Melissagbk says "The best turkey to make for Thanksgiving" about Bayou Classic Turkey Fryer Kit - 30 Quart

We had always the same turkey every year and we wanted a change. So we went out and bought the fryer and the oil. It was the best turkey that we have had in a long time. The best part of it is that you don't have to worry about the big mess to clean up. I think that it would be hard to go to a normal turkey ever again. The outside of the turkey is very crispy and the inside is very juicey and the trick to that is make sure that you inject it with anything that you like. For instence you can just do butter which is what we did or you can use any kind of liquid seasoning and inject it and then just put it in the fryer and let it cook away.

You have to make sure that you watch it and don't leave it unattended. Make sure that you use the thermomter that comes with it. You will have to ajust the tempature more when the turkey is about done. We had noticed that when we wher cooking it.
...

My dad has had one of these for a few years now. I recieved this turkey fryer from my parents as a christmas gift. We cooked our first turkey in it two days later! We did a 16 pounder in it, I think 16 or 17lbs is the maximum weight. We didnt season it or anything. Just a plain old fresh turkey. YUMMMM its was awsome! Its a little work to get this thing going and clean up but it is well worth the hastle! We had some trouble getting it going beacause it was VERY cold outside and windy. Had trouble keeping our flame. Please, Please, Please make sure your turkey is not frozen! It could and will blow up if you put a frozen turkey in hot oil! Be safe! You can do all sorts of things in this fryer. It even comes with a steammer kit to do clams in oysters. I cant wait to try other recipes with this fryer! Great Buy, Glad I got one finally....

With the Bayou Classic Turkey Fryer you can count on your turkey coming out with a nice even crust and so juicy and tender that you're friends will be talking about this one for a long time to come. You bird will also cook evenly (no bloody meat). There are unlimited possibilities with this. Donuts, seafood, vegetables, fries, corndogs, and my favorite- deep fried rabbit, and it's so easy to clean. I need my cook ware to be tough because I do alot of cooking, and I need to be able to cook alot of food at one time. The Bayou Classic Turkey FrIyer allows me to do just that. I own a catering business which requires me to cook food in mass quantities. I can fit a whole turkey in it at once or cut up and it helps me get the job done on time. I am so glad that I purchased this for my business as this is the most used fryer in my shop....

For years I baked my turkey and made my dressing. It was good but I got to the point i didn't like turkey anymore. I kept hearing people talk about fried turkey so I desided to try my hand at it.

This Thanksgiving I deep 2 turkeys in the Bayou Classic Turkey Fryer. It was the best turkey I ever tasted. I had 30 people over for Thanksgiving and there wasn't a bite of turkey left.

I do believe I have started a new tradition at my house. Use the Bayou Classic Turkey Fryer and deep fry your your turkey just once and you won't go back to baking that bird again.

It is easy to use, just follow directions and safty precautions and you will become a pro at it in no time.
...

Just ask any southerner what makes food taste better and they will tell you DEEP FRYING! Before you start to revolt on me because of cooking in oil there are many very good oils out there to use for those worried about their health. Peanut oil is my preferred choice and they are always working on better frying oils.

Bayou Classic Turkey Fry Kit

This comes with not one but two pots and fry baskets, one is a 30 quart and the other a 10 quart. Made of high quality aluminum to cut back on the weight and provide more even heat distribution as well. You also get some extra goodies in your kit such as an oil thermometer, turkey rack and pick up handle, a flavor injector, a lid (fits both pots) a heavy duty stand with burner and a detailed instruction book.

The burner is rated at 55,000 btu's and comes with a gas regulator and hose to connect your gas bottle to. This uses the same gas bottle as you would use on your gas grills. The 30 quart pot will take about 3 1/2 gallons of fry oil and you......
