I am a Tailoring and Design Artist and I use a Bernina Sewing Machine, which I call my business partner. This machine is sturdy enough to handle heavy fabrics like denim and upholstery fabrics and gentle enough to accommodate the finest of fabrics. This is a great machine for people who love to sew. Being a seasoned seamstress it's important to have a sewing machine that performs accurately on a variety of projects. I use my Bernina to make window treatments for my customers, and I get great stitches. When I design a unique prom dress or formal outfit for a client neat seams are key to the success of the finished garment. I can make a few adjustments and it accommodates fine fabrics. I do a lot of Mens' slacks and shirts and I get great top-stitching and buttonholes. I also teach sewing classes and I highly recommen the Bernina to clients who are serious about sewing on a regular basis.

My Bernina 1630 is fantastic. It never breaks down and is easy to operate. I take it in for servicing every few years and that's all it needs. I have had this machine for sixteen years, but I don't feel that it is outdated. Of course, compared to the newer Bernina machines, it is limited in its capabilities, but it sews so well that it is still a pleasure to use.

I have been sewing with My Bernia 1630 for years now and it still sews like a dream. The features and attachments seem to be limitless and they continue to provide more options yearly. It runs smoothly & easily--no jerking. I don't know if I could pick a favorite feature, but if I had to the flashing bobbin light to warn of impending empty bobbin status is one of them that would top my list. I also like the options of 1) choosing a speed in sewing: slow, medium or fast) and 2) the needle up or down position when finishing sewing is nice to have. This is the first computerized machine I had ever used, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I have been so satisfied I have not gone looking for another option....

This is a fabulous sewing machine. It sews in 16 directions, has a 9 mm wide stitch and does everything well. I love my 1630. It is NOT an embroidery machine, but if you want a machine for sewing, this is the gold standard....

I upgraded my old Bernina for the Bernina 1630. I has been quite awhile since I wanted a new sewing machine and I finally decided it was now or never. My Bernina dealer is very helpful, they take trade ins and give a good price for your old machine. This Bernina has lots of features that my old machine did not have. I may not use all of them, but they are there if I need them. Sewing on this Bernina is a dream and if it performs like my previous Bernina sewing machines, I won't have many problems with it. And if I do, the Bernina dealer has always done repairs like cleaning or minor adjustments for free. They always give you free lessons on the new machine (or used) that you buy, so you know how to use the machine properly. I am very happy with my Bernina....

The Bernina machine has everything you could ever want. I sew and have used it for almost every type of material. The attachments are many and even some can be used for more than one job. The machine itself is streamline. Where you purchase your machine will sell items needed, repair if needed, will keep you updated on new items available and offers free lessons so your are comfortable with each aspect of the machine. It will make your sewing experience a real joy. I love it.
