I am very disappointed with this vacuum. I was sold by the "pet hair eraser" idea as I have a cat and a dog who both shed a lot. I will say that this vacuum worked great at first... but it only lasted for about 6 uses. Now it doesn't have any suction at all and it when I try to use it the dust in my house just gets distributed into the air. I have taken it completely apart, cleaned it out, and put it back together, and it still doesn't suck at all. Does any company make a vacuum that really lasts??
...

I can't tell you how much I love this vacuum and how great it works. I have two pugs and if you aren't familiar with the breed - those suckers shed. A LOT. So, needless to say, vacuum cleaners are very important in our house and I have gone through quite a few finding one that will pick up pug fur and will last.

This vacuum cleaner is lightweight and very maneuverable. One word of warning - because it is so light and maneuverable that means it does tip over easier than other vacuums I have had.

As far as the attachments go, pretty standard stuff with the exception of the pet hair magnet which is the single best thing I have found for getting fur out of furniture and the car. The canister is very easy to empty but is a nasty reminder about all of the dirt that settles in the carpet every day. Good thing the Bissel takes care of sucking it up!...

I read many reviews and decided on this vacuum after reading everything about it. Please do NOT waste your money! i have 3 pets.......1 Lab, 1 English Mastiff and a cat plus 2 boys ages 12 and 15. I vacuum every day! This vacuum lasted 5 months. First the wheel adjustment broke, then the seal on the hose. And I absolutely HATE the canister! When you need to empty it alot falls out onto the vacuum or the floor. Its quite messy. You will be very disappointed with this product as I am. I am now looking for another vacuum.
...

Our living room couches were COVERED with cat hair from our long haired calico. I'm sure our carpet was too, but by the grace of god it was brown and we couldn't tell.

Our last vacuuum was the Hoover Dyson rip off. I went to turn it on one day and nothing happened. I disected and rebuilt it to no avail. I went to the store and prchased the Bissell the same day. The Bissell was easy to put together and is much easier to manuver than our old Hoover. Also, I had to fight with the hoover dust cup to get it to open, the smallest speck of dirt could inhibit the hinge from opening. This does not seem to be true of the bissell. The hoover was so back heavy and the hose was so short hat when I did attempt to vacuumn the couch the whole vacuum would topple over backwards, usually landing painfully on my bare foot. Not a problem for this bissell.

The Pet Hair Eraser seems to be the plethora of silicone parts that rip the hair off the furniture and floor. I was dubious that this...
...

The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is amazing! My carpet looks completely different. After the first time I used it, the carpet looked like it had been steam cleaned! There are a lot of attachments good for the couch and places where your pet likes to sit. I was honestly grossed out when I saw how much dirt and hair my carpet had after the first trial run of the vacuum.
...

mysticalpippin says "THE BEST VACUUM IN IT'S PRICE RANGE" about Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum

I did a ton of research on my first vacuum purchase in over 25 years. I'm a bit of a bargain hunter freak so I took my time, read up on vacuums, the mechanics of them..etc I went to countless sites, read lots of reviews & product descriptions. I needed specific features and had a price limit in mind. I almost broke that limit when I started reading all these great things about the really expensive models $300 and up. And someday.....I'll have enough $ to not care how much I should spend on any appliance, but I'm not there yet!

I settled on the 'Bissel 3920 Pet Hair Eraser Dual Cyclonic Upright'. It had all the features I needed; powerful turbo suction, attachments for stairs & upholstery, long cord, etc. I purchased it online at Walmart.com for a good sale price $138. But, in fact it got better due to a delivery mistake. I had requested the site to store delivery but it never arrived so they sent it to me for free to my home & I only had to pay $122 instead. But, I would...
...

I have two pets, a dog and a cart, who shed so much that sometimes I feel like I am living, eating, and breathing pet furr! It is taking over my entire house! Recently, I purchased the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum, and I must say that it does just that, erases pet hair. I vacummed the floor in my bedroom twice and could not believe how much pet hair it pulled up each time. I also used the brush attachment to vacuum my couch and living room chairs. The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum made me just want to keep vacuuming. I should point out, however, that is is a little bit heavy, so long periods of vacuuming are really not possible if you have a hard time holding it up, and it makes it less easy to manuever than I would like. Also, it is not self-propelled, but that was a not a major problem. The bucket is extremely easy to clean (just dump it out, and voila!). I have not needed to change the filter, but it looks easy to change as well. The attachments are fantastic,...
...

I bought the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum because my old hand-me-down vacuum failed. I vacuumed over carpet that I had already vacuumed with the old machine and was shocked at how much more dog hair the Bissell picked up. All this time, I thought my vacuum was doing the job, but I was wrong. The Pet Hair Eraser does a great job of getting the dog hair up and out of the carpet.

Bagless is nice because you don't have to remember to buy them. The canister is easy to remove and replace and all the parts can be washed if they get too dusty. Emptying the canister can sometimes be messy, but is worth the benifits of a bagless vacuum.

The Pet Hair Eraser does a good job for the price, but isn't quite heavy duty enough for my house. We have two full grown Golden Retreiver's, so we have above the average amount of hair in our house. The ball-berrings on the brush burned out once because pet hair had gotten in. I thought this was a little ironic considering it is call the "Pet...
...

We bought the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vaccuum because we have a dog and we wanted something that would vaccuum well and help get rid of the hair. Well, it worked okay at first, but after a few months it started picking up less and less from the carpet. It eventually began looking like we hadn't vaccuumed at all! Then, one day (after owning it for about a year and a half) while in the middle of vaccuuming it started sputtering and making strange sounds. Then it began smoking and I quickly turned it off and unplugged the cord. But it was too late - the damage was done and the vaccuum cleaner was dead. My apartment smelled awful for a couple of hours afterward too - even after opening all of the windows and turning the fans on. It wasn't an incredibly expensive machine but it should have lasted at least longer than a year and a half. I'm so dissappointed in this product. Please don't waste your money on this vaccuum.
...

"Let me start by saying I have bought 2 Kenmore cannisters in the last 25 years and thought they were the best until now. I didn't want to invest 300$ at this time and I wanted something to handle the mass hair from my dog. The reviews I read raved about this unit. They did not come close to how great this unit is. Not only did it pick up dog hair I had no idea was in the carpet, it picked up dirt, borax powder, that carpet powder that has been sprinkled over the years. I vacummed a spot for five minutes, emptied the cannister, and went over the same spot again and it still sucked things out of the carpet I never saw. I thought I needed to clean my beige carpet, it was getting pretty dirty from traffic, it has pulled out so much dirt from the fibers I probably only need to clean in spots. I filled a plastic grocery bag with 1/2 hair and 1/2 dirt in one good vacuuming of my small duplex, and I vacummed at least three times a week with my kenmore. THIS PRODUCT IS AWESOME !!!!! MIGHT HAVE...
...

I absolutely LOVE my Bissel Pet Hair Eraser vacuum. I have two dogs, one being a golden retriever who sheds like theres no tomorrow, and it is amazing how good my house looks after using this vacuum. Its like I sold my two dogs because you would never know they were there. (Then they start playing and I have to Vacuum again.) Its so easy to Empty and clean all the filters. I Love the attatchment that helps me vacuum my bed and furniture, it doesnt matter how much hair is there to begin with because it all gets sucked up no problem as long as you keep your filters clean thats the key. I would reccommend this product to anyone with or without animals but especially with!!
...

We purchased the Bissell Pet Hair Vacuum Eraser after wearing out three other vacuum cleaners due to heavy use. We have one long-haired golden retriever and a long-haired cat who leave clumps of hair on the carpet when they are shedding their winter coats. The Bissell picks up hair very thoroughly, but the dirt cup is not very big and it makes a mess when it's time to empty it. The hair wraps around the filter and when you pull the cup down, the dirt falls all around and I have to reach up around the filter and pull the hair out (which causes more dirt to fall out). I have vacuum back over the spot where I emptied the cup at and then I have to wipe the vacuum down every time... If it weren't so great at picking up the hair, I would have taken it back to the store. I love the two attachments for picking up hair from furniture and stairs.
...

There are a lot of mixed reviews on this vaccum, and after owning it for a couple of years, I can see both sides. Let me start with the positives:

1) It really works. If you own cats or dogs, you know what a pain it can be to get rid of all of the fur they leave behind. This vaccum is very adept at picking up all of the fur that my previous vaccum left behind. It actually worked so well that my brother and sister-in-law bought one as well!

2) The included tools help you get the job finished! I have a friend who is allergic to cats, and after using this vaccum, he came over while they were locked in my bedroom and had no issues. He actually thought that I had gotten rid of the cats because the vaccum picked up all of the fur!

3) It's bagless, which means if you accidently suck something up you need, like a stray lego, or one of your kid's (or pet's) toys, it's easy to find without getting too gross, and the clear design of the hose and canister help to identify clogs before...
...

Finally a vaccuum for pet hair! The Bissell pet hair vac.

I was excited to get the vaccuum especially designed for pet hair pick-up, as I have 2 dogs inside the house with lots of shedding. The vaccuum does as it claims as far as picking up pet hair, on carpet and hard floors. There is a special attachment for furniture also, though I have not tried it. The attachments work great (crevice tool, etc.)

Problems include : very hard to clean-if you take the solid filter out of the canister for cleaning, dust falls everywhere. The vaccuum is also a little heavy.
...
