peach512 says "A total waste of money!" about Black & Decker Belgian Waffle Maker

I had wanted a Belgian Waffle maker for some time. When we travel, we like to stay at Residence Inn properties, and I get to have wonderful Belgian waffles - MMM. And they always come out so perfect! Well, I asked for one a couple years back for Christmas, and yes, it was under the tree. I was so excited. And when I tried to use it ,the batter kept sticking to the grids. So, that was a total waste of money. And let me tell you, these things are far from inexpensive. We researched all the consumer reports, and found a couple that were highly rated. Earlier this year, I found a Black and Decker Belgian Waffle maker (rated right up there) for a great sale price, and I figured "What the heck. It is Black and Decker after all. Everything I have ever put in my kitchen from Black and Decker has surpassed my expectations. So, off to the store I went with my sale ad in hand. I could not wait to make waffles. There was a very modest recipe book that came with it, so I decided to be creative. And...
...

The Black and Decker Belgian Waffle Maker is a great addition to my kitchen. My family loves breakfast. We eat breakfast for any meal. On the weekends when my family are all home we love to make a big breakfast. One of the must haves is belgian waffles. After we quickly stir up the batter we take out our Black and Decker belgian waffle maker and plug it in to heat up. It doesn't take long and it is hot and ready to go. While the kids are setting the table and pouring the juice the waffle maker is baking waffles. It only takes three minutes and there it is. The first golden brown, light and fluffy waffle. It easily comes out of the machine and while it is being buttered and readied to eat another one is baking. Each waffle comes out so nice;just the right size and ready to eat. They are also very versatile. We also use our Black and Decker waffle maker to make waffles that we top with beef stew or we cut them up and build individual strawberry shortcakes with them. ...
...

Created4HisGlory says "Better than some, but not the best." about Black & Decker Belgian Waffle Maker

This Black and Decker Belgian Waffle Maker is a well used item in my kitchen! It makes two waffles. There is a display light that comes on red when you plug it in and a green light that comes on when it's preheated. After you put the batter in the red light comes on and when the waffles are done the green light comes on. I've only had to grease it twice. Occasionally by the time the green light comes on the waffles are a little over done. It's easy to put a little too much batter in, then it leaks out the back and is very hard to clean because it gets in the cord area. It doesn't help that since it's in the back many times I don't realize that I've been overfilling till I've already made a large mess in the back. Sometimes it cooks better than others. It has a tendancy to not brown as much in the middle back. I love this waffle maker because I love making waffles, but the more I'm writing about it the more I realize I have a lot of negative things to say about it.
...

A Black & Decker® waffle maker makes it easy deciding what to make for breakfast. We all love freshly baked up fluffy, hot waffles! All one has to do is mix up the batter, and, the Belgian Waffle Maker bakes thick, fluffy Belgian waffles in minutes! Given that in the morning everyone has to eat and run in a hurry, a Black & Decker® waffle maker certainly help it "hit the spot" fast!

Nice features of this device include non-stick cooking surfaces; chrome exterior - easy to wipe clean; in addition, it cuts waffle into 4 segments so you can put different toppings on each segment and they don't run together! There is also a ready light signals when preheating and when waffle is done so you don't have to watch it like a hawk, and cool touch handles - not need to look for potholders that always run away!
...
