I loved this iron until the cord failed. It may be my fault from wrapping the cord around the base, but isn't that what you are supposed to do? Now, less than a year after buying the iron, I need a new one!

Black & Decker Model D2020 Iron.

It's a throw away product and unless you expect it to be a reliable appliance that lasts a reasonable length of time, don't buy it. Ours lasted approximately 2 years. It worked fine until one day it overheated when plugged into a power outlet, spit out a lot of brown fluid, and died. The cleaning feature was always used, but apparently didn't keep it clean inside. I normally fix most things that fail or need repair, but this product doesn't appear to be repairable. It's assembled with 2 tamper proof screws which are easily defeated, but complete disassembly to the failed component doesn't appear to be possible.

This Black and Decker iron is the absolute best iron ever. My daughter and I both iron everything and both love it. The settings on the iron cover every type of material. It is very durable yet light in weight. We have worn ours out from so much use after several years of use and will replace with the same produt. Would highly reccommend to anyone....

I like the features - cord retraction, choice of steam, ease of filling, choice of extra blast of steam or water, multiple settings, & speed of heating....

Recently my mother has bought this specific type of iron that was very easy to use. I have 3 school age kids and I have to iron 15 uniforms every week (they lied when they said uniform shirts are wrinkle free) in addition to my husband's shirts and my own work clothes. It usually takes me 3 to 4 hours to do the weekly ironing and this iron makes it much easier. It is light enough but I do not need to press too hard to achieve the desired results. If I could improve on thing, I will increase the size of the tank, as I find myself refilling a bit too often, more often than with my previous iron. Besides that I really like this iron

I had a digital Black and Decker Iron--I can't say for sure it was the same model number. But it looks just like it. IT quit on me in less than a year. I was excited about it at first. Was easy to use, and super hot. But the "digital" part died and you could not read the temperature and it did not heat up anymore. When I tried to see where or how to fix it, there is no Black and Decker repair nearby anymore and when I called, they said it is owned by a different company now! I had to have the receipt to mail it back, but I lost it, so I was out of luck! Hope you have better luck than me, but I will never buy another digital one again.....:(...

I am very happy with my B&D iron. I use it at least once a week and am happy with it. It is very lightweight and easy to use. I am not fond of ironing, but this iron helps me get the job done well and quickly, too.

Highly recommend this Black and Decker Iron. Very im"press"ive.

I use a Black and Decker Iron for the general laundry, and very often when quilting. It is easy to fill with water for steam, steams evenly without spurts, and easy to see how much water remains in the resourvior.

My Black and Decker is light weight and easy to use, heats quickly, sprays well when I want a spray, and cuts down on the time I spend ironing.

My quilting and sewing projects are when I really appreciate the convenience and economy of my Black and Decker. When I finish pressing a part for the quilt, and walk away to the sewing machine the iron goes into sleep mode to save money on heating. When I pick up the iron it regains its temperature very quickly and is ready to press the pieces for another quilt block.

With my new job came new responsibilities, and a work environment where even my male coworkers showed up in crisply pressed shirts and pants. I have resisted ironing all my life, but I have grown tired of not having nicely pressed outfits, so after a disastrous encounter with a fifteen year old iron, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a new one. I read positive reviews of the D2030 by Black & Decker on Consumer Reports, but only found the B&D D2020 at Target, so I bought it instead.

About the Black & Decker D2020
The D2020 is a "Digital Advantage" model iron from Black & Decker. It has a backlit digital display that you set each time you iron. It beeps when the iron has heated up to that setting. The iron has a spray and steam button, and a stainless steal soleplace. The look of the iron is very sleek, with a frosted translucent water tank so you can see the water level in the iron.
