My cousin's husband works for Black & Decker. I knew I was getting something B & D for my wedding present. I was right. It was the Black & Decker Flavor Scenter handy steamer and rice cooker. I used that for almost every meal that I cooked for nine long years, until all the water started coming out of the bottom all over the counter. I was devastated when he died. How could I cook vegetables, meat, seafood, and rice in a healthy manner anymore? There is no other way to cook spinach or turnip greens!

I went on a hard target search of any store that sold small appliances in the city of Colorado Springs. Yes, I found the exact same one that I got for my wedding! Bliss!

This is a large-capacity food steamer and rice cooker. It has five pieces: The bottom holds the water and has the heating element in it, there is a plastic reservoir piece on top of that which collects the residual moisture left from the steaming. Use it all the time - cleans up fast - sometimes use it more than once for one meal! Both me and my boyfriend LOVE it. It has the most common veggies written on the side with recommended water level and times for steaming so that you never have to get out an instruction book - plus it adds tips for what herbs to use if you want to kick it up a notch!

have had my Black & Decker steamer/rice cooker for a couple of months now. Got it as a replacement for my old one that I gave to my college daughter, We have used this more than we ever used our other one. Not only is it great for making rice, I love that I can steam veggies at the same time and have a meal ready in less than 30 min.

I enjoyed the black and decker steamer it was my very first, I discovered that this model had many great things you do with it besides steam veggies and make rice ! you can also make cous-cous and all sorts of other side or main dishes in it and the timer on the side was most wonderfull!...

I went to my friends house for dinner and saw the Black & Decker Handy Steamer & Rice Cooker in use on the kitchen counter. I don't know what planet I have been living on, but I had never seen an electric steamer until just then! I always pictured the metal steaming pots you use on the stove. Anyways, I was totally amazed at what it could do so I went out and bought one that very same weekend.

I don't know what I would do without my Black & Decker Handy Steamer now that I have been using it for so long. I love that it is easy to use - just add water to the water tray and turn it on! It is also a very healthy way to cook your vegetables. It can also be used as a rice cooker, but I am old-fashioned I guess because I like to make my rice on the stove.

Even if you can't or don't like to cook, you can use this steamer. Just be careful when removing the lid to the steamer after steaming; I have burned my hands from not removing the lid quickly enough.
