ajhgjhkgkghj says "biggest waste of money " about Bosch Nexxt Washer - 500 Front Load

wow. what a waste. i don't usually write reviews, but this thing got more stars than it deserves. if i could give it less than one, i would.

why, do you ask?

1. stinks beyond belief! leave the door open, wipe the rubber after each wash, clean the water line, have the service guy come out and dump 4 gallons of water on your new hard wood floors - yeah. none of it gets rid of the smell of dead animals. oh, that's not the best. when you towels get wet, they smell yummy, too. our 6 year old says, "i don't want the chinchilla towel!

2. we were sold on the washer having the capacity to hold a king comforter - WRONG.

3. doesn't always spin loads dry enough to put in dryer.

4. dryer wrings everything together.

5. basic p.o.s.
...

Since new (this spring) this washer finishes and I remove sopping wet clothes out of it Tech has been out 4 times basically says its a bad design Bosch knows about it, he cant fix it, and they accept no responsibility for it, Bosch has become a joke dont waste your money.

The dryer is not much better, no dryer sheets allowed and the sensor dry doesnt work very well at all,

Leons furniture where I will never shop accepts no responsibility either, apparently after it is out of the box and they have your money they are done with you. Sorry I had 72 hrs to return it unopened(store policy I believe)

Live and Learn, I wonder whats Nexxt for Bosch, maybe a concience

jstapp101405 says "Not quite the washer of my dreams." about Bosch Nexxt Washer - 500 Front Load

I did a lot of research before purchasing a new washer. I wanted a front loader with a large capacity, and something quiet. The Bosch Nexxt seemed like it was going to be the best option and the best price. It was quickly delivered and easily installed.

I was disappointed with the level of cleanliness this washer achieved. The cycle times were very long. Sometimes the spin cycle didn't actually get the water out of the laundry and it would be dripping when the cycle ended. The same load at other times would be almost dry when it was done.

It's an attractive model, easy to use and can fit large loads. It is almost silent.

It does not always get things clean and I found the spin cycle unreliable. You really must make sure the door stays open after use to dry out, or mold/mildew grow quickly and there's an "off" smell.

I'm not sure I would purchase the Bosch Nexxt again, due to my experience.
...

I am a single mom of two, when I bought my first home on my own, I bought the Bosch 500 nexxt series front loader, great reviews, and the dealer highly recommended it. I thought great, "I won't have to worry about purchasing another washer again for a while, wonderful energy saver". Almost to the date that my warranty ran out I have had nothing but problems, the rubber liner ripped...flooding my laundry room, and now the door is cracked along the inside edge down the front, it's not cracked in a place where I could have it on something,it is right along where the door hinges are, plus the washer is placed where if I open the door its not going to hit anything. BOSCH was NOT helpful at all..not in anyway, the person I was communicating with after many e-mails said he would refer my complaint to someone else....I never heard from them again. What a nightmare!! If you don't have the money to make many purchases or repairs I would not recommend this washer. The cycles take forever to wash a...
...

I have been a Laundry Fanatic for almost 40 years...since purchasing this Bosch Machine I have gradually lost ALL of my whites...no matter what detergent I use...no matter what bleaching product I use...my whites are gray...and getting grayer...so discolored are they that I am going to have to begin taking them to a laudromat to keep from being embarassed when my husband changes clothes at work and other police officers get a look at his GRAY socks and underwear...I would gladly trade my one and a half year old front loader for my 25 year old top loader that I trashed when I bought this new one...we did SO MUCH research into what was the best...and I think we got rooked! I wouldn't recommend a Bosch Nexxt Front Loading Washer to ANYONE, EVER!
...

We have had a nexxt 500 for almost 2 years.

The clothes come out clean, I had to figure out it only takes a tablespoon or less even of detergent. The clothes come out almost dry.

Prop the door open so that it will dry out between uses. If it does mold or you have hard water like we do use a cup of white vinegar ever 24 loads or so and run a hot cotton cycle. I do wish it had a plain spin cycle. We are on a well and it saves us about 50$ a month in water and electric.
...

I bought the Bosch Nexxt washer dryer set about three years ago. I'm sure I save alot of detergent, water, energy, but spent the savings on repairs. If you don't mind your towels coming out like cardboard, and smelly, this IS the perfect set for you. Also, my dryer broke dpwn, just replaced the motor, and the door sensor went. So now I'm replacing the dryer with a Maytag one. I had a Maytag stackable for 18 years, with very little problems. Shoulda stuck with that. The Maytag repair man is lonely, and I hope to keep it that way.

Defineatly recommend this .... to you enemies.
...

The Bosch Nexxt front load washer is the last washer you will ever need. It gets my clothes clean, uses less water and is extremely easy to use. I like that it is not overly computerized, so very little can go wrong with it electronically. Instead of dials, there are buttons that are inset into the front of the machine so when moving the washer, there are no dials to break off. It is an Energy Star appliance so it uses less enery and water to get clothes cleaner. You have to be sure you use a detergent rated for an Energy Star front load washer - if you use too much soap, the washer will stop and you need to run the rinse cycle a couple of times before continuing with the wash cycle. But once you get the hang of the amount of soap to use, you'll find that you use less soap and the clothes get just as clean or cleaner than traditional top load washers. This means that not only are you using less water, but less soap as well. Over the life of the washer, the amount you save...
...

I have had the Bosch Nexxt Washer/dryer for 8 months, and the mold and odor have become unbearable. I have had a Meile FL washer for 11years, and it has never had an odor problem. I have finally searched for Front loading washers+odor, and found a site with solutions that I will try-the first one being to switch to POWDERED HE detergent. The other solutions, to take off the front panel and empty the drain pump every week, then run bleach only through the machine with no clothes, or buy high priced tablets to use when washing the clothes are simply not things I am willing to do for the life of this machine! I bought the Meile back when Front Loaders were not readily available, and have never had to have a service call for it.
...

clothes are soaking wet even after the bosch washer has nearly shook the house down. our clothes smell like a dead dog, i suppose from the stinking water left behind in the door ring( (open the door to dry it out, that smells bad too.) the fabric softener dispenser has quit functioning, so now have a pool of that sitting in the dispenser. the kids leaned against the plastic window on both the washer and dryer; they are both broke now.if only a person could turn off the insistent beeping when a load is done. will never buy an over priced bosch appliance again(or power tool). also own a bosch dishwasher, been happy with it, very quite; until notice of a recall on the control panel (will catch on fire and burn your house down). they sent out a repairman, i took off work so they could fix it, he spent an hour on it only to say he had the wrong part and would get back with me. that's been two months ago. ohyah, he said don't run it while no one was home.got to love that advice. got to go,...
...

This is the worst washer ever do not buy it, you will regret it. The collar holds water and does not drain which causes mold to form. This mold is next to impossible to remove. With this " high efficiency" washer I have to run four cycles for each load of laundry. I have to run a bleach load first to try to get rid of the stink (never really goes away) then wash, then spin and then drain cycles and repeat for each load. This washer has ruined my handmade baby blankets and many articles of my and my childrens clothes with streaks of mold that does not come out. When you call Bosch they tell you to leave the door open. Thanks, you do not think I have been doing that. They basically said unless there is a lawsuit they will not do anything. Do not buy this washer you will regret it.
...

Bosch Nexxt 500 plus. I would NEVER buy a Bosch front loader again. Bought this Bosch Washer and Dryer in May 2008. Had a repairman out because on the refresh cycle the clothes came out sopping wet, wasn't spinning the water out. The repairman couldn't find anything wrong and called the company to be told that I was using too much or improper detergent. I use HE detergent and used only what the bottle told me. Company said to use 2 tbsps. I have done that and still at times clogs up again. I started using 1 tsps HE detergent and today it wouldn't spin the clothes thoroughly again. I wish I had bought a top loader or a different brand. Bought on the recommendation of Consumer Reports and the representative at the store. Would not recommend to anyone. For the price, you could buy a top of the line top loader.

lgspeaksout says "My clothes smell dirty because of mold on the door" about Bosch Nexxt Washer - 500 Front Load

I was thrilled when I first bought my Bosch. It was beautiful to look at and I was happy to have the effienciency and large capacity. But that changed quickly. A mold problem developed on the door and causes the clothes to smell bad. I have cleaned with everthing as instructed by Bosch but to no avail. Bosch said they could not replace the machine because it still functions. I thought the function of the machine was to get clothes clean. If they smell dirty, then my guess is that they have mold on them from the door. The Bosch representative told me there is no way to get the mold out of the door ring.

Bottom line - I will never buy another Bosch product. Not only am I embarrased about the bad smell, but I will be forced to buy anothe machine (probably a top loader) that is not as energy efficient. My initial investment in the machine is especially painful during these hard economic times.

I purchased a Bosch front loader washer & dryer in Oct. 2007. The front rubber seal smells awful and I have used the expensive tablets which in my opinion defeats the purpose of saving money by using this washer. If I don't leave my door open on the washer, it smells like mold. My washer & dryer is located behind closed doors in my main bathroom so this means I have to leave them open also. If I had been told this I would have purchased an old faithful top loader instead. Also sometimes it doesn't spin all the water out, repairman looked at it while still under warranty and said to adjust detergent. When this happens you have to run a complete cycle to spin out. It won't just let you spin the water out. These front loaders are more trouble then they are worth. Will not buy this brand again!
...

I've had a Bosch Nexxt 500 Plus washer for 1.5 yrs now and hate it. Yes, its quiet, but it does not effectively clean our clothes. Even simple spots with pretreat that wouldn't have needed pretreat in my old top load washer don't come out after 2 and 3 washes. I've followed all the suggestions/instructions the manual offers to no avail. Also, the wash is rarely done when the timer says, so what used to take me 1 day to do all our weekly laundry now takes me 3 days with many wasted trips down the stairs thinking the wash should be done only to find out it is not. Socks are continually getting stuck in the door gasket, and though it says to put them in a laundry bag, this does not get them clean. The door is constantly slamming on me as I try to remove clothes from it despite the adjustments available (and our floor is level). I shouldn't have to keep something nearby to always prop the door open. The manual doesn't provide practical or helpful information about the cycles either. I have...
...
