Dharmabummer says "highly overrated" about Boppy Pillow

This is the first item we returned after the birth of our son. I think the Boppy pillow is highly overrated. First, it is not really designed for breastfeeding. It's hard to position the pillow while you have a baby in your arms. It slides around as you are feeding. It's not really designed for the "football" hold; it doesn't extend around your body far enough for the baby to rest on the pillow in this position. This pillow might be nice to have to prop your baby up on, but it isn't worth the price for that use alone. I prefer the Brest Friend nursing pillow. That's what they had in the lactation specialist office at the hospital. That pillow has it's own drawbacks too, but it is much more practical than the Boppy for breastfeeding. The only thing I like about this pillow are the different designs you can buy for the cover. Plus, it is very soft. Those features alone were not enough for me to keep it around though.
...

TabithaRutger says "not ideal for breastfeeding newborn" about Boppy Pillow

I am very diappointed in this product. It is too big and poorly made to support baby. She always slips between me and the pillow and I have to constantly rearrange her. Also if i have on shorts or my legs are bare the pillow just slides right down my legs and I have to keep pulling it up. Not ideal to use when trying to breastfeed a newborn b/c you are trying desperately to perfect the latch and you shouldn't have to focus on pillows that won't stay in place. Regular house pillows work better and next time I plan to buy the pillow that has a belt around your waist!! that should keep it in place!
...

AngiBowman says "Impressive All-Around Parenting Tool" about Boppy Pillow

Most women and stores offer the boppy as a nursing solution, but this wonderful asset is more than just that:

For the Pregnancy

I can't begin to tell you how agonizing my last pregnancy was just two years ago. By 7 months I was already in severe pain thanks to a pinched nerve. My daughter decided it was most comfortable to have a foot in my ribcage and generally I hated going to the bathroom every 5 minutes. The boppy truly help my life - well, at least made it as comfortable as it could be.

Use the boppy as you lay down to help you get comfy. For me, it was behind my back. For my sister-in-law, it was between her legs. Regardless of how you use it, it's not just a post-pregnancy item. The $20-$40 price tag for the "naked" pillow won't feel so expensive when you actually use from the moment you get it!

For Nursing

When most people think of the boppy, they think of nursing. Generally, that's what it's used for. It wraps around a parent's waist level and offers enough support to give a mother's...
...

bjoy says "indespensible for pregnancy and early motherhood!" about Boppy Pillow

I can not stop raving about my Boppy to all my friends. I am one of the first to have a baby but some others are pregnant right now. I carried a big (9lbs14oz) baby and at the end my hips and back hurst so bad. I took the boppy with me all over the house to sit on. It relieved a lot of my tailbone pain. I had it with me in the hospital. It made the first few days of breastfeeding so much easier. I dodn't realize how many hours a day would be spent with my baby in that position! Even if you are formula feeding, wearing the boppy around your waist while feeding your baby is a real arm saver. Also, my baby doesn't really like to lay on her back but I can recline her in the boppy for play time and she is much happier. It's a little hard to stuff the pillow back into the slipcover after washing but I have learned to not dry the slipcover all the wat to avoid this. Overall it's a great product for the price and comes highly recommended.
...

Megawick says "Great for moms and dads!" about Boppy Pillow

I got the bobby pillow as a baby shower gift. I didn't have one with my first daughter, but thought I would try it now. I can't believe I didn't have this earlier. At first I thought I would use it exclussively for nursing, but was incredibly surprised to see how much the Boppy Pillow would come in handy!

My 10 year old daughter likes to use it when she is holding her little sister. My husband likes to use when he is cuddling with my daughter on the couch. It works great for both husband and daughter if they are giving the baby a bottle.

I love to use the Boppy Pillow for a safe place to set her down. I can put the pillow on the couch and prop the baby and know that she is safe. I also set her down to take a nap and the bobby pillow swaddles her, keeping her cozy and warm.

The boppy pillow can also be used for tummy time. Which really helps the baby develop back and neck muscles. The boppy pillow helps keep the babies head up rather than on the floor during tummy time.

I am sure when my...
...

The boppy pillow was such a great buy! It was expensive, but worth it. It worked great to hold the baby on while feeding, for breastfeeding and bottle feedings. We used it to prop baby on for tummy time. He could lift his head and look around. We also used it to prop him up when he was laying on his back. We used it as a support when he was learning to sit as well. The removable, washable cover was great. All baby products should be washable! The shape of the pillow holds up well, for use with more than one child.
...

I could absolutely not live without my boppy pillow!! It has beena life saver since the day I brought my little one home no matter what room we are sitting in the boppy comes with us! Its nice to just prop the little one up in so she can sit by herself, or you can wrap it around yourself and it helps to support the baby while you are holding them! It works real good for my husband who has terrible athritis to help support her while he is holding her cause she can ainly rest on the pillow but she still has the comfort of feeling her daddy's arms! Plus as theltle one gets older if you turn them over on their tummy it props them up so they can look around the room! Its not overly firm so that its uncomfortable but it still has the support they need to prop/ sit themselves up! Seriously the boppy pillow may be a little pricey but in my opinion it is well worth the cost for the versatility that one little pillow may have!
...

boppy pillows are one of the greatest inventions out there for babies and mommys!!

The pillow comes in different designs and colors that you can choose from as well as organic material!! These pillows are the best when you're breastfeeding, and if not, they're the best to put your little one in while feeding them. It props them up after they eat, so they're sitting up and more comfortable. We love this pillow and we're so glad we got one for out second baby!! :)
...

stanton says "Helps support baby and reduces back pain" about Boppy Pillow

My Boppy pillow has gotten a lot of use with my two children. They are great when the babies are little because it helps support them while I'm nursing. This helps reduce back pain a lot. They are flexible so they fit around any sized person and work well in the rocking chair.

As the baby grows and is learning to sit the Boppy works great as a support pillow to put around the baby. When they fall over the pillow is there to break the fall!

I also love that you can change the covers. This was great since my first was a boy and second was a girl. The covers are also a great way to help your Boppy pillow stay clean because you can slip them off and throw them in the wash.

I highly recommend the Boppy pillow to any new mom! There are many things to buy when a new one arrives, and this is one you'll definately want to purchase! Your back and baby will thank you! They are kind of pricey, so put them on your gift registry-a lot of places offer a discount on items left...
...

sssjublou says "Better as a baby support than a nursing pillow" about Boppy Pillow

I used the Boppy Nursing Pillow for two of my three children. It was very soft and helpful for nursing but not very supportive. It would often slide off of my lap while I was nursing the baby. I often had to reposition the baby while he was latched on and that made it difficult to nurse. The pillow isn't very thick so I still has to lift the baby up to reach my breast and the pillow was a bit obsolete in that respect. I did not nurse very long but I kept the pillow for my baby to lay on. When he finished eating I would lay him on the floor on his back and propped his head and shoulders up with the Boppy. This kept him from spitting up right after eating. I would also use the pillow for Tummy Time, draping the baby's arms over the pillow. This positioned him up further so he could look around and it also helped him push up with his arms as he got ready to crawl. The price is decent and I might recommend this product to a friend.
...

khakisack says "Makes nursing easier!" about Boppy Pillow

I love my Boppy pillow! It helps me position my newborn for nursing and allows me to keep one hand free so that I can read, click through the t.v., or type a review on viewpoints one handed :). The Boppy is also fun to position my baby during play time and tummy time, and it helps encourage him to lift up his head and try to climb over the top. It also makes a good prop to hold my baby up for cute pictures! I love that it's washable, especially since my baby tells me he's done eating by drawing in a big mouthful of milk, then spitting it on the pillow (he's got a spunky personality). My only complaint is it seems overpriced for what it is, especially now that Walmart has a generic brand that seems nearly identical. Luckily, the Boppy seems to be a popular baby shower gift, and I actually received two, so I really shouldn't complain about the price. I wish it came with an extra cover, but you can purchase those separately.
...

I got my Boppy pillow at one of my baby showers. I had planned on breastfeeding and stuck it on my registery.

I started using my Boppy the minute we got home. I actually kind of wish that we had brought it to the hospital with us.

It was great in those early days. I would nurse my baby and often she would fall asleep on my lap after nursing. It was also great for her to lay on in the bed or on the chair/couch before she started really moving. It was the perfect size for her.

Now that she's 10 months old, we are still using the Boppy! And she still sometimes falls asleep on my lap using the Boppy.

I do wish that we had more than one cover. In the early days, spit up happened and usually the boppy got the brunt of it. But the mere fact that it has a cover is great since you can throw the cover in the wash but still use the boppy.

The Boppy is one of the must-have items for nursing moms! It's a great product!
...
