As an unfortunate victim of the annoying chapped cracked lip syndrome I have been perplexed as to solving the problem I encounter not only in the winter but all year long. My condition is beyond chapped. I literally have cracked painful lips and have used everything available in stick form for years only to mask and temporarily ease the discomfort of the burning the crack creates. I recently recieved a sample of Blistex medicated ointment to try on trial. At first I did not like the taste and flavor of the medication and almost removed it. But as it sat I discovered it was a mild minty medicated flavor and I came to enjoy it. Anyway as far as effectiveness after one or two usages my crack began healing almost immediately. The pain was relieved and my lips were softened and moist. It was an experience I have never gotten from any other brands or forms of chapped lip remedies. I no longer have this problem and use it every time I begin to feel a flare and my problems are...

This is the only medicated lip balm that will work for me. All the other burn my lips. I would recommend this for chapped lips.. but I wouldnt recommend it for using it on a daily basis. It works best for me when I use it PRN (as needed).

I just love Blistex. I have used it for over 20 years. I discovered it in Maine. My lips were always cracking from the cold. Using Blistex daily cures that right away. I still use it here in Florida. It is the best chapped lips ********/p>

Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment is one of my favorite lip ointment that I use everyday when I get cold sores. It is in a small tube very convenient to carry around whenever you go. You can buy it from any store you want less than $5.00. I usually use it for my cold sores it heals pretty fast if you apply it often. I love the medicated lip ointment when I use it because it is already medicated on the tube of Blistex already. I strongly recommend this Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment to use for your cold sores I love it and I know everyone will enjoy using it....

I have used this one for years. It tastes terrible and leaves a rather slippery texture on your lips but repairs all cracks and dryness.

I put a big slather on right before bed and wake up with soft lips all the time.

love it . it helps gey rid of cold sores that i get when i'm sick and not feeling good worse thing is they always appear at the top of my lip guess i shouldn't complain it could be worse it could be on the both sides of my mouth to where i wouldn't be able to open my mouth wow my boyfriend would probably love that i'd keep my big mouth shut then quiet would be restored to the house if i would keep my big mouth shut lol...

I love this product. I always have one in my purse year round. They make a medicated one with SPF as well. Nothing heals my lips better. I also cannot stand for my lips to feel oily or waxy and this product just leaves them feeling soft. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Blistex in the trusty little tube is the King of relief for chapped lips. For over 20 years go me I am the PRESIDENT OF THEIR FAN CLUB with the great creamy, easy melting, very shiny look to beautiful kips. $.59 a tube where I shop and Chap Sticks can only dream about Blistex's success. No feel like wax on my lips that is hard to put on chapped lips.

Unfortunately Blistex tried another group of tweenies who love rolling lipsticks, so they get metal rolling ball of blistex that is very watery & not good to cure hurting lips. But they are cool to kids, so they pay $3.00 each.

Give me the oiginal in the tube that fits anywhere & easy to use.

I live in the midwest and easily get chapped lips. Blistex keeps my lips kissable. When I get a cold and blow my nose a lot, a little blistex dabbed on my nose keeps it from being so sore. I can't make it 2 days without my blistex!...

I have three different flavors of Blistex. My favorite is the spearmint. It kind of tingles when it goes on, and I like that. I have the cherry flavor, and that seems less effective. I also have the original Blistex flavor, and that seems as effective as the spearmint. In really dry weather, you need to apply it more often, but less often than any other lip balm I've tried. When the lips start feeling kind of tight and dry, out comes my Blistex. I really love the stuff....

Blistex is the all encompassing brand name for several over-the-counter products intended to heal and shield your lips from cold sores. Several of them come packaged in what can best be called candy flavors. This particular one is just plain white.

I take several products for the cold sores that develop on my lips each at the beginning of each winter. Almost 20% of the population (according to the Blistex site) endures the same malady which is why this market has a lot of growth. Using the product is merely soothing; it won't cure anything since the reason for cold sores is a virus. But products like this make the condition easier to bear.

I have one precaution if you use this product. The tip is slanted so that the ointment is easily applied to the lips like lipstick. Be sure you have one product per person or else the virus may get passed around.

Active Ingredients

Dimethicone (1.1%) Essentially a moisturizer

Camphor (0.5%) a topical analgesic

Menthol (0.6%) another topical...

I love Blistex, I use the moisture stick, it feels as if it is protecting your lips from everything, the only downside, and yes I found one, is the very waxy feeling after continued use, I am sure there is buildup and then y ou have to wash and start all over again. But it is worth it, it does not dent your wallet either, kids love it also and don't try to eat it! I know my kids like to have smooth skin and lips, it is comfortable and also protects...

this is the only medicated lip ointment for me and my family. the first blistex i had was given to me by my husband when we were still dating. my lips hurt because they were cracked and very dry and i didn't know what to do because it was my first winter ever. (I was born and raised in a tropical country). i was amazed at how fast and long lasting the relief was. it was very effective and i didn't need to use it too much after that first time....
