As soon as I saw this product I knew I wanted to buy it. I have not seen anything else on the market that has something under the mattress to alert the parents if the baby stops breathing. This gave my husband and me peace of mind knowing our daughter was safely sleeping in her crib. The ticking sound can be annoying to listen to, and the alarm can go off if the baby rolls off the pad-although the pad is rather large. The price was very reasonable and the Bebe Sounds Monitor worked in our 2000 sq. foot house. I tried to use it outside but didn't get reception at all. I looked into other monitors, but none offered the peace of mind that came with knowing your baby is breathing! It also has the beneft of coming with two receivers!! So you can keep them in different rooms of the house and still hear the baby when he/she wakes up from naptime! Overall this monitor is a very good value and well worth the money
...

After having experience the awful occurance of SIDS in a family member there was no way I was ever going to sleep well with a baby in my house...that is until I discovered the Angel Monitor. I would buy 10 of these if that is what it took to monitor my children. The peace of mind that comes with knowing that your child is breathing while they are sleeping is so incredibly priceless and worth every penny! I am on my 2nd baby using the Angel Monitor now and it works as well as it did the day we brought it home. We have only ever had 2-3 false alarms total and who knows if they would have turned out to be more than that had we not gone in to check on them. I love this product and recommend it to EVERY single friend that i have when they have a new baby in the house. For anyone considering buying this but not wanting to spend the money check your local baby consignment stores as I have heard people finding great deals there. If no luck, spend the money and you will never regret...
...

When we found out we were pregnant I was excited but scared. You hear all this stuff about SIDS and you worry that something will happen to your child. I saw an advertisement in a magazine for this monitor and went to check it out. After reading the box we added it to our registry. I always thought I would stay up all night watching my child breath but with this monitor on I was able to go to sleep with some sense of peace. When there is no movement for a set amount of time then the monitor will go off. It is not a loud beep but enough to wake you up. You can change the sensitivity of the sensor pad if needed. With our first child it did go off some but mostly because he would roll too far down the crib. We have not had that problem with our new baby. One negative is if you forget to turn the monitor/alarm off and you pick your baby up out of the crib it will go off. I like this monitor because you can also use it without the sensor pad. We did this once our son...
...

This monitor was worth every penny. We bought it when my daughter was a newborn and I was paranoid about something happening to her at night.

We were concerned that it would set off false alarms and wake us all up, but that literally never happened once in the first 6 months. It seems to be very sensitive to even the subtle movement of a newborn breathing. It was very easy to set up right out of the box (Iand I am not mechanically inclined by any means.) You can set it to a setting in which you hear a little click every time the baby breathes just ot reassure yourself that it's working properly, and then set it to silent, at whicih point it will beep only if it doesn't detect movement.

By the same token, any time I forgot about the monitor and took her out of the crib without turning it off, it prompty beeped at me, which further reassured me that it was reliable.

You DO need a solid surface to make it work - I tried it in the pack-n-play and it was a no-go.

I am reviewing the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor. I bought this when I was pregnant with my son, and I was terrified of S.I.D.S. like most first-time parents. I used the sensor pad in a bassinet and in a crib. It worked fine in the bassinet. It worked great, but if you don't turn off the sensor right after picking up the baby, you're apt to get all the way downstairs only to have to run upstairs to a screaming alarm. Also, irritating if the baby has already fallen back asleep, arghhhh! But if you are really concerned about S.I.D.S. then this is piece of mind for you and probably worth it.You have to purchase a piece of board to use under the crib mattress to stabilize it. People have commented too, that if you use that sensor in a crib than the baby can wriggle off it. If you're not too concerned, the sensor pad may be overkill. Fortunately, you can just use the sound monitor and it works fantastically.
...

I had a rough pregnancy and was terrified all the time that I was going to lose my son, once he was here I was bound and determined to ensure he stayed here! I found this monitor at a BRU and bought it. I thought how novel. I know someone that lost a baby to SIDs and I was terrified, I bought the Bebe sounds angel care monitor thinking I was buying peace of mind. It was more expensive than a traditional monitor but worth every penny in my mind, until we got it home. The first thing I noticed was that the ceiling fan in my son's room would generate enough vibration to keep the alarm from sounding (might seem OK to you, however recent studies have suggested that kids with fans in their room are less likely to die from SIDS), however I was able to find a compromise and keep the fan on low. We brought my son home from the hospital and after a tough labor and a HUGE baby I laid him in his crib and crawled in to my bed for a little afternoon nap and about 5 minutes after laying down the alarm...
...

We have used it with the movement sensor for my son's first year and without the movement sensor for the last 6 months. (My son is now 18 months old.) We love this monitor for several reasons.

1. The monitor with movement sensor can be used in a basinet, portable crib, or a regular crib. Just make sure you put a plywood board under the sensor pad if the bottom of the basinet or crib is soft or just a spring base. This helps prevent false alarms. The sensor also packs easily in a suitcase for travel.

2. The monitor has a good range and is clear. We have a large house and yard. This monitor works at the complete opposite end of the house and throughout our yard.

3. Our son was a preemie and this monitor gave us the piece of mind to sleep at night, especially with the fear of SIDS. It truly detects movement and not just weight. (We tested it with a large dictionary and the sensor went off after a few seconds.) It picks up your child's movement from breathing even in the sounded state of sleep....
...

I bought this monitor with my second child. I was always so weary whenever I tucked my first into bed because I was so nervous something might happen. So for my second child I decided to spend a little more money and but the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor. It had great reviews and the price wasn't too bad. The monitor has a flat pad that you put under the mattress that detects movement. If there is no movement for more than 20 seconds an alarm sounds. I rarely had problems with this going off even when my baby was ok. Luckily, when the alarm did sound everything was ok. It never really bothered my daughter when the alarm sounded either. The monitors can plug in or have batteries so it's convenient to carry the monitor anywhere in the house. I feel this monitor is great, durable and definitely provides peace of mind. I feel pretty confident when the monitor is on and would definitely recommend this product.
...

Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor Review . As a mother of 2 boys an always hearing storys about SIDS was very frightening to me as a mother . Many Viewpoints reviewers calmed that fear by purchasing the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor. With the Angel Care Movement Sensor, parents can monitor there childs movements, sounds or both. Working with a small pad that slides under baby's mattress the Bebe Sounds Angel Care baby monitor senses baby's breathing movements alerting parents to any kind of problems that might occure while not in the room with them. Several reviewers comment that the sensitivity levels are too sensitive which can cause the monitor to give some false alarms but i think as a parent i would much reather have a false alarm reather than not knowing when something bad is going on with my baby. Some of the causes of the false alarms include ceiling fans in the room and baby rolling off the sensor pad. Despite this concern,...
...

I had a premature baby and thought this product was the perfect solution to ease my fears. Honestly it was not. It didn't always register that my child was in the bed. Sometimes there would be false alarm sounds coming from the crib which would scare me half to death for no reason at all and leave a sleeping baby wailing at 3 am. Also lets be honest with ourselves it doesn't make you feel any safer at all. One false alarm and you're wondering if the thing will ever work! I had in it the crib for two months, was changing the bedding and the cord ripped right out. Now the overpriced product was deemed entirely worthless. My suggestion? Start off investing in the video monitor or keep your child in a crib by your bed for the first few months. Not worth the money!
...

The Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor is probably the best purchase I made for my baby (other than the necessary stuff like crib, carseat, diapers, etc :) ). I am queen of paranoia and was always afraid my baby would stop breathing. I could barely lay down to sleep without having to get back up and go check on her. I had seen this product at the store and when my worry got too much to bear anymore, I looked it up online and had to have one! Luckily I found a used one (they are very pricey) on amazon, but if I had known beforehand how much sleep this product would allow me to have, I'd have paid full price if used ones weren't available! It was very easy to set up, it has two "parent units" (and each is battery operated AND able to be plugged in so you don't have to always rely on battery power) so you can have them in different rooms, and it amazingly enough senses the tiniest bit of movement- your baby sleeping perfectly still. I know it works because several times I've...
...

Due to some minor complications with my C-section, our daughter was placed in the NICU for a few days after her birth. (Everything was, and continues to be, fine.) If you've had a child in a special-care nursery, then you know what it's like to have the security of all those beeping monitors looking after breathing, O2 saturation, etc. The absence of those machines once you get home is unnerving, and we wanted something to give us peace of mind.

The Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor is probably the best baby investment that we made. It is versatile; we've used it both in the crib and on trips in her pack 'n play. A loud alarm sounds if there is no movement over the sensor pad for 20 seconds. Additionally, it serves as a nursery sound monitor so that we can hear when she awakens. We test it periodically to make sure it continues to work well, and so far, so good. My husband and I sleep soundly, knowing that this monitor helps us to keep our baby safe.
