges your iPod while it's in the station! Love this docking station!...

the bose ipod dock is by far the best out on the market. though it is a bit more expensive, you get what you pay for. i would pay twice what it cost. it has superior sound quality to anything i have heard on the market. the highs are crisp and clear, and the lows are surprisingly deep and full for the size of the product. i have the old model that is not portable. the new portable model is perfect. i will definitely get it next. bose accels in every aspect of speaker quality and sound. you cant go wrong with anything that has the bose name on it....

I had been shopping around for a good iPod dock/speaker system to use for excercising to and I found my Bose. I do like it because it has clear audio and adjusts to different genres pretty well. If you're a sound geek like I am, you aren't presented with as many options as you'd like. First off, the speakers are only pointed straight forward, so when I'm working out, I have to have it pointed straight towards me to get the full sound....

I am writing on the portable version. The sound quality has been great. Friends have been very impressed with the level of bass from such a compact unit. The volume is phenomenal. I take it with me to my various work locations and the compact unit just fills the room. Having the small remote means that I can move around the room with complete flexibility. The only thing better would be to have an LCD display on the remote to know which song or playlist is playing.

Having the rechargeable built-in battery makes it extremely easy to move around the house or out to the deck or pool without having to worry about a power source.

The Aux input has made it a wonder to use with my laptop. It not only makes watching movies in the hotel room a joy, but has also been a business tool when using the laptop for presentations.

The price is kind of steep and having pay another $50 for the portable bag seemed to be an insult, but the quality is sure worth it.

This little unit has truly awesome sound...no sub-woofer or other speakers, but it truly sounds like a surround sound system! It's light-weight, and can be moved from room to room, as needed. Listen to you favorite playlists while fixing dinner, thru dinner, while you work, to lull you to sleep......

I received my Bose SoundDock and immediately popped my iPod on it. I was shocked by the clean, crisp sound I heard coming from such a small device. If I closed my eyes I would have sworn I was listening to surround sound! I've had my SoundDock for 2 years now and it is just as phenomenal as the first time I listened to it. I would say more, but the name Bose speaks for itself.

I can't really think of any cons. This is a compact little speaker system. I have had it on my kitchen counter and it is easy to move around when necessary. I can just place my Ipod in the docking station and play my music. The remote is small and only has a few commands. But great sound....of course....it's a Bose....

I got this as a gift from my employer (yes, I work for a generous employer) and didn't even have an iPod. So, I bought a (Product) Red nano, got an iTunes subscription, copied numerous CDs and now completely enjoy listening to music through the sound dock. I'm looking for a good MP3 player for my car now so I can enjoy my iPod in the car....
