I have an electric espresso maker, but I sitll prefer this one. Growing up, it was the only option in the house. Part of it is nostalgia- this is how I learned to make coffee and I still remember asking to make it for my parents at eight years old. The simplicity and ease of making amazing coffee for a low price make this is the best option. Whenever I find one at a thrift store, I buy it to give as a gift....

For simplicity's sake, this is a great espresso maker. I've had mine for 6 months and love it. I prefer making my own lattes, but am so tired of buying little electical appliances for everything that I opted for this little stove-top gadet, and I am very pleased.

The only drawback is that the resulting espresso is usually a bit weaker than that made on electrical models, but I've found as long as I use a good quality dark roast coffee then I have a pleasing result.

This, along with my bodum stovetop milk frother, coffee syrups, and biscotti, I can relax at home with a nice flavorful latte made to my liking!
...

I bought this espresso maker about a year ago. I didn't actually use it until about two months ago, when I started using it daily to make coffee for myself (since I'm the only one in my family to drink coffee regularly).

It worked great until one time when I finished using it and went to unscrew it so that I could clean it. The handle snapped right off! I would think that I could get more than two month's use out of something this expensive. :(
...

How did I live before my Bialetti?! I love this thing! It's simple, easy to use, and fast. The replacement gaskets are easy to find and cheap. I've had mine for over a year and only had to replace the seal/gasket once. I bought 3 seals at my local grocery for about a dollar. The rest of the pot is stainless steel, and will last forever. It's got a lifetime warranty, too....
