The Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum has great suction power. It has always picked up everything I needed it to. It has even ripped up my phone cord charger when I accidentally ran over it. All the attachments work great. I have vacuumed my blinds, baseboards, carpets, rugs, and especially the highchair with it. My son loves to eat crackers so there are always crackers everywhere! This vaccum picks up every speck of food. There is a carpet height adjustment knob, but I still find it very hard to push. Maybe its the fact that I am pregnant and have a one year old at home. That's tiring enough! Every Christmas our family gets a real Christmas tree and this vacuum has always picked up all the pine needles great. This is a bagless vacuum so it is very easy to dump all the trash when it gets full. I feel like this vacuum still has many good years in it. A good product for the price. It is about a mid price range so it is affordable and still a good buy for the money.
...

This is the worst vacuum as far as stairs and getting on your hands and knees to get under furniture. It falls on me constantly because I use the hose attachements often. As long as you just use it as an uprite, you might be okay. When I'm cleaning, I have to be aware of my placement to the vacuum and I have to always check to make sure that the hose hasn't fallen from the clip or else it will fall on me, my furniture or pets. It's the worst. I contacted Bissell and they basically told me it was my problem not the design.
...

SuperMum says "WTF it doesn't suck!" about Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum

I bought this vacuum cleaner about 10 months ago as a replacement to one I had had for about 10 years. Four months ago, the brush option on the front of the vacuum stopped working. I cleaned the brush thinking maybe there was some impediment (my daughter has really long hair). Sure enough there was a great deal of human hair wrapped around the brush. Afterwards the brush started to work again. BUT then I noticed there was no suction. I have cleaned everything I have access to and it still doesn't have any suction except via the attachments. So the only way I can use the vacuum is with the hose and the attachments.

I'm very angy and will NEVER buy another Bissell product. EVER!
...

I wouldn't have purchased the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum if I read a review like I'm about to write. If you have never used a canister vacuum before, you may not want to.

With three young kids and one furry dog, I vacuum almost every day. And once I vacuum all the many messes that occur on my carpets and floors, I'm grateful that the mess is gone and that job is done. But with the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum the mess isn't really gone and your chore isn't really finished.

You see, every crumb, dirt, dog and human hair, dust and bits of God only knows what must be emptied by you. Make no mistake about this my fellow neat freaks-this is a very dirty job! Even when I make sure that the canaster isn't filled, all of this really dirty, gross collection that you have already delt with gets jammed up in the canister. And guess how you get it out? Well I've tried shaking the heck out of the canister-but that doesn't fully do the trick. So the only other method is...
...

Recently we purchased a Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum cleaner. It's wonderful! All the attachments, the multi functions, and best of all the suction! After vacuuming our area rug in the living room, I was embarrassed and horrified by the amount of dust a dirt left behind by our outher vacuum--who shall remain nameless!
...

it is truly the definition of IRONIC that Bissell chose to name this elephant of a filth producing vaccum "Healthy Home". My utter disappointment and disgust for this subpar product is so great that I personally spoke with Mr. Bissell's secretary in an attempt (in vein) to get on his calendar in order to personally deliver this horrific product back to him.

Pros: Ummmm, let's see . . . I can honestly say it does suck stuff up into it quite well.

Cons:

1) It's unbelievably FILTHY! Yes, it may indeed suck things up into quite well, and even boasts a hepa filtration system . . . .but what Bissell conveniently fails to mention or show in it's commercials is the disgusting process of emptying the canister. WARNING: If you have already made the unfortunate decision to purchase this vaccum, DO NOT EMPTY THE CANISTER INSIDE OF YOUR HOME! You will need: To be outdoors; Have a plastic glove(s); A dust mask; A stick or some other long instrument; and every few changes ....
...

I bought this vacuum a few months ago. It work great the firts time I used it and then it went downhill from there. The pet hair/ upholstry tool broke and no longer spins. It is needs filter needs to be empty after almost ever room I vacuum. Cleaning the filter is also very messy especially when it clogs. If you decided to buy the vacuum. I suggest empty the filter outside becasue dirt goes everywhere. I would suggest taking a shower before hand because the dirt will also be all over you in the process.
...

frequentlyvacuums says "get a kenmore canister for hardwoods and quality." about Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum

i vacuum a lot. you name a vacuum and i have probably had it, from Dyson to Hoover. the Dyson works great on carpet. the Bissell healthy home worked great on the hardwoods for a couple of months but after that i had many problems with it. the canister broke, the hose broke, the power button is stuck on but that is much better than when it won't turn on at all and the only way to use it is to hold the button down the whole time. finally, the handle screws into the main unit. the vacuum is heavy and with all the push/pull motion the screw loosens often. there are only so many times you can retighten a screw before it strips. if you have carpet i think you should invest in a dyson (Dyson doesn't work great on hardwood), but if you have mostly bare floor, pets and family a kenmore canister vacuum is beyond beneficial. it is inexpensive, high quality and easy to use. i have had mine for over 10 years with no problems and i always revert back to it. i thought if i bought an expensive...
...

linince says "Save your money! Don't buy the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum. " about Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum

I bought the Bissell Healthy Home vacuum two years ago. I got what I thought was a good price thru Best Buy. I also bought their extended 4yr warranty and spent a total of $257.00. Thank goodness I bought the warranty because it has been repaired 4 times in 2 years! My husband thinks I have anger issues towards this vacuum because it breaks so much. Let me just say, I'm a housewife and use it about once per week for a three person family and 2 small pets. Not heavy duty use in my opinion.

At first, I really loved our Bissell vacuum. But then the roller brush burned out, even though I kept it as clean of hair as I could. Then the plastic canister started coming apart. Right now as I type, our vacuum is at the repair shop and they want to charge me $100 to replace the cracked cyclone and dirt bin assembly. So I'm stuck. Do I invest another $100 in this vacuum or cut my losses and purchase a new one?

Should I mention how inconvenient it is to have a family and pets and have the vacuum at...
...

I own this vacuum and though it picks up everything OK, it smells. I have a dog and pick up a lot of dog hair and the next time I use the vacuum, all I smell is dirty dog hair. I've changed the filter but those darn things are very expensive.

It's also quite heavy. Which that doesn't bother me. It give me a good work out but it might bother some.

It's also a little top heavy. Always tipping over.

It also releases warm air and here in CA, I don't need anymore of that.

We got this vacumm as a replacement for a Bissell that finally deciding to give up the ghost. I got a pretty good price for it... Or so I thought. The price was around $200 and I thought I was getting a bargain. That is until I started using it. We have 3 pets including 2 cats and a dog that all shed year round. The vacumm handled the hair pretty well at first, but then it stopped sucking. Probably a few months after we bought it. We figured it would cost too much to take it in to have it repaired so we took it apart ourselves and found a huge clog in the inside of the vacumm. After a few hours of working with it, we finally were successful at removing the clog.

Things, sound great right? Wrong. This vacumm is very touchy when it comes to the "scrubber" motion it has. It has a special feature where it combs through the carpet to get stubborn pet hair. It likes to stop scrubbing often and you have to remove the canister and replace it every time you vacumm and sometimes...
...

We had bought the "home health" after my husband's deployment overseas, to replace and old worn out bissell. I thought It would be a really nice item to help me clean up after our children and pet.

However, after buying we found out about the dual button, (power and brush) on the handle, which were TOO easy to hit while pushing the stiff vac around. Now, on top of paying almost $250 the brush won't turn on for more then 30sec.

I have followed the trouble shooting guide step by step all the way through, nothing seems to work. I guess we'll see what the bissell company has to say now that i've contacted them. I would tell anyone looking at buying this vac, to look else where, for something called "healthy home" it gave me a HUGE head ache.
...

I always like to start out with the positives of a product and the Bissell Healthy Home definately has quite a few. I researched for three months before buying a vacuum and I think it paid off. This vacuum was more expensive than I was planning on at $260 but I was able to find a $100 mail in rebate online which sealed the deal for me. I have two children and two cats so we need to vacuum OFTEN. I have had the Bissell for three years now and have never had a problem. It picks up cat hair like a dream and its hose scrub brish attachment gets everything off my furniture and drapes. It even is worry free when I accidentally pick up the boys little army men, pennies, or paperclips. Never broken or stalled because of them and it has such good suction that it will pick up the magnetix marbles. But it does have flawes... I REALLY under estimated how heavy it is. I have a bad back and it is always screaming at me after vacuuming. I have an upstairs and downstairs and I'm...
...

I bought a Healthy Home Bissell less than a year ago. Then after a few months the vaccum wouldn't turn on -- had to giggle it to get it to start. The manufacturer sent me a call tag and I had to mail it back to them and they would mail me a new one. This whole process took about 6-8 weeks without a vaccum. Which meant I had to do it the old fashion way by sweeping ---- NOT FUN!!! Now the second vaccum is doing the same thing and it been less than a year since I bought the original one. I spent over $300 for a product that the company does not stand behind their product. I really want my money back but they won't do that. I'd understand if it was 10 years old but it is less than a year since the purchase of the product. NO I have to take it to a warranty dealer. (I don't know why they didn't do that the first time.) I AM VERY UNHAPPY with this product and will NEVER recommend a Bissell product to anyone....
