I love this smartphone. Been using it about 9 months and I can't live without it. Although data plan expensive I wouldn't choose anything better.

Blackberry Pearl 8130. This phone is more than just a phone. It is my lifeline to the world. It allows me to check my email and reply to it; anytime of the day or night. Also, I can update my Facebook status and check all fo my friends whenever I feel the urge.

If I'm driving, I have the GPS function always ready to go.

It comes in a variety of colors. For girls, women, or Breast Cancer Research Advocates it comes in Pink. Yes, Pink. Of course mine is Pink.

The removable storage disk is great for transferring pictures from my computer to my phone, or vice versa. I love take pictures of all my dogs. This allows me to do so and not have to delete any when I want to take new ones. If I already have a great picture on my computer; I simply attach it to the storage card and insert it into the phone. Then, I can use the photos as ringer id's for my callers in address book or as screen saver/ desktop pictures.

My service is Verizon.

My Blackberry Pearl has become indispensible in my every day life. It has the everyday phone functions of placing and receiving phone calls, local, national and international. I have voice mail, caller id, call waiting, three way calling, and speakerphone, which are standard features. My calendar keeps my daily schedule as well as my appointments and my families appointments. My phone numbers, e mail addresses, street addresses, work addresses and phone numbers, birthdays and web sites are kept in my contacts. Not only do I have GPS, but I also have a street map application, so I seldom lose my way any more, plus it checks the traffic on the chosen route. I can send and receive e mails from my computer email address as well as my Blackberry E mail address.The blackberry pearl downloads my favorite songs and acts like an MP3 player. The phone has a camera with a flash to take those pictures that happen when you usually don't have access to a camera. It also has a video camera...

The Blackberry Pearl 8130 is a fantastic, intuitive smartphone.

There are many free applications available, including apps tailored for use with social networking sites, games, and easy access to important digital documents.

The BB browser is very easy to use, and most plans offered with the Blackberry give you the freedom to make use of this phone without breaking the bank.

Easy to hold, slender, and a custom dictionary make texting easier than the average cell phone. It has a MicroSD slot to expand memory. The QWERTY keyboard takes a couple days to get used to, but with the custom dictionary, you can add words that the phone doesn't already have, making autocomplete more aware of what you're trying to text.

Battery life can be shortened by the message alert light. You need to be aware when it is blinking, or it can drain your battery really fast. It does have a long talk time. Earpiece volume is excellent and easy to hear, and speakerphone works fabulously. It has bluetooth capabilities...

The Blackberry Pearl 8130 is so easy to use and convenient. I store all of my pictures, videos and notes on my various applications. I can access the internet quickly to catch up on the lastest news or sports updates. It's sleek and compact and fits easily in any purse I use. Not only can I text but I can send emails right from my phone...how cool is that? When I go to the gym, I simply plug in my headphones and access any music application and I'm jammin' to the last hits while getting my exercise. In addition to music, I can access games for moments when waiting is too much to bear and I need to pass the time. I can keep up with my appointments for school, work, and personally with my calendar. It is so convenient in that I can even retrieve my work emails by syncing my Blackberry Pearl 8130. I never miss an important work email.

Having a big family, I am always taking pictures and recording my nieces and nephews. My pictures come out so clear and both pictures...

Before getting this phone, I used to have an LG flip phone. It was an okay phone for texting friends, making phone calls, and receiving calls. Unfortunately, this phone did not satisfy all of my needs. I was not able to receive emails. I could only access the Internet for a limited time and at a set fee. Needless, to say I was not entirely happy with that phone and wanted to get a BlackBerry for some time. I was beyond ecstatic and overjoyed when I finally received a BlackBerry Pearl Smartphone. Now, I am able to access the Internet from any location. I can send and receive emails from multiple accounts. I can even create and send video clips to friends. The built-in camera on this phone is helpful on those occasions when I forget my digital camera. The screen is not as large as it is with a digital camera, but it is more than adequate for taking close-up shots when out with friends. For a long time I had been saying I wanted an iPhone, but I really did not want to change carriers from Verizon Wireless. I had dealt with the "other" phone company with a work Blackberry in the past and they were very hard to deal with, the story seemed to always change. I enjoy my Verizon Wireless family and have had great service from them...including when I called to tell them I wanted something like an iPhone.

The lovely customer service lady found me a MEGA deal on a BlackBerry Pearl...I wanted one after my friend Todd showed me he could get on Facebook! And then I started looking at available applications for BlackBerry - Pandora! Yes please!

So for like $20, and an extra $30 a month I am "cracking" along!!!

I also got several deals on accessories, the Golla carrying case I reviewed here - check that one out because those things ROCK! A bluetooh capable speaker phone for the car, a larger memory card, etc.

I even got SUPERB service when I called for help to load...

I got my Blackberry Pearl 8130 in February 2009 and I have never been disappointed by its versatility. It came with so many applications that I have found useful and it has many amazing capabilities such as a 2 megapixel camera, camcorder, voice dialing, and even wi-fi that I use instead of paying for an internet package. There are also lots of applications available online, many of them free if you look hard enough, that you can add to the phone to further enhance its features. I have even downloaded a streaming radio application that allows the user to listen to radio stations from around the world using either wi-fi or subscribed internet access. The phone fits expansion cards that enable it to hold thousands of songs or videos and all of the application icons can be repositioned on the screen so you can put them in any order you like. The picture clarity is nearly as good as my digital camera and would probably be comparable if it was higher than 2 mp. I was also pleasantly surprised...

This blackberry is odd. I use it and then it stop letting me dial numbers.

I have insurance on it but I have not had time to have it check out.

I have had my Blackberry Pearl for 2 years now and its my first experience with a smart phone. I really like having my Outlook features available along with my email and internet. I like the size of the phone although I think the smaller keyboard on the phone makes texting labor intensive. I would like to upgrade to the Curve model when my current contract is up for renewal.

When I first got this phone, I was surprised to learn that I needed to purchase several applications to be able to view simple email messages. I thought it would work out of the box.

Well upon someone stepping on my purse and breaking my PDA screen. i had to get a new phone. I hadnt purchased a new phone in a long time because i liked my pda so much. mostly because of the full qwerty key board. So at tmobile i was kind of forced into the blackerry pearl. the girl promised i would love it. not so much. i mean it an ok phone. it doesnt seem very intuitive. the text folder display is stupid. it shows all messages (sent and received) in one folder. and the phone makes you jump through all kinds of hoops just to see the time someone called. also, my phone didnt come with a video option. i guess i have to go to tmobiles website and download some upgrade. overall, i am not thrilled with this phone but i know a lot of people are so maybe its just me. i just felt that my Dash was more intuitive and had more options. one thing i can say is that tmoblies customer service is always great and if i have any questions they always help me in a friendly manner.

My blackberry pearl is the best phone I have had in the entire ten years I have owned a cell phone. It allows me to stay up to date, stay in communication with everyone and everything, and stay organized and focused. I am able to receive my emails, texts, pictures and phone call in one place. I don't have to worry about staying near my computer when awaiting an important email, and I don't have to stay connected to a palm pilot to stay in the know with my calendar. I received this phone for mothers day last year, so going on a year with the same phone, and that's a record for me. I used to switch phones two to three times a year, but since getting this phone, I have no desire to change phones. I have not had any issues with the software,which you do have to update from time to time. It's as simple as plugging it into the computer and downloaded the software. Not hard to do at all. I liked this phone a lot at the beginning. It was quick and flexible and the SureType was a lot more usable than the the T9En of my old phone. The phone itself has excellent reception which comes in handy when in the woods. Also, it stands up to wear pretty well. Mind you I kept it reasonably protected (ziplock bag in my clothing bag), but it made it my whole thru-hike on the appalachian trail. Impressive considering I didn't buy it for durability. It was submitted to a lot of heat, moisture and cold. The moisture had the biggest impact as my track ball light went out but has come back dim. All in all I love this phone as a phone. There are however a few cons. If you're a big texter, the SureType is certainly nice, however it doesn't descriminate between typos and words when adding them to your dictionary. I might suggest that RIM change it to wait until the text is sent before adding words to the dictionary. This can be a pain because if you don't regularly clean out your personal dictionary,...

I have had the Blackberry Pearl 8130 for two months now and love it. It's great for everyone from a busy executive to a student. The camera takes fantastic pictures. There are lots of free applications and a ton of options which you can purchase from your provider for a reasonable price. It takes a little while to get used to texting on this if you are used to T9 but the phone is great at detecting what you are trying to spell.

There isn't a whole lot of memory on the phone though, so if you plan to store a lot of music or photos you should consider purchasing an SD card. Compatible cards come in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB and sell for under $20. There also aren't a lot of ringtones to pick from. The ones that come with the phone are kind of lame, but again, you can purchase a plethora from your provier for a reasonable amount.

Overall, this is an easy to use, fast smart phone and I recommend it to anyone who wants to be connected to the web, have GPS capability and other great features.
