Thu, 15 Oct 2009 01:48:32 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Blue-Cross-Blue-Shield-review-67c01 clandon8 2 http://www.viewpoints.com/Blue-Cross-Blue-Shield-review-c0c2 <p>After 7 years of group coverage, and paying premiums to Blue Cross and Blue Shield, I was denied individual coverage.  I wasn't offered a higher premium, I was denied coverage.  The premium I currently pay is 529.94 under the current plan, a 200 dollar deductable PPO through a group plan.  However, they REFUSED me as an individual customer.  I am 34 years old, and the reasons that they declined me are for "seasonal allergies", "deviated septum", "hiatel hernia", "sinusitus", and "cellulitus".  In order to get coverage, I will have to use up my COBRA benefits, and then utilize their refusal to go on the state health plan for high risk insurers.  There is no customer loyalty, but they were happy to take my 529.94 per month for 7 years, only drop me once I was out of the "group" atmosphere.  The purpose of insurance is to protect the person from risk.  If I only bought insurance for things I didn't need, what would be the point?</p>...
